Tower of God (ToG) is a korean web comic created by SIU (Slave.In.Utero) and is actually one of the ''stories'' in the Talse Uzer ( Tales User?) universe. This universe ''works'', so to say, under the premise that “the world comprises of several tales as its centre, and these tales persist as unchangeable records”. Although it's one of several stories, ToG has almost no connections to the others, so you don't need to know any of the other stories to understand it. Not only that , ToG is currently the only official Talse Uzer Story. The Tower of God is one of many towers which exist around ''Earth''/Outside World (which is bigger than the real world Earth and so is the Tower, but according to the character Urek Mazino, the Outside World is so big that the Tower seems small). Of course in the ToG storyline, the characters only know little about the world outside of the Tower. But let us return to the main subject and go into a little more detail...

Test Points

Based on their performance and score during a test, Regulars earn a certain number of test points which are then used as currency. These points can be used to purchase meals, drinks and so on, although this sort of thing is only enforced on the 2nd Floor. On all other Floors money is used for living expenses.

- #Shinsoo (Shinsu/Divine Water)- supernatural energy that flows through the Tower. Each Floor has different levels of density which increases as you go up. This energy has an endless list of variations. Through Shinsoo alone, one can attain eternal youth, immortality, control over the elements and even the powers of a god. One of the strongest people in the Tower, Enryu, is said to be able to create life with Shinsoo. But most of the types of effects listed above are generally specific to Rankers, or better yet High Rankers. Regulars usually utilize Shinsoo to enhance their physical capabilities, create barriers, generate destructive blasts and ,in a few cases, control elements or subjugation of certain beasts. Being able to directly control Shinsoo is a very rare talent and it can be said that this talent itself is an absolute necessary requirement in order to become a Ranker. Basically, most, if not all, Regulars have some degree of control over Shinsoo, although this does not mean all Regulars can become skillful manipulators of Shinsoo. While Wave Controllers specialise in using it, all positions have to learn it eventually to pass the tests, to fight successfully or to use it to strengthen their bodies. Shinsoo is essential for living in the Tower, as it allows for breathing and provides moisture for the inhabitants. It replaces air and carries out all the processes that air would, as well as having special, almost magical properties. You can think of it as the Tower's life force. [*]Irregulars commonly have a special talent for using Shinsoo, which leads to them being extremely powerful - one of the reasons they are considered to be so dangerous. #Shinsoo Resistance is a natural resistance against Shinsoo, allowing the individual to resist attacks consisting of Shinsoo, move around in areas with certain amounts of Shinsoo density and so on. It seems to be inborn for Tower inhabitants. Although it seems that each individual has different levels of resistance, based on battle experience and training. >>There are two ways to control Shinsoo: control through an item or direct control. Generally speaking, when one says "manipulating Shinsoo", it usually refers to direct control. >>The basic unit of Shinsoo manipulation is called Baang ( release, but sometimes it's translated as room), the size of the Baang is called Myun (surface) and the density of Shinsoo that goes in a Baang is called Soo ( water). The more Baangs one can control, the more skilled at manipulating Shinsoo one is judged to be. However, this does not mean one can manipulate greater Myun and higher Soo with many Baangs. As the number of Baangs increase, control becomes more difficult. Overdoing the handling of Baangs can physically and mentally exhaust the manipulator and in serious cases, it may cause death. If supported by a Lighthouse (more info on the ''Lighthouse'' tab), manipulating Baangs can become much easier, but this dosn't mean the number of Baangs increases. The control of three or more Baangs appears to be rare for an E-rank Regular, to the point where out of all E-rank Regulars, there are only about 10 who can control 3 Baangs. SIU has mentioned on his blog that High Rankers normally control between 30 and 50 Baangs. >>There are two major types of Shinsoo Control: 1.Flow Control; 2.Reverse-Flow Control; Flow Control is reading the original flow of Shinsoo and using that flow to manipulate Shinsoo. On the other hand, Reverse-Flow Control refers to reversing the flow to manipulate Shinsoo. Although there is no exact predictable pattern to the flow of Shinsoo, Shinsoo does momentarily flow in certain directions, so one can efficiently manipulate Shinsoo by reading and using these temporary directional flows. Once one begins to control Shinsoo in one direction, it is difficult to change direction. Reverse-Flow Control is controlling Shinsoo by forcefully changing its flow. It is slower than flow control and thus generally means the user can only control a smaller amount of Shinsoo in comparison to flow control. Reverse-flow control is mostly used to destroy or stop the enemy. This requires more caution when compared to Flow Control. In fact, to use Reverse-Flow Control, you need to be able to read the flow of Shinsoo more accurately than you need to for Flow Control. You instead break, block and shatter the flow and make it your own. Even though this may sound very destructive, Flow Control is actually better for destroying things. >>A few talented Wave Controllers in the Tower are capable of the magnificent feat of utilising Flow Control and Reverse-Flow Control at the same time. A simple analogy would be the talent of being able to play table tennis against two opponents at once holding a paddle in each hand. The best example of such a technique is the Floral Butterfly Piercing Technique, a technique only taught to FUG members (more info on the ''Organizations of the Tower'' tab). This technique is a very destructive "Damage Technique". Once your body is in contact with your opponent's, you forcefully "reverse-flow control" the flow of Shinsoo in your opponent's body by accelerating the flow of Shinsoo inside your own body. You then "flow control" the returning shock inside your own body to protect yourself from the backlash. This is a dangerous technique that destroys everything in contact with your body while leaving you completely unharmed. Known Techniques

