Name: Ophelia Hall

Appearance:
(This is AI-generated but edited to add Togetic)
Untitled design (1).png

Personality:
Ophelia is a happy-go-lucky chef that is not afraid of experimenting with her culinary masterpieces. But because of her experimental nature, she often got criticism from both the customers and her head chef for straying away from the original menu. Despite all of this, she did not let it become her downfall and instead used her passion to make more new cuisines. She aims to become the number one chef in the world, and she believes she can achieve it with her partner Pokemon.

Backstory:
She was born in the Johto region before she decided to move out to explore different cultures and their food. She travelled from Kanto to Sinnoh to Unova, but ended up staying in Galar because of its interesting food culture, especially its curry. From there, she met her partner Pokemon Togetic who was abandoned by its trainer when it was still a Togepi due to how weak it was. Together, Ophelia and Togetic explored the kitchen as a chef in a high-end restaurant. Unfortunately, she got dismissed from her job after serving a Vanillish Vanilla Ice Cream with Rainbow Alcremie Cream and Salted Garganacl Caramel dessert to a customer who was very averse and afraid of Pokemon.

That's why she wanted to start somewhere new, somewhere that would allow her to explore and be creative. Hence, she applied as a chef in the Pokemon Resort.

Resort Position: Chef

Pokemon Assistant: Togetic

Name: Grace Silva

Appearance: 1707283730682.png
(This minus the veil)
(Art from Harunn2288 - はる Want to give credit where it's due)

Personality: Grace is bubbly and friendly. She loves meeting new people and experiencing new things. Unfortunately, she's also a bit clumsy and has a habit of getting herself into trouble. Despite that, she tries to not let it bring her down for too long. She dreams of being a star one day, and she tends to get caught up in daydreams frequently. She enjoys practicing moves with her Pokemon, but she tends to do it in private.

As outgoing as she usually is, her past has left her with low self-confidence that she tries to hide from others. The one thing that never fails to get under her skin is when someone brings up her past failures as a coordinator. She feels guilt for wasting so much of her parents' time and money on her journey and shame for becoming known as the woman who couldn't win a single contest. As such, while she's open about her dreams, she tends to avoid talking about her previous attempt at becoming a star coordinator. She fears her reputation from back home returning to haunt her at the resort.

Backstory: For as long as she can remember, Grace has always dreamed of becoming a star Pokemon coordinator. As a child, she spent all her free time watching contests or practicing her own moves. When she was 12, she was given a Roselia by her parents as a birthday gift. She began working hard with her Roselia, choosing to dance alongside her as a coordinator-Pokemon duo. A couple years later, her family and friends helped her set off on her own coordinator journey. She traveled Sinnoh and entered all the contests she could, catching a couple other partners along the way. It was like a dream come true for the girl, and she chose to give it her all and become the star she knew she could be...

That being said, she ultimately failed to make a splash in the scene. Her moves lacked the elegance and extravagance that would really wow crowds, and she'd usually find herself fumbling at some point along the way. She ended up spending her teen years failing contests, and eventually, her traveling lifestyle became unsustainable. She had to return home and find a regular job to make up for all the money she blew on her catastrophic career as a coordinator.

She did her best to put on a brave face when she got home, but she became the laughing stock of her town. She found the fame she sought as a coordinator, but she was famous for her failures, not for the successes she never achieved. She found a few odd jobs around town from people who felt bad for her, but she struggled to stick with them for very long. Eventually, her reputation became impossible to avoid, and she struggled to find any work back home. She decided she'd have to move and find a job far away, and she just so happened to stumble across an opening for a maid at a resort for trainers and their Pokemon. Deciding that the change of pace and fresh new location would be good for her, Grace applied for the position, excited for what this new opportunity might have in store for her.

Resort Position: Maid

Pokemon Assistants: Roselia (Rosie), Sylveon (Veevee), Misdreavus (Spooky)

Name: Hinata Tsurugi

Appearance:
images

Personality:
Hinata comes off as rather laid back and easy going, even as friendly to those who have yet to know him. In reality, he acts easy to get to know despite not sharing anything more than basic information if that, because he feels that he doesn't need friends especially in the workplace so it'dbe best to keep others at arm distance. He's a great listener, though not the best at giving advice, and tries to deflect when asked to share anything very personal about himself.

