~Bo...~

The sound of metal rattling and a thud could be heard as Bo fell within the very ground itself. A hole appearing and he could feel himself falling. He watched with curious unblinking entertainment. Spinning the bo over his head then soon enough Bo's feet were off the ground. He landed on his side, in a defensive position. A subtle posture, but he was covering his most vital spots. Despite faling down a five meter hole in the ground, his demeanor hadn't changed much. If anything he spoke more eagerly and with enthusiasm.

*ka-thud!*

"Do it! I wanna see it and do that too! I bet if I see it again, I can copy it" He said eagerly. He looked at the robed man in confusion, and his smile faded away.

"I'm speaking plain as day is done. Not my fault your not paying attention to detail. Shape up. Be better... but anyways! Me, Mark and Bill were supposed to come here and get resources and stuff. Spread the good Vagabond word. Come to think of it... I never saw no hide nor hair of Bill or Mark... They are either in the other side still or they got here before I did!" He said. His face turned into a grin when he began speaking about his comrades. Then it soured again.

"Those bastards left me here alone!! They're probably out here somewhere running around without me! We're the vagabonds! I can't believe you never heard of us" Bo said gesturing to the Vagabond symbol. Three blue dots within an orange triangle.

"We're real good at our job and shit! We deal trade and engineering services for a reasonable price. Me? I don't fix shit I just bring stuff back to be pieced together again. I'm a seeker, you see... metals. Coppers and wires. Rubber and plastics ,but only if it's good. Bad plastic gets Bo yelled at again. I don't want to get yelled at again. Maybe find a cutie or two on the way, know what I'm talking about...? Find some baddies! If you want, I can put in a good word for you, or better! We can look together! Maybe find some resources to gather first. Wheres your car? And where's the nearest highway and or nearest megacity?" Bo said.

"My point is, we're good people and were helpful and stuff. You help me, I help you! We take care of our friends. Nobody gets done dirty. We're professional like that. Does that tickle your pickle or should I keep going? I can talk all day. I'm not even hungry and even if I was I got snacks so you don't even need to worry about me. Speaking me. Who's you and where are we? What kind of a heehaw place is this?"
Bo continued, probably giving more information than the poor man needed or wanted to know. Then finishing off by asking his own question. Though being in a five meter post Did keep Bo from standing up any time soon, so he continued to lay there and wait for the yellow robed man, to tell him it was okay to stand up. He was stupid, but he knew when someone had an advantage over him and wasn't gonna intentionally piss them off.

Paxon

It did not take long for the tent to be prepared—a matter of seconds. Considering the sheer amount of people attending to the king and this rift, it came as little surprise.

Paxon himself kept watch over the rift for that brief moment, not budging until he and the others were ready to be received. He anticipated more trouble would come from that rift, but so far it seemed the worst to emerge was three jokers. He knew not to underestimate them, though; the joker was a wild card, an unknown. There he was, staring at three of them.

Once he set aside his war scythe and entered the tent, the feeling of being watched lifted, but a new presence would soon make itself known. A foreign noise like a dolorous bell ringing in reverse and a blue light filled the tent. A seven-foot specter materialized towards the back—a being of churning darkness with two magenta orbs of light for eyes. Its midnight-purple robes billowed ominously, despite there obviously being no breeze. One could also see through the image, as though the being wasn't physically present in the tent.

"My, what strange times these are..." it started, its voice sounding like that of an aged woman. "... for an envoy from Huye, a king of sunlight, and a psychopomp knight to join with three strangers from beyond this world." She raised a slender hand gently. "Be not afraid. I am Galane, Governor of the Necropolis and the one who was scrying on all of you but a moment ago. On behalf of our denizens, I thank you for your cooperation in this mission. By allowing the loyal Paxon and his acquaintance passage, you have secured two great allies in this crisis."

Paxon himself was inscrutable, as his shroud concealed any body language. It seemed Galane herself wanted to do the talking, and he would gladly oblige her.

Xiu
efab9cf2bc7275e2236375270e9ea629.pngThe spirit soother nodded her head at Paxon’s affirmation.

“Of course,” she said. Her eyes turned to the strange group of outsiders, “I would speak with them if I may.”

As Xue walked with Paxon, she couldn’t help but notice the waves of suffering that radiated off of him. Was he in pain? At first she had worried it was the seeds of corruption taking root, yet she could not sense the excessive malice typical of evil spirits. Instead her eyes followed the spirit’s line of sight to find the king standing at the end of it.

Now that they were closer, Xiu could sense a certain warmth coming from the man, like rocks that had soaked up the afternoon heat. Curiously enough, it was an aura not too unlike the empress Yonai. If this were the case, then it was no wonder a being of death would find discomfort.

