Hailing from the Six Cities of Vinargal, Nyla spent most of her life there starting out as a poor street performer at the age of eight to make a meager living. Until she was taken in by another performer and taught how to sing, dance, and play the lute. At the age of fifteen she performed for various nobles and eventually became famous. Her success was always credited to witchcraft by jealous performers as her skill was unnatural for her age.
By many critics her success was credited to her unmatchable skill, but, the truth was that she had an uncanny ability to literally pour her emotion into her music. Those that heard her songs would be taken to different worlds and feel as if they were witnessing the actions in the songs. Each pluck of a string was a different brushstroke in the painting that was the song she performed, captivating her audience until the very end.
Her popularity reached an all-time high when she was twenty-three Nyla had forgotten the world she came from, forgot the days that she would starve in the streets and get pushed around. It wasn't until a demon attack on the six cities that she was snatched away from the rich world she thrived in and saw the plight of the people in the lower cities. She gave up her life in Vinargal, giving her wealth to various people in the slums and made her way to Scholomance, hearing of the those who actively fought back against the demons and aim to defeat Lucifer and Godiva in their respectful towers.
Upon her arrival in Scholomance she was taught over the course of four years how to better use her powers, extending the sphere of influence her music had on people. Now she works in the school's infirmary as well as holding classes after school hours to teach the students to sing, play the instrument, and dance. Her role in Scholomance may be small compared to the other teachers but when the time comes she is ready to give her all to win back their world.
Personality
Nyla is a very generous and benevolent woman; some would say she comes close to being a second-mother to them. Though students and teachers alike presume the good traits are all she has. When Nyla is faced with apathetic, rude, or glory-hound students she is sure to put them in their place – whether that be a stern verbal scolding or a physical deterrent from such behavior, it's really up to the student. On the battlefield she is focused, using every ounce of energy she can muster to keep her fellow hunters safe from harm – or as safe as they can get.
Abilities
Aura Manipulation ((Power Wiki)) – Each aura has a focal point on the body, a place where the energy is concentrated, and a color which it is associated with. The user can collect the energy around them and project it in to a single or multiple people depending on the user’s proficiency. The seven colors and locations are: red - the base of spine, orange - pelvic area, yellow - solar plexus, green - heart, blue - throat, indigo - forehead, and violet - crown of the head. Nyla has the ability to channel aura into herself then project it outwards through her music.
Red - Enhance to a specific physical ability: strength, endurance, speed, etc.
Orange - Channeling a virtue into someone: bravery, temperance, empathy, etc.
Yellow - Project energy outwards for offensive or defensive use.
Green - Purification of corrupt object. Souls take more time and can corrupt the user’s aura.
Blue - Link minds to enable telekinetic communication. Transmit a single thought to multiple minds.
Indigo - Change the perception of a single person or people in a surrounding area.
Violet - Unlock the user’s hidden potential. Can move aura without use of music or voice.
Healing Aura – Her own aura can be used to heal others, by allowing it to flow from around her body to the target. The sight of injury will begin to mend as time goes on, the drawback is the longer time she spends healing the weaker she becomes. This can lead to death if the severity of the wound is too great for her to heal.