When it comes to Pokémon, Hinata finds most of them relaxing to be around, and finds them a rather good judge of character more often than not. He finds some comfort in the mask he carries, calling it a good luck charm when it really isn't. It was a gift from grandma he's just very attached to.

Backstory: Hinata comes from the Tsurugi clan, a family of draconid ancestry that originated in Hoenn many generations ago and have few remaining descendants scattered throughout the regions, such as a distant cousin named Jomei in Johto, and another said to live somewhere in Sinnoh. He spent his very early years in Aspertia City, Unova.

You are an ill omen and don't deserve the Tsurugi name!

Those were words of frustration his mother once shouted at him when he was no more than 6, that struck him deeply after a series of sudden bad luck seemed to befall his family. Disowned and hated by his own mother who deemed him a curse, his grandmother stepped in and took him in as her own, moving them out to Paldea in an attempt at a fresh start.

He met Zoey during his time at Naranja Academy, finding her in a dumpster one day looking for food on his way to school, he gave her some of his lunch Grandma Tsurugi packed him almost every day and she's been following him ever since.

Some summers were spent in Mossui Town, Kitakami with his aunt and uncle, though he and his grandmother ended up moving there after he finished classes at Naranja Academy, as his grandmother had become ill and he helped his aunt and uncle care for her as best as he could. The change of scenery did her good, at least.

Maybe a change of scenery will do you good? I've heard they have wonderful views, why not give it a try, hm? Just call and check in every now and then, young man.

As a kid he tried to be the perfect trainer and perfect student, but couldn't even decide if battles were his forte on top of attending school and even after finishing classes wasn't sure what to do with himself to make his family proud. Always his biggest supporter, Granny Tsurugi did her best to support him in anything he did while reminding him he didn't have to get perfect grades for her to be proud and eventually suggested working at a Pokémon Resort to maybe destress from worrying about her in particular so much. He still left his only other Pokémon, a Sprigatito named Spriggan (Spriggy for short) with her to help out in his place.

Resort Position: Concierge

Pokemon Assistant(s):

35d8b47cdd3bcc969c627a166705c062.jpg

Species: Unovan Zorua (Shiny)
Name: Zoey
Gender: Female
Ability: Illusion
Personality: Rather shy and almost clingy to Hinata, she usually uses fake tears (or real ones) to get out of trouble with him or to get out of things she'd rather not do. It sometimes works in getting a treat out of Hinata, cause sometimes he really can't say no to the puppy eyes.

Sometimes has a tendency to use dig when really nervous or anxious (or when playing hide and seek), but prefers lazing about in a nice sunny spot.

Most used moves:
Fake Tears
Swift
Dig
Icy Wind

Name: Victor Caddel
Appearance:
IMG_2729.jpeg
(Ai generated)

Personality: Victor is a charming, social man with a pension for privacy and respect. He carries himself as an older gentlemen might while only being 25 years old. He enjoys the more expensive things in life and will not hesitate to share his wealth with others. He has an intense need to make those around him feel as relaxed as possible, making sure everyone's needs are met while taking care not to overstay his welcome. Victor's biggest vice is also what makes him kind. He will go to great lengths to care for others while shutting his own needs away until they can no longer be escaped. He tends to get angry if pushed about something he doesn't wish to discuss.

Backstory: Victor spent the majority of his childhood in Lumiose City, Kalos with his aunt (Lena), uncle (Mateo), and little sister (Mia). The big city life was always a wonder for him and his sister, seeing as they had both grown up on the countryside until they were 10 and 6 respectively. Bright lights, busy streets, and questionable alleyways seemed like a whole other world to them, and they thrived despite the tragedy that had befallen their parents only months before they had been placed in their new home. Being the older sibling, Victor had taken it upon himself to do everything he could to care for Mia, and still holds that priority as an adult. There was no love lost between the siblings and their aunt and uncle, and they gradually grew to love them as if they were their own parents.

Victor, despite his rather reclusive appearance, was popular in school and took an active roll in after school activities. For a while he was well known as the strongest psychic type user and would take on classmates daily with his partner, Meowstic. It wasn't until an accident occurred after a match with a particularly battle hungry Charmeleon that Victor and Meowstic saw their downfall in senior year. Victor's hand was badly burned and he lost nerve endings in his fingers, which resulted in a lack of sensation in them. He'd taken physical therapy with Meowstic, who's tail had been horribly burnt, which ignited Victor's fascination in easing people's distress.