She frowned slightly, pondering how she could provide aid to the discomforted spirit. Would her spirit arts cause only more harm? As she pondered this the king summoned everyone to a nearby tent, and yet another spirit made their appearance. It was none other than the great spirit of the necropolis, a telltale sign that things were just as dire as Xiu feared.

When the crowd moved their way into the tent Xiu followed after Jack and his supposed gang. Once they were in the tent she approached them. As always, Xiu gave Jack a respectful bow first before offering the same to the younger two.

“Greetings. Spirit soother Xiu at your service.” She said politely. When she raised her head, her red gaze fell onto Fira and Atem. “Please forgive my curtness, but I have heard that you three have come from the tear. I do not know where you hail from, and yet I sense that you are possessed by dark energy, much like evil spirits in my homeland. Tell me, are you aware of this? I would offer my aid.”

Xiu looked at the two, scanning their expressions. In Huye, when a demon was exposed it would grow angry and wild. This was one of the first steps of an exorcism, and would aid a soother in removing it from its host. These two, however, seemed different. Xiu feared that whatever had taken hold of them would not be so easily cleansed.

Sharktooth JackJack 6_2.jpg
If Jack could have ripped the tongues from their heads without arousing suspicion, he would have done it. Every word from either of them only drove his guise further into the ground. The slave especially cared only for the will of the Gilded Mother. Jack had grown up with fairy tales of her and stories of people hunting her wealth in the Plains of Gold. Jack himself had joined the hunt for a number of weeks before the realisation that a full stomach did much more for morale than the promise of prize beyond measure. Nevertheless, the Gilded Mother’s will meant nothing in a world beyond and sticking solely to that goal could mean all their dooms.

“Our companionship began only recently, forgive those who may be more… reluctant. We should speak more inside.”
Jack followed behind the king, paying close attention to the armoured woman, so much so that he barely noticed the robed woman approaching them. Her priestly attire meant nothing to him, though her words snapped him back into focus.

Spirit Soother? Perhaps they really were a priest of some kind. Expelling darkness and tending to the ill were all traits Jack associated with men or women of faith. The idea of dark spirits was new to him, though. Did she mean a mental darkness or the undead. Jack thought he had seen both in his time, and truly hoped it was only the former with them that day. He sure knew it was still with him.
“Aye, I am aware,” Jack said, looking straight at the golden woman without a hint of subtlety, “but more inside. I do not trust prying eyes.”

Jack made his way into the tent, keeping a close eye on the ever-present royal guard, stopping dead in his tracks on seeing the tall ghastly figure. Jack’s hand shot to the sword at his side as he readied his stance.
“If you seek dark spirits, look no further,” Jack hissed to Xiu. Jack had never come across a person-sized monster. Perhaps, like Chubi, they were part of a larger swarm, or maybe they take the vague form of something one would recognise. Either way, it threatened everything.

Gemini Quaid
"You've put your affairs in order, correct?" were the first words Sargent Michel greeted Gem with as he stepped out of the cruiser escorting him, "Last will and testament?"

"Everything goes to Marv," Gem slammed the cruiser door shut and slapped the roof to send the driver back to the precinct for another assignment. He looked back up to meet Michel's unimpressed stare. "Yes," Gem huffed, "I got everything in order."

It was overwhelmingly grim to have one of the requirements for this assignment be that he prepare his family (If he had one, that was) and assets for his very likely death once he stepped foot through the rift. No one knew what was going on with the thing and the last ( and only) expedition came back in body bags. There was no real way to test its properties or to even guarantee safety for anyone who went through, so the precinct was practically throwing shit at a wall to see what would stick. Nobody but Gem had been brave (Re: Stupid) enough to volunteer.

"Good. Follow me, we need to get you situated," Michel waved for Gem to follow, lifting the yellow police tape high enough for him to duck under.

The Flow Casino stood impressively tall even by megacity-skyscraper standards. It was a beacon of bright gold neon-light, opulent and gaudy in equal measures. The driveway was sectioned off by police cruisers, barriers, tape, and officers shoving away the crowd of reporters and ultra-wealthy, the former looking for a story and the latter furious they were being denied entrance to their playground. Near the front doors, a number of SWAT vans were parked alongside Disease Control trucks. The Federal Investigators had yet to arrive, and once they did they'd doubtlessly try to steal command of the investigation.

"The Corpos have been in an uproar since we closed the casino," Michel said as he led Gem into the building and through the empty reception area, "We've ruined afternoon plans city-wide. Thank god we're not privatized or our budget would be nil after a stunt like this."

"We're not privatized yet," Gem stressed. He knew some corporations had been attempting to push the city council into handing over the responsibility of funding the MCPD to them for years now. Some corpos had succeeded in buying out the police in other megacities, and Gem dreaded the day it could happen to the MCPD.

Michel huffed at his words but didn't argue. "A few favors were called to get Disease Control's help on this one-you saw their trucks outside, didn't you?-and they're on standby near the rift. They'll prep you the best they can. Through there," Michel motioned for him to take the lead to the main operations area.

