Sonya walked along the sidewalk, on her way to the high school, engrossed in her cellphone. This was her last year here. To be away from it all was something she could hardly wait for. Ever since the beginning of middle school, all she'd wanted was for her life to get started and be in control of her own situation and not have to suffer around people she couldn't stand. And, there was Akio. They'd met in elementary and had been the best of friends within days. However, he had to leave in their final year of grade school and had to keep in touch online after. Years later, he was coming back. That was her only solace. She had acquaintances and people she could skulk around, but there was never anyone she could really hang out with. It was hard to say if that was mostly her fault or the fault of everyone else. She looked up finally, and found herself at the school grounds and sighed. She was a senior. It'll all be over in a few months.

Akio meanwhile was sitting in his car looking around the town as he drove to school. He saw sites he hadent seen since he was a child. 'Ha this really all takes me back.' He thought to himself. In truth he wasent meant to arrive before the mid point of the year but he came a weak early, he was eager to get back though he'd miss his friends he left behind. He'd meet all his friends from grade school, though there was one that was mainly on his mind. "Sonya." He said her name to himself. They had been best friends for the longest time and he was happy to be able to see her again, she was the main reason he came early. He found the school and drove into the parking lot and got out. His car was a ford mustang his dad bought him for his excellent grades and he treated it like a baby. "Quite the impressive place." He said looking at the large school, after grade school they had moved to a smaller town for his father who was a write to have some peace and quiet. Akio had always sort of resented it but nothing he could do about then back then.

A few girls pushed past the brunette, one looking over her shoulder to give a snide glare to Sonya. She simply sighed and let it be, letting them walk on ahead of her before she walked herself. She looked around for that tuft of white hair before looking down to her phone and opening the messages app. Are you here? She sent to him. I haven't seen you yet, and I don't remember what your car looks like, either. Sonya looked away from her phone again, deciding to venture towards the parking lot. It was her best guest so far. He loved that thing like it was his own life. Sonya scowled when seeing a group of boys, and attempted to usher past them, as they weren't a bunch she was particularly fond of. Her heart sank a bit when one of them glanced at her. They spoke amongst themselves for a moment before one of them turned to her and called out, "Yo, Sonya!"

"Im here." He sent back. "Ill find you, and how dare you forget my mustang :P " He said searching for her. Before those boys could truly do anything Akio had already spotted her and his face broke into a grin. He quickly went threw the crowds till he was behind her. "Boo!" He said in a familiar voice as he suddenly tickled her sides. He had heard someone else call out her name and glanced over her head at the group. If he knew sonya those guys didnt seem like the usual type of people she hang out with.

Sonya bit her lip slightly when her name was called, quickly grabbing for her phone when it vibrated, looking over the messages in an attempt to ignore the boys. One of them started to walk over "Sonya, hey--" He was interrupted by a young man's voice calling to her. Sonya looked up from her mobile, but saw no one. A sudden panic hit her when her sides were touched, though she couldn't help but giggle when the sensations hit her. Sonya turned and smiled. "Akio, it's been so long!"

The boys seemed a little surprised at the scene. The one who had been walking towards the brunette turned and walked back to the group, now keeping to themselves. "You look so different in person. You're so tall now, too." She exclaimed, measuring herself against him with her hand. The top of her head barely hit his shoulder.

Sent this from my iPhone.

"It has been a long time Sonya." He said smiling a wide grin, he was happy to see her though he was suspicious about those boys. The fact that they left when he came proved that they werent sonjya's friends. When she remarked how tall he was his smirk widened. "Naw you just shrunk." He said teasing her. While his looks had changed his attitude was the same. Suddenly he reached forward and hugged her. "Its good to see you."

Sonja smiled at him, and when he'd hugged her, she returned it. "It's good to see you, too." She replied. Although, she felt a nervous twist in the pit of her stomach and gently pulled away, smiling a little awkwardly. "Uh, come on. Let me show you what it's like inside." She told him. "It's not a huge school or anything, but we've got some time left before classes start up, so it's something to do." She walked a bit, gesturing him to follow. She felt uneasy. If certain people saw that, she likely wouldn't hear the end of it and she had a feeling they'd start to target Akio, too.

He was slightly surprised when she pulled away so quickly though he ignored it, it was probably just nerves it had been a long time after all. "Alright lets go." He put his hands in his pocket and followed. While she had said it was not a massive school it wasent small ether, there were quite a few people here and some were showing interest in the new kid. "So what classes do you have?"

Sonya felt a little guilty for coming off as aloof to him, but it felt like it would be the best thing to do. It was one thing for people to see them as friends, but everyone always spread rumors and would tease when it came to more intimate gestures, like hugging. Sonya twirled a finger through her hair, lost in thought. She only barely heard Akio speaking to her. "Oh, uhm... english is with Ms. Levi, swimming with Coach Kadwell, Miss Fleet is my math teacher, Mr. Hopkins teaches art, Mr. Jule for history, Dr. Abaluchee does chemistry, and lastly, Mrs. Marley teaches advisory. Not... in that particular order, though. Do you have your list yet?"

(( I don't know about you, but advisory was a daily thing for me. ))

"Yeah i have my list, i dont share all your classes, you know i was never very artsy but i may share your chemistry and your history class." He said thinking about his own schedule. He had always had good grades in school and took a few honors courses. More and more students were showing interest in the two, he didnt like some of the looks they threw at soyna. 'Did something happen with her that i didnt know? No... She would have told me.' He thought to himself as they walked.

"Alright. We'll find out soon enough, right?" Giving him a small smile, though looked away rather quickly. "The kids here... aren't the best people, if you were to ask me... but there's some that aren't bad. But I'm sure you'll do fine. There's some familiar faces around. And knowing you, you'll fit in pretty easily." She told him, rubbing her arms lightly. "They're going to be all over you for awhile, being new and all. Just don't let the attention get to your head." Sonya teased.

((no notifications op)

He playfully scoffed. "Please when have i ever let anything go to my head." This had actually happened a lot as he was very playfully vain or at least seemed that way to many. When she mentioned not all the kids here were the greatest he looked at her in worry, "Did something happen Sonya?" He had always been observant and it would be hard to keep things from him.

(( It's cool :P . And sorry for how late I was myself. Spaced this off. ))

She bit on her tongue a bit. "No. I'm just a people watcher, you know? I pick up on things when I listen to what other's say or watch things that they do." Sonya told him. "It's... done me pretty well, I think. So yeah. Just a heads up, so you can see it coming." She felt bad that she wasn't straight up with him. But all kids dealt with bullying to some degree. She wasn't anything special. And it wasn't everyone, just certain people. She stopped near a pair of thick brown doors. "So, here's the gym. It's closed in the morning since someone managed to break the bleachers last year."

He narrowed his eyes, she was hiding something. He knew her to well and he could tell that much. Never the less he wouldnt push her right now, he'd find out what the situation was first. After all he had always been a planner. When they got to the gym and she explained why it was locked he whistled impressed. "How did someone manage to do that, bleachers are pretty solid." He said looking at the doors.