Nowadays Victor spends most of his days building trust with others and learning new ways to introduce relaxation to clients in need.

Resort Position: Masseuse

Pokemon Assistant/s: Meowstic

E.J.
9BB925AC-8E48-469E-8316-9A9052F71459.jpg

Personality

E.J. is the Pokémon Resort’s fun-loving and passionate lifeguard.

He loves his job and handles his duties on the sand and in the water gracefully and in good spirit due to his enjoyment of the tasks. His joy for his career translates through his ability to inspire the guests of the resort to feel good and excited about exploring the crystal clear waters by his responsiveness and assurance of safety from his helpful engagements on the beach. His success with the job isn’t just from his passion for it, but his competency in understanding the conditions of the ocean as well as his extensive swim training which keeps him ready and prepared to confidently take action in case of emergencies.

One unfavorable thing about his job is the army of crab Pokemon that flood the beach every Wednesday. It has become a spectacle for the guests to watch E.J. try and shoo off and fend himself from the aggressive and stubborn crabs with their threatening and considerably painful pinchers.

Backstory

E.J.’s passion for his job stems back from his childhood living in Sootopolis city. There in the Hoenn region, he and his siblings loved to compete in swim races around Wallace’s gym. Eventually as he grew a bit older, E.J. took interest in life guarding when he helped save a frantic Taillow that had crash landed into the sea. Ever since then, he looked out for other Pokémon and even people who had any difficulties in the water.

E.J. turned on the news one day at his family estate where his father assisted trainers as a Move Tutor. On the television was an advertisement for a Pokémon Resort seeking new hires. When he saw the opening for life guards, he instantly knew he had to go and see if he could get in on the job. He packed a bag and booked a plane ride to the resort headquarters on the very next day. After settling into what unquestionably became the best job of his life, E.J. would meet his Pokémon partners who assist him at the warm and sunny paradise.

artemis yoshida
=== ポケモン ===
Artemis is a willful man, one used to getting and flaunting his success. It's condensed into an easy-going confidence; perhaps even arrogance, considering his sharp tongue and smug smiles. He's a tease, the type that pushes others to frustrated laughter. The type that loves to boast to the skies and challenge others despite lacking the strength to back up his claims. It's not something that a caretaker should have, yet Pokémon flock to Artemis nevertheless.

After all, he was a psychic once. No, not just a psychic. The psychic.

Born to a pair of berry farmers along the routes of Kalos, Artemis's powers were discovered from a young age. A one-of-a-kind talent, they called him. Someone who could grow to overshadow all those who came before.
And so he did. When Artemis had graduated from school, it was with a pair of unevolved Pokémon and a black record comprising of solely losses. He wasn't much of a trainer, fighting solely when the duo chose to do so for their own amusement. After all, he didn't have to be, not with a list of contractors waiting to recruit him after his graduation.
Artemis chose to work as a freelancer, sometimes sweeping across regions to calm rampaging Pokémon, other times aiding with rescue efforts after natural disasters or waiting with treats in hand to reteach injured Pokémon the meaning of love.
A couple of months prior, his powers were injured in an accident, leaving him blind to a world where he'd been born seeing technicolor. After a period of recuperation, he was recommended the resort as a place to relax while continuing his physiotherapy. Of course, Artemis interpreted that a bit differently, instead choosing to take a position as a caretaker for the boarders' Pokémon, but long periods of rest never really suited him.
By now, he's recovered a fraction of power, enough to sense the emotions of others upon physical contact or to lift a water bottle.

(my own ai generated oc)

Cassio

Personality

Unlike his brother E.J., Cassio is more reserved and serious natured about his work. He holds a position higher than E.J. as the lead Beach Attendant who oversees all activities on the beach and its access points while operating as beach security. He’s straightforward with guests and not particularly accommodating as his role isn’t hospitality. His only concern is doing his duties and maintaining the beach as a safe zone and making sure no unruly guests are littering or breaking any rules. With his Pokémon, Cassio is strict and holds high expectations of them while on the job but also can reward them generously after a good days work. Socially, he’s usually a mystery as he just seems to disappear after his shifts. With his brother, Cassio keeps things short with him and directs E.J. on tasks that require his attention. Outside of work, he and E.J. aren’t particularly close or hang out. Cassio prefers his independence and has his own interests.