A yellow tarp tent had been set up around the portal, disease control having seen fit to treat the rift as a hazardous object. Michel took charge, ordering the hazmat-clad Disease Control operatives to get Gem fitted with a gas mask and for the MCPD members to get into position.

They'd decided to err on the side of caution and outfitted Gem with an entire hazmat suit with a backpack of spare filters to wear over his outfit. Michel grabbed a black case from the MCPD side of the room and dropped it onto a blackjack table in front of Gem. He winced as Michel popped it open to reveal a carbine rifle.

Gem shut the case and slid it back to Michel, meeting the man's raised eyebrow.

"Are you sure you won't take it?" Michel asked, "We can't guarantee your safety once you cross the rift."

"If there's life on the other side, I'd rather not be responsible for a multi-universal political incident," Gem justified, "And besides, I've already got my service pistol."

Michel shrugged and picked the case back up. "Suit yourself. Our desk jockeys will try keeping track of you from this side. Don't get yourself in a bind, we won't send a rescue team for you," With that, Michel stepped away from the portal, "good luck."

Stepping up to the edge of the rift, Gem took a deep breath to steady himself. Looking over his shoulder, he asked "Hey, Michel? I'm getting hazard pay for this, right?"

Michel stopped, stared at Gem for a moment, and continued walking.

"Rat bastard..." Gem muttered before plunging himself through the rift.

Veliar stood confused, He looked towards the rift that he had just seen a man jump through. "Crackhead." Veliar then noticed Marv talking to a small creature, Was it a cat? No it couldnt. It was standing on its hind legs... Was he going mad. No of course not. If living in Midnight City taught him anything its that never believe anything, Unless your willing to believe everything. "Ill just take a quick look..." Veliar chuckled as he walked closer to the scene. Suddenly a random officer stopped him. "Sir, Your not allowed any closer." Veliar just chuckled, Then he chuckled again, Then he chuckled again, Then he chuckled again, Then he chuckled again, Then he chuckled again, Then he chuckled again, Then he chuckled again, Then he chuckled again, Then he chuckled again. Suddenly a glint of light reflected off of the air behind the man.

Pretty quickly Veliar was uncloaked standing near the rift looking at it curiously. He noticed Marv once more and tried to move from his vicinity. "Oh shit..." Veliar looked around to see for a way to escape. "Come on, Come on. Any way to escape." There wasnt one. Veliar looked grim. He walked towards Marv hoping he could say he got lost. "Mr. Marv, Erm... I got lost. Again." Veliar tried looking as innocent as possible.

Suddenly Veliar realized he had made a mistake that might end his life. He tried to create another hologram but... It failed. It failed horribly. Suddenly he began to shake violently. "AHHH FUCK!" Veliar screamed in horrible agony. "H-HELP ME MARV! LOCK ME UP! WHATEVER JUST HELP ME!" Veliar was balling, He looked like he wished he was dead. Veliar had created a clone but it just stood behind him flickering on and off. "S-Should have charged my projecto- AHHHHHH!"

Atwen

location: Edosal Garrison tent, Edosal Kingdom
interactions: Jack, King Greymoore, Xiu, Paxon, Fira, guard assomble

Atwen thanked the many eldritch gods that the king somehow bought their excuse for partnership. At the comment about his other friend, Atwen smiled wide, "Yes, don't mind her; I told them we shouldn't have brought her," using his hand to block the side she was on as if it would help her not here, "She always has had issues with her violent tendencies." of course Atwen had no idea who she was but still gave the others an innocent smile.
1678288908422.png
For now, Atwen decided it would be best to stay with the group for a while; it would be much easier to find information while he was under the guise of someone important from his world. Using Jack to maintain distance between himself and Fira, he followed the group into the tent. Once inside the tent, Atwen was introduced to two new members. Atwen was about to introduce himself when a serious question left Xiu's lips.

Atwen's body tensed, eyes flickering to the sickly, long fingers that began twirling through a strand of Xiu's bangs. Of course, to everyone else, they saw nothing. A cough bubbled in Atwen's throat. Covering his mouth, he pushed the cough back as best he could, swallowing the dark liquid that coated his throat before the other's noticed. The eldritch being smiled with its many teeth as it gently wrapped its fingers around her throat. Xiu began to choke, clawing at the hands against her throat. The life faded from her eyes as it dropped her to the ground.