He is a High Ranker, currently retaining the 3rd spot in ranking. He is currently inactive, said to be "hibernating", with the Three Lords handling the day-to-day ruling of the Tower in his stead. He is technically an Irregular, but ethically, because of his status, is not considered so (except by the Guardians). He is the Ruler of Zahard's Floors and founded the Zahard Empire while still conquering the Tower. This is because he built his Empire with many contracts as he moved through the Tower. more info:Zahard #The Princesses of Zahard- elite females chosen to serve under Zahard in exchange of receiving a part of his power. They are the "ultimate species" and a Princess is chosen every several hundred years. "They are an existence which, at times, serves as a sword to defend the authority of the King and at other times, is worshipped by the citizens of the Tower". Being recognized as a Princess is an honourable and almost impossible achievement and there are many candidates who desire the position. Apparently, some of the Floors were conquered by Princesses, likely on the behalf of Zahard when the King and the 10 Great Warriors were conquering the Tower. It is unknown if these Princesses were allowed to rule the Floors they had conquered. more info:http://towerofgod.wikia.com/wiki/Zahard's_Princesses #The 10 Great Famillies- descendants of the Ten Great Warriors (Irregulars) which entered the Tower toghether with Zahard. They are part of the Ruling Class in the Tower and their members are often extremely powerful, blessed with the power of their forefathers, meaning that many of them are Rankers. Just as Zahards are considered Royals, 10 Great Family members are considered Nobles. Another interesting point about these 10 Great Families is that a few selected daughters of the family have the chance to become Zahard's Princesses and gain an enormous authority and power in the Tower. Note: If a Family head or house head has multiple wives or husbands, then there will be a main family and branch families. The Koon(Khon/Khun) Family, notably, has the most branch families. more info:10 Great Families
- #Ranker-a being who has reached the top of the Zahard Empire (currently 134th Floor) and has been given a Rank, which is calculated after investigating and combining statistics such as a person's power, recognition and influence, by the Ranking Administration Office. They are on charge of the tests on the various Floors of the Tower. -->High Ranker-a Ranker whose ranking is in the top 1% of total Rankers. These receive sobriquets/nicknames issued by the Ranking Administration Office, usually in reference to the High Ranker's battle Position or other aspects. more info:Ranker

It is likely seeking to wage war on the Zahard Empire although how or when this will happen, is unknown. Influence of this organization is unknown so far. Slayers- Within their infrastructure, FUG has 11 ''Slayers '' (or ''One who kills Zahard). It is probably powered by Shinsoo which exists everywhere so it is wireless. It also has wireless networking features which allows it to connect with external devices like another Lighthouse, an Observer and so on. When it has been "disconnected" or split up, it forms a network of cubes. It's unknown if the term "Lighthouse" also applies to smaller cubes or if it applies only to larger cubes. There are different shapes and Grades of Lighthouses. The Opera has a very high Grade and the Eyes of God likely has the highest Grade. It's also a misconception that Lighthouses can be destroyed easily. When a Lighthouse is knocked out, it has fallen outside of the Light Bearer's field of Shinsoo control and will fall to the ground. It is no longer in operating mode because its power source has been disconnected. #Generally used by Light Bearers. #More info here: Lighthouse
- #Ignition Weapon- a special type of weapon which seems to have a soul, but it's more accurate to say it was created with a special type of Shinsoo. When activated it releases vast amounts of power, enhancing its speed, damage etc. An incredibly famous and powerful group of Ignition weapons are the 13 Month Series, which are only given to selected Zahard Princesses. -->Another type of Ignition weapon are the Living Ignition Weapons, living beings with an Ignition Weapon inserted in them, created after extensive research and experimentation by the scientists of the Workshop. more info:Ignition Weapon Note: Not all weapons in the Tower are Ignition Weapons.
- The Arms Inventory (암스 인벤토리, ahmseu inbentori, "Arms Inventory") is one of the three major kinds of inventories in the Tower. It is used for storing weapons. Similar to a Pocket, it has a Visible Mode and an Invisible Mode. Grades of Arms Inventories most likely exist. Note: an Arms Inventory shouldn't be confused with the Reel Inventory which is simply a line attached to and wound around the Arms Inventory. <img src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/imageproxy/imageproxy.php?img=http://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/towerofgod/images/a/a6/Reel_bombs1.jpg/revision/latest/scale-to-width/170?cb=20120614075941&key=e13091436d0057598d5e1dca2d90a7c233e8ed046ba94248e4de4991b7096b7d" class="ipsImage" alt="170?cb=20120614075941" /> How certain items like bombs, can be attached to an Arms Inventory. Arms Inventory is the basic armament used by all Fishermen, but it is not restricted from use by other Positions. Arm Inventories are customised for the storage of each user's weapons. For example, some have no slots for storing needles, swords, hooks, etc. because the user only uses bombs whilst other Arms Inventories have slots for storing needles, hooks and swords like Black March, Green April, and so on. Pockets(포켓, poket, "Pocket") are devices that provide a variety of functions that aid Regulars and Rankers in the Tower. It is seen as a "symbol" of strength for the Regulars. They are made from high purity Suspendium so they are capable of floating in areas of high Shinsoo density/viscosity. They are classified by their ranks from A-grade to E-grade. An A-grade Pocket is extremely expensive. Every Regular receives an E-grade Pocket when entering the Tower. This E-grade Pocket can be used to make the Shinsoo Contract with the Floor Guardians till the 40th Floor, when they start climbing the Tower. It seems that a B-Rank Pocket is enough to make a contract with every Guardian up until the 134th Floor. Pockets have different functions according to their ranks. - #Positions- the roles one would take on in battle should they be in a team. These are devided into Basic(Fisherman, Spear Bearer, Light Bearer, Scout, Wave Controller) and Special Positions (Guide, Defender, Anime/Subjugator, Wonsula, Dansula, Flame User, Lightning User). Basic ones:

Fisherman ( "Angler") The main offence of the battle, Fishermen are to dash into the heart of the enemy force and decimate their forces, usually through physical attacks.

Spear Bearer ("Spear Keeper") Spear Bearers act like snipers for the team, throwing their spears with deadly accuracy, but they can also serve a purpose similar to the Fisherman's by using their spear like a staff for close-combat. Technically speaking, they take all long-range matters into their own hands.

Scout ("Observer") Scouts will usually run ahead and investigate enemy forces for info, then return and deliver the information to the Light Bearers. They also help the Fishermen with offence.

Light Bearer ("Lighthouse Keeper") Light Bearers store and deliver knowledge to their team-mates while guiding them with the light of their Lighthouse.

Wave Controller ("Waver") Wave Controllers are the directors of the battle, aiding their comrades by healing their wounds, annihilating enemy forces or subtly changing the tide of the battle, all through the use of Shinsoo. There are many variations of this Position.

Special ones:

Guide ("Pathfinder" or "Assistant") The Guide is considered a Special Position, but it doesn't seem to be a variation of a main Position. Guides lead the way for the team, they also have excellent analysis skills. It is a very rare Position and those who take this position are considered "blessed" by The Tower.

Defender Defender's main aim is to protect the Light Bearer and/or Spear Bearer.

Anima ("Subjugator") An Anima controls living beings, commonly Shinheuh. It seems it's more a talent than a technique, as one cannot just become an Anima through learning.

Wonsulsa ("Circle-technique user" or "Circler") A Wonsulsa is able to create a perfect circle of Shinsoo, causing it to gain much greater strength while retaining the same Myun and Soo.

Dansulsa ("Pressure-technique user"? or "Pressurer"?) Dansul is the ability to, from far away, create an area with an enormously large amount of shinsoo pressure. Dansulsa may be a sub-category of Wave Controllers.

Hwayeomsa ("Flame user" or "Flamer") Though never officially confirmed, it seems a Flame user is a person able to somehow form flames from shinsoo currents.

Jeonsulsa ("Lightning User" or "Lightninger") Though never officially confirmed, it seems a Lightning user is a person able to somehow form electricity from shinsoo currents.

Note that one person is not limited to having just one position/role. more info:Position - #Exis/Axis (SIU currently uses the term Exis)- a person with the power to influence a “tale” within the Talse Uzer Story. They are the greatest variables which determine the future. There are many Exes/Axes outside the Tower. An Exis is named as such because their ability is invoked with the user as an axis. Apart from this fact, their abilities do not hold almost any similarity with each other. A non-Exis User is unable to interfere in any way, meaning even the weakest Exis could defeat the strongest non-Exis. An Exis User can only be defeated by a more powerful Exis. In the Tower of God universe, Phantaminum is the "author", or god, of one "story" in the universe. In exchange for taking on the responsibility of managing this story, he is given a powerful authority over the events that occur in the story. He is able to "write" records that cannot be erased or changed. Every Exis has the power to generate a space around them, in which they can use a unique power that cannot be denied or negated. Under the specifications of this ability, an Exis can control some aspect of reality within their own field. Exes primarily have the ability to control the reality of a finite amount of space around them. #Species- there are countless species in the Tower, each with its pros and cons. You can find anything from a humanoid crocodile, or a creature with both human and bee characteristics, to creatures which share the same slit for the eyes and the mouth. #The technology in the Tower is highly advanced. #The concept of time is different from the conventional ''real world'' one. Everyone can live for hundreds or even thousands of years even without being granted immortality. Their outer appearance depends on their mental age and way of thinking.