Backstory

Back in Hoenn during his younger days, he and all of his brothers were highly competitive with one another. Their main shared interest was the swim races and they participated in a race around the Sootopolis Gym nearly everyday. Some of the brothers like his brother E.J. were lighthearted about the races, but Cassio would never be ok with a loss. He prided himself in all of his victories, but was never outwardly arrogant or snobby. He just loathed losing. During the races, Cassio would use his Dewott that he raised ever since it was a little Oshawott at his family home. Even when younger, he and E.J. weren’t very close as they shared two other siblings all with clashing or contrasting personalities.

In the family, Cassio was closest to his mother who was a swim instructor for non-water type Pokémon. His father was too busy with his own self-interests and dealings as a Move Tutor to pay as much attention to the kids. Cassio assisted his mom with swim coaching and even would volunteer to help out at Wallace’s gym there in Sootopolis city. He helped clean the battlefield pool and would help with any supply runs. With his experience from volunteering and swim coaching, Wallace himself wrote a recommendation to the Pokémon Resort for Cassio to be hired on. Cassio scored the job as a Beach Attendant and within a short few months, he was promoted to a lead position. His inattentive father failed to mention to his brothers that he got the envied job at the Pokémon Resort, but not long after E.J. was also hired on to his surprise.

Resort Position: Beach Attendant

Name: Ren
Appearance:
fnrjifn.png

(image credit to kakowara365 or kakko on pinterest)

Personality: Ren is a very curious, spirited soul who loves to explore anything that catches her interest. She is quite perceptive and her ability to notice even the tiniest thing and think quickly on her feet make her perfect for her job. Since things at the resort are pretty relaxed, she will sometimes help the staff with errands and you can often find her wandering hidden coves or collecting little trinkets in her free time. Beyond that, if she's not off exploring, you can find her and her pokemon "stealing" food from the kitchen in between shifts. When it comes to other people, Ren has a mischievous yet caring side to her and often acts as a big sister by offering comfort and childish fun. She loves bringing people along on her adventures and seeing them open up and embrace their inner child.

Due to her mischievous nature, sometimes Ren has a habit of getting in trouble or ending up somewhere where she isn't supposed to be. Since she likes to go wherever the wind takes her, she also has a problem of getting lost because she forgets to put markers or track anything on her map. Thankfully, her pokemon partners seem to have caught on and are far more directionally aware than she is. She also has a fear of pelipper for no apparent reason other than the way their beady eyes look at her every time she's holding food scare the living daylights out of her.

Backstory:

Ren spent most of her childhood in Sinnoh with the elders of her village rather than in her own home. Besides being a chaotic love story, her parents were an unwelcomed duo, with her mother being a member of Team Rocket and her father being a member of Team Galactic. Realizing that raising a kid would not be easy in between missions, her parents ended up dropping her off in a small village next to Floaroma town where an old couple took pity on her and took her in. She absolutely loved the elderly couple and didn't find her situation odd at all as her parents would continue to secretly visit her at night. Ren would be ecstatic when they would take her to the nearby forest for their weekly picnic, blissfully unaware of their occupation. She loved spending time with the pokemon there and her parent's vast knowledge of each of them often left her in awe. Eventually though, the old couple would tell Ren what her parents were truly up to which left her more hurt than she was willing to admit. Deciding she couldn't just sit back and watch, Ren would ask to join her parents on their mission with the blessing of the elderly couple and much to the excitement of her parents.

Over the next few years, Ren would make catastrophic "mistakes" during her parent's missions, messing around and helping pokemon escape whenever she found the opportunity. Most would run off, but Fomantis (now Lurantis), Fletchling, and shiny Vulpix (now shiny Ninetales) were the first to stay with her. Ren was eventually caught, but her parents were more proud of her than angry. They gushed over how big their little girl had gotten and believed that she just couldn't see the value of their cause. She had never felt such unease and couldn't understand how her parents could ever agree to this. Since Ren had been caught, she had to leave Sinnoh for her own safety and ended up joining a ranger school. After graduating, her mentor told her about a job offer at a resort as a security guard and recommended she join as an opportunity for her to gain more knowledge and get a change of pace. She has been working there for about a year now and loves her job more than she could have ever imagined.