when Atwen blinked again, Xiu was the same as she was to everyone else; the eldritch being now sat on the floor, idly twirly an eyeball in its hand, "ℑ𝔰𝔫'𝔱 𝔰𝔥𝔢 𝔱𝔥𝔢 𝔯𝔲𝔡𝔢 𝔬𝔫𝔢," it sneered, "𝔄 𝔰𝔭𝔦𝔯𝔦𝔱? 𝔚𝔥𝔞𝔱 𝔞𝔫 𝔦𝔫𝔰𝔲𝔩𝔱; 𝔗𝔥𝔬𝔲𝔤𝔥 ℑ 𝔠𝔞𝔫 𝔫𝔬𝔱 𝔡𝔢𝔫𝔶 𝔱𝔥𝔢 𝔦𝔫𝔱𝔯𝔦𝔤𝔲𝔢 𝔬𝔣 𝔥𝔬𝔴 𝔮𝔲𝔦𝔠𝔨𝔩𝔶 𝔰𝔥𝔢 𝔠𝔞𝔲𝔤𝔥𝔱 𝔬𝔫... 𝔱𝔥𝔦𝔰 𝔬𝔫𝔢 𝔦𝔰 𝔡𝔢𝔣𝔦𝔫𝔦𝔱𝔢𝔩𝔶 𝔦𝔫𝔱𝔢𝔯𝔢𝔰𝔱𝔦𝔫𝔤," the twirling stopped as it stared into Atwen. Atwen let his gaze fall to the ground, refusing to hold eye contact. "𝔚𝔥𝔶 𝔡𝔬𝔫'𝔱 𝔶𝔬𝔲 𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔶 𝔠𝔩𝔬𝔰𝔢 𝔱𝔬 𝔱𝔥𝔦𝔰 𝔩𝔦𝔱𝔱𝔩𝔢 𝔣𝔞𝔴𝔫 𝔞𝔫𝔡 𝔰𝔢𝔢 𝔴𝔥𝔞𝔱 𝔢𝔩𝔰𝔢 𝔰𝔥𝔢 𝔠𝔞𝔫 𝔡𝔬? ℑ'𝔡 𝔥𝔞𝔱𝔢 𝔣𝔬𝔯 𝔞 𝔭𝔯𝔬𝔟𝔩𝔢𝔪 𝔱𝔬 𝔟𝔩𝔬𝔬𝔪 𝔦𝔫𝔱𝔬 𝔞𝔫 𝔞𝔫𝔫𝔬𝔶𝔦𝔫𝔤 𝔡𝔬𝔢."

Atwen's eyes returned to focus again, having completely missed Jack's words. Returning to the conversation, Atwen offered the spirit healer a smile, "I can assure you I am possessed by no evil spirit and require no aid," offering a mock curtsey, Atwen's smile turned mischievous, "the name's Atwen, a pleasure to meet you all." returning to standing Atwen couldn't help himself from observing the exits as he half listened to the group.

Fira could not take her eyes off the woman. She was... Beautiful

Before entering the tent, Fira noticed the boy cowering behind Jack. Jack. That's what the armoured man had called him. Such a simple name for a man of seemingly utmost importance to the Mother. Fira sneered at the boy but didn't reach for her weapon. This wasn't the time nor the place. The vile filth inside him would soon show. When that happens, no one would argue with Fira's desire to pulverise him.

The man who introduced himself as the ruler of this land had led them into a tent. But it was unlike any tent she had ever seen. There was carpet—carpet!—and tables and more space than anyone would ever need in a tent. The man had said that this, the land of Edosal, was his 'domain'. In her world, that word was reserved for the waters of Eldritch Beings: Mother's Hold and the Plains of Gold were the Gilded Mother's domain. But this man clearly wasn't an Eldritch Being, though judging from how he was being treated and how he carried himself, perhaps he commanded just as much power as one would.

Then, there she was. The beautiful woman. Nothing could match the Mother's brilliance, of course, but Spirit Soother Xiu was perhaps the second most beautiful person Fira had laid eyes on. She was too stunned to speak, so the boy took the opportunity to respond to her greeting. He introduced himself as Atwen. Xiu so took Fira that she barely noticed the two other creatures in the room, one clad in armour and a cloak, and the other a formless, shadowy figure. No one else seemed too bothered by their presence though, save for Jack who reached for his sword, so Fira decided to follow suit. Creatures such as these must be normal in Edosal. She turned her attention back to Xiu and awkwardly mimicked her bow.

"My name is Fira." Her words came out as a nervous whisper, then she cleared her throat and continued. "I was gifted with the Gilded Mother's love and blessings. She is not the darkness; she is light... Radiant, golden light. She has made me far more than I ever was and ever could have been."

Before Fira could carry on, she sensed it again. Atwen's foul stench, but ten-fold. The poisonous filth he had contracted with was paying him a visit. Fira could not see him, she knew only the one who contracted with an Eldritch Being could communicate with them in such a fashion, but she could sense enough to know it was here. The stench seemed more concentrated in Xiu's general direction. Fira glared at it, her hands reflexively forming fists so tight that cracks formed along her knuckles, birthing new golden light. She resisted the urge to spit forth her lamprey and bite a chunk out of Atwen's throat.

