❖ “i can’t sleep.” it was a bad reason for showing up unannounced, but nikolas wasn’t making up excuses; rather, it was the first thing that popped into his head as a way of explaining himself, his hands buried deep into the pockets of his hoodie as he offered a shrug. “i can’t sleep and i was… thinking about you.” it might have seemed silly, but the admission was a struggle in itself for him. nikolas had spent too many years on his own for human connection to come easily for him. “fuck, i’m always thinking about you. and i hate how we ended things. how i made things hard for you, for us.” his lips pressed together in a thin line, for a moment, mulling over his words and hoping they’d make enough sense for them; guarding himself had never really gotten siva anywhere, but it was a tough habit to break. “can i come in?”