Name: Francis "Frankie" Harper

Appearance:
(This is AI-generated but edited to add Ribombee and Floette)
Untitled design.png

Personality:
Frankie is a hardworking and efficient person who is well-connected with nature than with other people. He is an introvert who may seem aloof, especially when tending to his beloved plants, but he is a giant with a soft heart. He mostly grows the prettiest flowers in the resort, but he also delivers ingredients to the kitchen if needed. His specialty is growing fresh berries and he has learned quite a lot in preparing them such as making smoothies or juices. He is quite patient and it is hard to irritate him or anger him, but he would rather resolve an issue than going into a fight. Since he put a lot of love and effort in his plants, one way to trigger him is if anything happens to his plants or his Pokemon.

Backstory:
Frankie is a farmer born in Unova, and has been working in Floccesy Ranch as a helper. Growing up, he was asked to help around the farm like milking the Miltank or shearing the Mareep. Although he liked taking care of farm pokemon such as Mareep and Flaafy, he liked taking care of plants more. Because of this, he has grown to love Grass, Bug, and Fairy-types that helped in his garden. His parents appreciated all the help that they can get from him, but he thought that he could do better out there than taking care of their measly farm. So, they decided to send him to Pretty Petal Flower Shop and Fortree City in Hoenn, Celadon City in Kanto, and Floaroma Town in Sinnoh to learn more about plants and gardening. Finally, by a recommendation made by Gym Leader Erika herself, he was sent to the Pokemon Resort as their gardener.

Resort Position: Gardener

Pokemon Assistants: Floette and Ribombee

Name: Natalie “Nat” Winters

Appearance:
75ecfc9e0bc052ef135f9f1120bea035.jpg

Personality:
Natalie is a kind hearted young woman who tries to help others when possible and is also the type who would occasionally work herself past her limits. She can occasionally get anxious and overthink things which sometimes lead to her being annoyed with herself when things don't go as planned. Otherwise she's got a curiosity to meet new Pokémon and people alike along with seeing new sights, and is willing to try anything at least once.

Backstory:
Natalie is part of a family with distant ties to a family of Psychics that split into two branches; the Moores and the Winters. She has a young cousin named Robin who lives in Galar, while those of the Moores she hasn't met she heard live in Alola. Nat herself grew up in good old Goldenrod Johto, spending most of her time helping the daycare couple which really consisted of helping man the front desk and playing with the smaller Pokémon or doing homework in the lobby area. She spent so much time there the couple practically raised her as their own granddaughter. Someone had left their Smeargle there and never came back for it, so she was given the Pokémon to care for.

One day, an egg was left behind and Nat eagerly accepted the challenge of helping raise whatever Pokémon it would become with Gollum's help a little Cyndaquil would be born, the two raising the runt like a younger sibling. She tried her hand at being a trainer, going through the gym challenge and struggling her way through eight badges but not getting the chance to pass the Elite Four as a teen while documenting her journey through pictures and journals, constantly failing every attempt at beating them even though she learned to adapt her battling style something just wasn't working. Maybe she just wasn't cut out for battling?

She had been on her fifth attempt at battling the Elite Four when Neo Team Rocket had taken the radio tower in Goldenrod, but they had been driven out by a boy around her age by the time she got back so she heard. She never met the guy, but heard of a few of his feats and honestly looked up to him and hoped to be a great trainer like him someday.

Unfortunately, she just couldn't beat the Elite Four, and eventually grew discouraged from continuing when her bank account got dangerously low after returning to challenge them every few months. So, it was back to the Daycare for the next year or so until she just happened to hear of an advertisement for the resort on the old radio in the lobby, talking of all the open positions at the time, thinking it would be nice to change it up a bit and hopefully pay the Daycare couple back for their help in funding her initial dream of being a trainer, as well as to send a good sum of money back for taking care of the rest of her team for her. Maybe she could even help spread the word of the daycare to boost up the foot traffic a bit.

Name: C-lulu | Lulu
Species: Quilava (Hisuian line)
Gender: Male

Personality: C-lulu is an odd Pokémon, in the fact that he likes to hold knives in his mouth or paws and use them to cut food like humans do. He likes to show off his food cutting skills like a kid showing off macaroni art.