Not the time nor the place, she reminded herself. She would see where this meeting went first and, most importantly, Jack's intentions. And... Perhaps... Knowing what Spirit Soother Xiu intended to do next couldn't hurt.

efab9cf2bc7275e2236375270e9ea629.pngSo they had only recently met? That would explain the disorganized manner of their actions. The elder was also aware of the unwholesome energy, which only sparked more questions in Xiu’s mind. He requested that they enter the tent before answers were given, and Xiu dipped her head in gentle agreement. It was a simple enough thing to ask, though it did make her weary to wonder what sort of eyes he wished to avoid.

“As you wish. Let us move then.” she said.

Inside the tent, the introductions continued. The tall, sickly man was the first to speak, though used his words only to shift attention back to the golden woman Jack had already spoken of. According to the thin-man, he was aware of the golden one’s violent tendencies, and yet the elder had told her they had all met recently. Xiu shifted her eyes between them for a moment, but returned her careful gaze back to Atwen.

She saw him tense up, a subtle thing, and yet one that did not go unnoticed. His nonchalant gaze was pointed at her, and yet Xiu couldn’t help but feel as if his eyes were looking at something else. Before he covered a cough, she could have sworn a look of disgust or fear passed over his sallow features.

He may have assured her that no evil spirits possessed him, and yet Xue could sense a skittering miasma over him. Perhaps it did not belong to what Huye knew to be evil spirits, but it bore dark omens all the same. No amount of sweet words or smiles would convince her over what her inner senses saw. For now she would exercise vigilance and patience, like uncoiling the deadly thorns of the adder-vine for its fragrant fruit. To traverse the forbidden land, one would have to see with eyes unclouded.

Xiu took a small breath to calm her spirit then smiled thinly. “The pleasure is mutual, Atwen. It reassures me to know that your will is still your own. It means darkness has not yet claimed your heart.”

It was surprising that after all this talk about her violent impulsiveness, the golden one had not spoken up until now. Strangely, Xiu could sense a great unrest from the woman, a nervousness that flickered through the dark energy enshrouding her. Even without her attuned senses, her mortal ears could clearly hear the shakiness in her voice. It left Xiu rather confused. Mere minutes ago the woman had been prepared to charge into combat without a hint of fear. Was it perhaps the evil spirit realising it had been caught? That being said, the reaction was far too tame to belong to a possessive spirit.

The surprises didn't end there. Xiu watched the woman bow, the first to have extended the familiar Huyean greeting to her in the Forbidden Lands. The form was clumsy and unpracticed, and yet the effort brought a warmth to Xiu’s heart.

Xiu’s eyes softened, growing into a look of muted sadness when the woman, who introduced herself as Fira, told her of a “Gilded Mother” and her “love”. The spirit soother frowned lightly with worry, a deep pain in her chest.

Her eyes fell upon Fira’s stoney skin, bleeding out golden light wherever the dark shell crumbled and ruptured. It had a certain haunting beauty to it, like the ruins left behind on the Kinyan peaks. Just like those ruins, Xiu could not shake the reasons hiding beneath the brilliant exterior. To have been made into ‘something more’ was a sentiment Xiu had heard many times in the utterings of madmen. Little did they know that for them to feel so whole was only made possible by having first been hollowed out until all that was left of them was a vessel to fill.

Of all the possessions, infatuation was perhaps the most insidious.

Yet just as it had been with Atwen, Xiu could not sense the same grip of evil-spirits that was typical of one possessed. It was clear that whatever she was dealing with was beyond her realm of understanding in the spirit-soothing arts. This revelation deeply unsettled her, yet there was little she could do for now other than cultivate an understanding and move forward into the unknown.

Xiu smiled in greeting, her expression serene despite the restless thoughts in her mind. “I see. Well, it is my pleasure to meet you, Fira. If time would allow for it, I would be interested to hear more of this “Mother” and the land you all come from. Perhaps it would help me to find answers…”

Just when things couldn't get any stranger, another psychopomp appeared in their midst. Xiu was quick to notice Jack’s change of stance, one mirrored by a few of the guards, and immediately made her efforts to diffuse the situation.

“Be at ease, elder.” she said to Jack, motioning him to hold his sword, “This is no evil spirit. Tainted, perhaps, but of no malice towards you and your allies. I believe she must seek the same answers as I do, and hopes to return lost souls to their rightful places…”

Xiu knew precious little about Galane and her lot, mainly just from the history of Huye spirits and their interaction with the Forbidden Lands. Anything that she had been directly taught about the necropolis was always in a very negative light, which Xiu was not keen to share at the moment. Had Galane not given her name, it was likely that Xiu wouldn’t have recognized the leader of the necropolis at all.
The spirit soother moved forward and bowed respectfully to the great spirit, “It is an honour, Galane. Today is indeed an auspicious one, though I wish it were for happier reasons. I am Xiu, at your service. On behalf of the spirits, we greet you.”

