Character Sheet:

OrcPub is kind of annoying in that it doesn't publicly display things like background (even though it can be inferred). Might want to put that in manually somehow or just on the thread. Everything else looks alright to me.

Backstory:

Could use some cleanup. Think of this like "Act 0" of your character's story, it should be formatted as such.

Life events add some nice flavor, but I'd like to see more of the "core story" of your character. Stuff like:
- Who was her family? Personality, jobs, etc.
- How was her childhood? (Ordinary is very vague, especially on a ship)
- What did she do on the ship, occupation wise?
- How did she learn how to be a rogue specifically (e.g. training? Did she like stealing things?)

Also, you might want to order around your events so they make more chronological sense. The "run or die" thing makes sense for why she became a solo adventurer or found other people to adventure with, but it's around age 50 which doesn't make sense for anything later unless she found another investigation crew.

Just as a forewarning, we'd prefer you're not connected to a faction at the time of the campaign (since that complicates things). Again, the "run or die" thing would probably solve that issue but you'll have to switch things around.

Finally, just keep in mind that she shouldn't be too experienced an adventurer - she's only level 1, after all. She'd be a rookie or a minor member of the crew, at most.

Make some changes and then ping me at K Kanaxe_Ru in the server so I can take a look at it again. Thanks!

Ashryn "Ash" Yllabella

Appearance:
Ash has long, black hair that's often in a messy ponytail. The sides and underside of her head are shaved. Her left ear is mostly gone, save for a small section close to her cheek. She has a myriad of scars, but the majority of them cover her back and arms. Her eyes are a deep forest green, she is lithe and flexible.

Backstory:
Ash and her family hail from Llewellyn, on Alaron of the Moonshae Isles. However, most of their lives were spent on their ship, dubbed the Moonstrider. They were members of one of many units devoted to a high-elf civilization spread across the Moonshae Isles. Some of their tasks would involve retrieving stolen artifacts, investigating mysterious sites without being discovered, and bringing pirates to justice. Sneaking into dangerous areas in the dead of night, scaling mysterious monuments, dancing toe-to-toe in light sword battles with pirates and marauders, outwitting enemies in games and tests to reap the rewards, delivering messages, navigating the sea and important dialogues with other civilizations, are just some of the experiences of the Moonstrider crew.

Ash was born on the Moonstrider, much to her parent's surprise- they had been trying to have a child for quite some time, with no luck. They kept Ash close and she has a great relationship with them. Ash had a few close friends and lived a generally positive childhood, for a sailor. One of such friends was a red dragonborn, a friend of the family that went by the name Jax. She learned Draconic from him in her free time. He did much of the heavy lifting on the ship, during which Ash would keep him company. Most of her friends and family had a roguish style to them, preferring to use wit and stealth to accomplish their goals, and Ash was no exception. However, she did not have the silver tongue or immediate charm that much of the crew utilized.

Her parents were both sailors and members of Moonstrider's crew. She learned fencing from her mother, Sylvyre. Her father, Kadyn, fostered her intelligence with stories, books, and puzzles. Sylvyre was a rebellious and rambunctious sort, and had no problem with bending the rules. Kadyn was intelligent, ambitious, and determined, and believed strongly in duty and loyalty. Most of Ash's skills were learned on missions with members of the crew, sometimes including her parents, in which she assisted and observed the more experienced crew members. On the ship, her main tasks were inventory, climbing around the ship as needed (to remove an obstruction from the outside, for example, or fix a sail) and the same light manual labor that most of the crew undertook.

It was on her first missions with the crew that Ash became aware of her..."sticky fingers". She had no need or reason to steal, but it was a sort of instinct, an urge she couldn't control. More and more, she'd find trinkets, coins, gems, and things of the like that she didn't remember taking. She's gotten better at resisting the urge when it went strongly against her morals- stealing from fellow elves, or people who have helped her/been kind to her, but even then it's a struggle.

This created tension with some of the crew, but for the most part, they were forgiving, and even humorous. Ash would always give back the stolen possessions if it was requested of her, and the ship was a tight-knit group of people, so internal grudges didn't last long.

Life Events from Xanthar's:
Had a supernatural experience (Age 27)
(supernatural table- explored an empty house and found it to be haunted)
On one of their investigative missions, the crew discovered that a house was haunted by a pair of wronged children. They ended up upsetting them, and had to take them down. Seeing something like this so young has instilled a strong belief of magic and the supernatural into Ash.
Made a friend of an adventurer (Age 43)
For a short time, an informant joined the Moonstrider crew. She was a fairly old, but spry, elf named Karyntha. Ash bonded with her, and happily listened to her many stories of land adventures.
Fell in love (Age 75)
Ash had many crushes during the small periods she did spend on land, but one in particular stands out. A half-elf pirate named Trixie who was a prisoner on the ship for a month. Ash found herself intrigued by this girl, and kept her company on the ship. They grew rather close, but nothing ever came of it, as Ash was not as bold in her youth. Trixie was brought back to Alaron and sent on trial. Ash doesn't know her fate.
Went on an adventure (Age 92)
(adventure table- nearly died, covered in scars, missing an ear.)
During an excursion, the crew got stranded for quite some time in hostile lands. Everyone made it out alive, but Ash was scarred; she had wandered out for an evening stroll and got attacked. The crew found her barely clinging to life. The beast that attacked her was some sort of demonic wolf, and as a result she is very afraid/uncomfortable around any canine creatures.

Soon after her 100th birthday, Ash's mother went missing during a trip to Daggerford, after which Ash was supposed to set off into the world on her own to undergo her transition into elven adulthood. When Sylvyre didn't return, Ash set out to find her.
