Evolution (Or if you watched the English dub, Digivolution) is the process in which Digimon grow and change, progressing through their evolution stages or levels. Generally, the process is slow going, with the Digimon needing to gather data over time. However those partnered with a Tamer are able to temporarily evolve into more powerful levels if the situation calls for it. The Digimon draws energy from their Tamer's emotions as well as the bond between the Tamer and Partner. Generally the Digivice acts as the catalyst for the evolution, but later levels will require different methods.
Stages of Evolution
Some of you will notice the names don't really match up with either the original or dubbed versions.
The original levels were: DigiTama > Baby I > BabyII >Child > Adult > Perfect > Ultimate
Dubbed versions chose: DigiEgg > Fresh > In Training > Rookie > Champion > Ultimate > Mega
So why the different naming conventions here? A mix of personal preference and the fact most are going to know the dub level names.