When she had finished with her formal greeting, Xiu’s eyes scanned the gathered people. If the guards at the entrance had been any indication, the people of Edosal may be ignorant to the nature of the necropolis. At the very least, she hoped that her actions would bring some measure of peace. If not, she was prepared to calm them.

Her guqin rested silently on her back, slung on its silken ribbon. Should diplomacy fail, she would use the instrument as a last resort.

She paused, wondering how much she should say around the others, but decided on the clarity of honesty. When all are threatened, all should work together in union. “Is it true what Paxon says? Have souls been lost into this rift? The spirits of Huye have sensed its disturbance, yet this is greater than what we feared.”

Veliar took a moment before actually realizing he was making a mistake, He pulled out his gas mask. Something he kept on his person. Being highly ranked in the Corpo has some benefits after all. He doesn't know much about these 'Rifts' but he knows how to survive one. He jumped away from Marv as he put it on and took a swan dive into the rift before saying "Fuck you, Marv!!!" He flew into the rift with such determination he seemed like he was diving into a pool.

Veliar felt odd. Darkness surrounded him like a harsh wind or the beating sun. But at the same time he felt nothing. It was silent and dark his voice echoed as he spoke "What the..." He heard the sound of water swirling as he stepped the clip clop of his steps seemed to have caused him to shudder. His voice shuddered slightly as he spoke "W-What..." Veliar was still scared but he walked forward he tried his best not to scream as he feared there was something in there with him.

So naturally, Veliar began running through the tunnel before landing in The Realm Of Legends, He looked around at the light and began to smile realizing he was out of the strange location, He took a few shuddering breaths before taking off his gasmask while walking forward. Suddenly a strange man in strange clothes caught the eye of Veliar.

Moments later Veliar noticed someone. They looked like a biker or a criminal from Midnight city. He walked curiously towards them, Veliar attempted to wipe off of his suit before staring down at his shoes expecting them to look soaked. But strangely they were completely clean. "How odd..." Veliar said as he walked towards this person before pulling out a small wipe and wiping his shoes before speaking to this person, "Are you from Midnight City?".

Well, things got a bit weird. She saw the first one getting into the rift by using his companions as decoy but now there's another one jumping into it by faking a epileptic attack? The people here really likes going into the rift huh.

"You sure have your hands full, chief." Pudica commented after she watched the second person jumped into the rift.

"Let me tell you on the other side of this rift is the Krena Theocracy, one of the most influental kingdom there. Having those stragglers become the first ones to come in contact might cause some future problems, mya."
Pudica had an amused grin on her face when she imagined the two kingdoms ended up going in war because some petty misunderstanding. It's a silly scenario, but she wouldn't cross the possibility out. Humans do love war afterall.

"So, chief. How about I help you? I will tell you what I know about the rift and also help to bridge this kingdom with Krena. In return I simply wants maximum accomodation whenever I stays in this place." She offered. Pudica might not have a particular goal right now but securing native's support would be high in her priority.

"By the Gods, be Quiet!" The robed man exclaimed, his voice almost cracked from sheer frustration, "You shall remain here and wait until-" the robed man halted his speech at the sight of another individual exiting the rift. The robed man observed him carefully watching the individual approach the blabbering one. With each step the Robed man gripped his staff tighter. When the new one approached close enough, the robed spun his staff around as he'd down previously, channeling magic at the tip, yet instead of slamming the staff down, the robed man ended the motion with an upwards strike narrowly missing Veliar.

The ground shook once more and beneath Veliar's feet, a pillar of dirt emerged, pushing Veliar up with it and launching him into the air, landing him ontop of Bo, crowding the already uncomfortable hole. "Stay put, or by the Gods as my witnesses, I shall crush you both."

The king slowly strode towards the tent as it was being prepared, placing himself at the head of a decently long table, yet before he could even utter a word, the being known as Galane appeared half visibly. "Well that answers that." he spoke in a positive note, retreating his right hand, inches away from the hilt of his blade which only moments ago was hanging loosely from his body. "I have yet to decide much really, more importantly, as the King of these lands I think I should know what you want to do with the rift." the king explained, "Spying on me and not really being present doesn't convey the right message you know?" the king said, waiting for a response from Galane.

Before another word could be uttered by anyone in the tent, a guard rushed into the tent, "Your Highness!" the guard exclaimed as they quickly knelt down only to rise again at a mere gesture from the king. "Another individual was found walking out of the Rift, but this one collapsed mere moment after stepping out." Two more guards entered the tent, holding a robed and masked individual by the shoulders, the individual appeared unconscious, only to have the man start violently coughing, with a bit of blood leaving the holes of the mask. The individual started hyperventilating, his breathing slowing down until he took one deep breath, the sense seemingly returning to the man.

