Oscar Luana - 24 - Male
Appearance:
Oscar is average height and slightly burlier than average. He has dark skin, a warm brown colour, and has vitiligo around his green eyes, the sides of his neck, and part of his arms and shins. His hair is dark and comes about halfway down his neck, but Oscar usually pulls it back in a short ponytail. When he smiles, he gets crows feet around his eyes and he has a few scars, mostly from the missions the Incorporation has sent him on to test him.
When turning his body into ether, Oscar glows, giving off a soothing light. His clothes transform into his costume, something he's been working on for just over a year, and his hair turns into a fire-looking substance that doesn't give off any heat. When turning incorporeal, Oscar looks less like himself and more like a less solid Dr Manhatten. His edges tend to swirl around and become smudgy, threatening to drift off and get lost.

Oscar's costume is more like an alternate outfit. It's made of ether, so it glows with the same soothing light Oscar does. It's made of a plain, white t-shirt, a leather jacket, and cargo boots. They don't offer any protection, but nothing he made would so he went completely for style.
Powers:
Ethereal Physiology - Ocsar can call on the massive amounts of ether within his body to empower himself, transform his body so it's entirely compromised of ether and manipulate that substance.
Strengths
-Oscar can use the ether, or quintessence, and turn it into a projectile or to enhance his physical attacks.
-Oscar can make his body into a non-solid form to avoid attacks or pass through objects, but this requires an amazing amount of concentration and energy to keep up.
-Oscar has the ability to manipulate reality around him. This power is technically limitless, but he can very scarcely control it to do what he wants, as in 2% of the time.
Weaknesses
-Oscar has very little control over most his power. He can do things by accident or they won't happen when he wants them to.
-Using any power except his alternate form for too long can seriously tire him out since the energy comes from himself.
-Since his sense are amped up in his other form, almost any form of pain is debilitating to him when in his ether form.
-Oscar can exhaust his powers, leaving him unable to use his powers while he rebuilds his stock of ether energy over the next couple of days.

Backstory:
Oscar was born in the south of England, his parents supposedly being completely ordinary humans who had the bad luck of having a son who could become incorporeal. Imagine first time parents having to deal with that. Once he was old enough to realise that his odd power scared his parents, Oscar worked on containing it, trapping all ether he felt within himself and making sure that nothing bad happened because of him. He knew this wasn't a healthy thing to do, so he found a secluded spot on a private, disused beach to unleash his power and make sure that it didn't build up to dangerous levels.
It was when Oscar was in university that things got dire. He was too far from anywhere secluded to get rid of his energy safely, not to mention no time in between social meets, school, and work. Eventually the power found its own way out, destroying half of the school's library before he could get it under control. Luckily no one was too seriously hurt, but Oscar knew he might not always be so lucky. It was then that Oscar started looking for a way to control his power properly, his friends and family helping too.
It took two years for them to find out about Hero Incorporated. It was hard to get word to them, but it paid off, the organisation agreeing to train Oscar in how to use his powers as well as continue his education and give him lodging while he trained. Having already finished his course at uni, he quit his job, citing personal reasons, and headed to the Corp's base. He's been there for one and a half years, training to keep his power in check and unleash it safely.
Personality:
Oscar has never had the intention of being a hero. He is quite happy to just live a normal life in the UK and have a normal, boring job, and has never really wanted to stand out. He's fine with being in the background, letting others take the glory and do the explaining while he just gets on with getting on. As such, he tends to avoid things he doesn't really want to be involved in, one of the reasons he's only been on a couple of missions when everyone else goes on one about once a month.
He's also open, not liking to keep secrets from people, and he expects honesty in return. He does understand that some secrets are best kept, well, secret, but he thinks that most things are best out in the open so they can't be used against anyone. He doesn't keep secrets himself, though his definition of 'not a secret' can be pretty loose. He doesn't just tell everyone everything, but he won't lie in response to a question.