Shocked, the king looked at the man, "You alright?" The man did not answer immediately, but after staring at the king for a bit, the man gave a nod. "Great, now tell me, are you with him?" the King asked, pointing his finger at Jack

With the police already overwhelmed by the swelling crowed building up, it was little surprise that more were slipping by. A corpo slipping through however was not entirely expected. Marv didn't bother moving, corpo's were always a pain and if this one wanted to potentially die going through the rift, Marv wouldn't mind. Marv didn't even flinch at what appeared to be a performance by the corpo, later jumping in not before insulting him. Marv couldn't have cared less, however with the Corpo's action and face now recorded by Marv, the police would easily be able to detain Veliar should he ever come out of the Rift alive.

"A theocracy you say?" Marv was puzzled, but intrigued. His first priority would be to secure the safety of the cat(?) and to prevent the corpos from getting their greasy hands on her. "Very well, we should relocate to a more peaceful place where we can discuss your help and the accomodations." Marv lowered himself, offering his hand as a sort of platform for Pudica to stand and hold onto. The sound of the crowd was replaced by the sound of a police hovercraft, arriving just above of them. From above police officers landed onto the ground reinforcing the defenses surrounding the rift, to quell the chaos.

From asa's perspective, their view of the camera's was getting more static as another alert popped up, repeating what the previous one had.

Gemini took the first step out of the rift, the first thing he felt was the noise returning to his ears as his step caused a metallic creak. The light however wasn't as overwhelming, only a dim room but somewhat spacious room. From looking around Gem saw the room was metallic in nature, crude and primitive compared to the offices of the police station or even the slums. The smell was powerful too, it smelt salty and the air was damp. Before he could consider anything else however, infront of him stood a sort of door, round and impractical, it seemed more fit for a vault, with a circular handle to match.

Before trying anything Gem approached the door and gave it a knock to see if there was anyone there. His knock alone echoed withing the room, it was loud and obnoxious, yet even after waiting for a minute, he received no response, only silence. Thus did Gem decide to try his luck at opening the door, placing both hands on the handle and turning it one direction. At first he struggled, but then the handle moved all by itself, with a clicking noise signifying it was open. With his body weight Gem slowly pushed the door open.

His eyes however did not prepare him for what he was about to see. Looking at either side he could see similar entrances to the one he'd just opened, each one elevated from the main floor, each with stairs leading to it. The most jarring part however was the glass surface the split the rooms, one half inside and the other half outside. It was a dark blue, it didn't look like the night sky, it didn't even look like a sky at all, perhaps the only time he ever saw something similar was with a fish tank. His eyes also caught the sight of a man lying with his back to the wall, his head lowered and snoring.

~Bo...!~

Bo laid there on the ground. He looked up at the robed man. Bo was still laying there on the ground, he tilted his head back, and squinted his eyes. He shook his head as if judging the man for his outburst. Bo didn't say a thing but his expression said it all. Bo heard the man outside the hole, and found something off about his tone. The way he spoke felt off to Bo, but he didn't really get a good look at him, seeing how he was deep in a hole in the ground.

"Did he even listen to a word I said?" Bo wondered to himself. it didn't matter since Bo was not getting up any time soon. Not that it'd mattered much since he was mildly comfy down there. The dirt was soft and cool. He could almost go to sleep down there. Like a final resting place. Not that he wanted that to be his final resting place, but he was content. Life was going on and he was fine and dandy. If he had any more peace of mind, he'd be meditating.

Bo wondered if he could scratch his nose, seeing how that meant he was moving, but technically the man never said he couldn't move. Merely stay there. He wondered which one he meant.

"Did you say to stay here or don't move?" Bo asked the robed man. After a few moments he scratched his nose. The itchy feeling was too unbearable.

"Nose a lil itchy is all" He said again. As he laid there, he clacked his feet together.

Veliar sat calmly in the pit before asking "Can I get up? My suit isnt very easy to pay for." Veliar seems to be angry at the scruffness of his suit, He sat up angrily and said "Nevermind." He looked over at the freakshow next to him. "Creep." Veliar layed back down and gave the man the side eye and whispering "Hey, Are you from midnight city?" Veliar sat quietly in contemplation.

Sharktooth JackJack 6_2.jpg
Jack was seventeen when his father was hanged. In the same day, his brothers and sisters were taken by the state, save for his sister Katherine who went homeless alongside Jack. Even his mother was sent off to a cage barely fit for livestock. In a matter of days, Lord Shitmeat, or Reginald Whitlock to some, had taken everything in his life. He and Katherine spent years attempting to track down their siblings to no avail. They tried to appeal their mother’s sentence but were laughed out of the courtroom.

They spent their entire lives being beaten down again and again to entertain some distant crown whom Jack would never see or hear. Of course, he didn’t go by Jack at that age, he was prey then and went by a prey name. He knew then and there he would stop being prey for the rich and powerful. For the rest of his living days Sharktooth Jack would be the only one in control of his destiny.

Decades later, he stood by a long table made of exquisite wood he had never seen before. Opposite him sat none other than the King of Edosal. Jack rubbed his eyes, chasms forming in the wrinkles of his brow. Hunting titans was never easy but it was child’s play compared to diplomacy. This king was unlike any nobility he had ever met. He acted confused and without control of the situation. The woman in the armour did not, it was her kingdom as far as Jack was concerned.
When the guards dragged in another straggler, what little hope was left in Jack’s body crumbled. Keeping two people in line was difficult enough without raising his voice or making an example of them, three would be damn near impossible.

“Never seen him before in my life,” Jack said bluntly. He did not care that the man was bleeding from his face. Anybody who came through the In-Between knew the risks. It was up to the individual to be strong enough to survive. If the whelp couldn’t make it on his own, he didn’t deserve Jack’s support.

“I have not studied the rift, but as long as it is monitored I do not see a danger from it. The inside of the rift is hostile to life, so I do not believe there will be more following suit."
Jack pulled out a chair for Xiu as he sat down himself opposite the King. Xiu had been kind to him, helping explain the new world he did not fully understand. Like the spirit that was ‘tainted’ but not evil. Such an idea was foreign but he knew he needed to keep an open mind. There was so much more Jack did not understand, like as the instrument slung around Xiu's back, or the way the wind smelled on the other side of the rift. There was apple and cedar, and the pollen of distant fields of heather. Jack had always loved the smell of apple trees, they reminded him of the orchards outside Cape Fortune Jack would frequent with his first love. Those were simpler times when he still had two legs and a head of raven black hair.
"Perhaps if we could gather more resources we could find a way to travel between worlds more easily. I am sure there is much our home could offer yours for a fair price."
Jack put up a peg leg on the small field gun he had dragged in beside him.

Paxon

"Why do you appear uneasy?" Paxon questioned the outsiders, the faintest hint of stress still present. "No harm will come from the mere image of my senior." They surely had a brush (or twenty) with the unnatural prior to their arrival here, if their auras were any telling evidence.

"I understand such moves may be in poor taste in the minds of men, but unfortunately, I must confine myself to the Necropolis," Galane replied to the king. "Perhaps, when your time comes, you will understand why."

Continuing on, the governor explained her motives in detail: "As you may not know, the help of a psychopomp is a boon when a spirit is lost, misguided, or warped in some way. Though our methods differ, the spirit soothers and we work to similar ends. Recently, we noticed the opening of this rift—a foul anomaly that will yield nothing beneficial to our world. Wandering spirits mistake this for a gateway to their afterlife, and a few have already entered. That is why I have sent Paxon; he must save those souls and... together, we must close the rift."

With the arrival of another person through the rift, Paxon was on high alert. He left the tent and fetched his scythe. "Yet another enters this realm. What would possess them to enter the rift, and how many more will succumb to the temptation?" he grumbled aloud.

~Surprise Bo Post...!~

Bo was laying there like a sunbather. Too calm to move a muscle. He listened to Veliar go on and explain his frustration

Can I get up?

"Don't need to" Bo chimed in.

My suit isnt very easy to pay for.

"So wash it with some soap an' water or somthin' " Bo said carefreely waving his hand at Veliar.

"Sticks and stones, mate" Bo said before letting out a yawn. Bo paused as Veliar asked if he was from Midnight City. He lived near midnight City and been there more than a few times. He knew his way around certain alley ways and parts of Midnight City, but as a Vagabond, he did not live in Midnight City nor did he go there often.

"No. No Midnight City. Don't like it. Only good for two things. Wild women and money. Might as well get comfy. I know I'm snug as a bug in a rug" Bo said. Unfortunately he didn't have much of either. He did however have plans to see what was good with this new place he was visiting. Maybe he'd get lucky and for those things here as well, but he wasn't going to get his hopes up just yet. First the robed man would have to let them leave. Second, he'd need to find a town and third was unimportant. He'd figure out what that was as he got there. For the moment, the only thing that mattered was staying comfy and waiting.

-Haha im taking your idea!-

Veliar sat there clearly angered by Bo's comments.
"Don't need to" Bo chimed in.
"Yes we do! This man just threw us in a pit!
"So wash it with some soap an' water or somthin' " Bo said carefreely waving his hand at Veliar.
"Do you think this is low quality enough for some soap and water!" Veliar now looked furious this backwater drifter rip-off biker low-life gangster broke looking mushroom-popping punk was just disregarding his elegant wear!

"Why are you stuttering you baboon!" Veliar just stopped listening to the man after this he zoned out and when he heard him talking again he lurched his fist trying to hit Bo in the chest. He wasnt going to let an ape disrespect him like this. All he heard was
Might as well get comfy. I know I'm snug as a bug in a rug"
Veliar thought to himself was "I think thats the most sane thing ive heard him say."
