www Things were coming to a head. Standing before the tori of the Time god's shrine was the rigid form of a visitor. His hands —expertly unsheathing his polished blade— securely gripped the weapon's hilt with blazing confidence. With his symbolic robes painted with the text "武甕槌" on his back and his eyes electrified with the thought of what would come next, he strode onto the holy grounds. A voice was singing softly above the sound of the flapping wings of birds in the evening sky. The voice echoed like the eerie calling of a siren drawing in its victim as it continued. The singing amplified as the visitor drew closer to the lawn and porch of the shrine. She's here. He thought. A small shadowy figure could be made out in the dimmed-lit structure, sitting calmly on the porch in the moonlight, its amber eyes, looking up into the starry sky without a hint of interest or care in the changing scenery. The visitor gave a fierce look of intimidation in his eyes as he stared towards the figure in the moonlight. He drew closer, weapon in hand, as the singing of the figure came to a close.

www"This is for your own good." He spoke.

wwwYona was awoken from her slumber by the gentle sunlight bleeding through her bedroom window. She observed her surroundings, assuring herself that she was no longer in her dreams.

wwwStill slightly asleep, Yona stood up from her bed. The morning was over and she had once again underestimated that sleeping for three more minutes could to turn into three more hours, despite already acknowledging how sleep-deprived she was due to the occurring vision that had kept her awake for most of the night. It wasn't uncommon for the goddess of time to get visions in her sleep. More so, it had been a reoccurring event for the past couple of days ever since that happened.

wwwYona shrugged the thought from her mind tiredly, as she attempted to take a step forward before tripping and falling over on her long Rapunzel-like hair, landing on a couple of pillows that had fallen off her bed. Shortly composing herself, she made her way into the kitchen.

A phone buzzes off, the plastic hunk rattling. "You know who you've reached," the handsome young man spoke into the phone with a startling baritone voice, so stern and filled with jagged regard. There was a pause on the line while the young man turned face to an alleyway. With keen and deciphering ears did he listen to his patient as their shaking, grief-ridden voice went on and on. In a warm brilliance of heavenly divine light did he appear in front of his caller, "The wicked will be your deliverance. The depraved now your savior."

What is one to say about work? Work is drudgery, labor, and toil. People have come to agree that if you love what you do you'll never work a day in your life. It is then called your passion.

Atreus, a man who barely goes over the height limit, saunters the streets with a neutral, nonchalant expression donning upon his visage. In one hand is a brown paper bag that, very slowly, is beginning to have grease spots soak through and stain it. In the other was nothing, it was stowed away. Beyond that dejected face, dwelling deep in the Deity's mind was nothing but his thoughts to keep him company. It had been a whole month since he had snuck off during a stormy night to fulfill his life's passion. Thirty days since he had cut another down with nothing more than his nifty knife. All without a regailia mind you. Chisaki couldn't handle his passion, he wouldn't let her. As her savior, why damn her to a life so many others consider drab and depressing? Instead, he'll take her around wherever he ventures, he'll let her live as a wanderer by his side. He held some hope that would sate the young woman's avaricious thirst and longing for knowledge. She has no want to dabble in the gloom of this world, she had a joyous life full of friends. Her end was uncalled for, an injustice not even the gods could prevent. Just another everyday thing, he reckoned.

Another thought provoked his mind. If the humans had the gods, then who did the gods have? Who guards the guardians? Who could he rely on? He told himself that he was being difficult. Perhaps it was, because he wouldn't allow himself to lean on another. It was his own fault that it felt like he carried so much weight. He wouldn't share his burdens, so it's best to float back into a drift and stop his complaining. He could handle the consequences of his faults.

Raven locks of hair were blown by a lovely spring breeze, rending apart his hardened concentration. A spring breeze isn't arid and hot like a hot summer's gust nor bitter and biting like a winter's icy draft. It was a perfect balance and blend of both parts hot and cold, so mellow and so savory.

The hand resting in his ash black pants slipped and rose out. It splayed apart, his fingers weaving through his bangs and breaking apart any small knot that had formed in his silky hair. He wondered if his divine instrument had awoken. It wouldn't be surprising if she had stayed up all night to read over what books she happened to snag from the library. What a nerd. Loose gravel that had worn down deep into the soft earth below still would crunch ever so lightly beneath his footfall. This forgotten trail leads back into a shrine disregarded by man. It's only a five-minute walk from the beginning to the city, not that far, but secluded enough. Living in his lost shrine was humiliating, to say the least, but he got over what shame he had a long time ago. Had to in order to survive.

The door's looped cast iron bar was grasped hold of and then pulled on. The scraping of the wood against stone was audible enough for the "lazy" monster to stir up too. And if the door's noise wasn't enough, let's add some more on top of it, "Hey Chisaki!" He put on a bright act for his only friend. A believable state of relaxation and contentedness, nothing overdone nor underplayed. "Breakfast," he'd say boldly and aloud. Would food do the job? Would it awaken the mighty albino beast?

The noise made by Atreus as he entered his old shrine would have been enough to wake up any normal person, whether they be nearshore or far shore. However that noise wasn't enough to wake Chisaki whose brain was tired from reading very late into the early morning. In fact she wasn't even in her futon, instead she was laying on her back on the floor of the main room of the shrine right next to the table. Arms spread out beside her she had the book she was reading half covering her face half not. Her white hair messily surrounding her showed that she likely fell asleep in the position she was in rather then passing out and falling backwards.

Even though she was asleep and her nose was covered by the book it still twitched lightly as Atreus entered the room, it had detected a new smell apart form the old odor of the book, and lets just say it smelled delicious. It was only after smelling the delicious and welcoming smell of breakfast that the selective hearing of a drowsy person would kick in and alert her brain that Atreus had returned with breakfast.

Yawning lightly Chisaki stretched her arms to remove the stiffness as she greeted her god, "Welcome home master Atreus." With her right hand she picked up the book off of her face and blinked a few times to get use to the light. A smile on her face, her light almost faded brown eyes looked from Atreus to the bag in his hand, back to him, back to the bag, etc. "You should have woke me up if you were going somewhere" she said. Atreus had a habit of disappearing at random times that Chisaki wasn't a fan of, sometimes she would wake up and he would be gone leaving her on her lonesome in the out of the way shrine. She would get slightly lonely when he would disappear even if he wasn't gone for long. Now every time he would disappear she would welcome him back with the same greeting, "Welcome back master Atreus, Did you have a good trip?" or something like that.

Glancing at her book she made a mental note of what page she was on before closing the book and setting it aside. She sat up and scooted her way over to the table because at the moment she didn't want to stand up. "What's for breakfast?" She asked looking back at Atreus.

Coming through the doorway, he'd glance about every which way with his eyes bouncing off the walls. Ahh, should've learned by now; he looked down at the jumble of books and woman. Another night spent reading, he should've known. They'd have to make another trip to the library soon, Chisaki was probably through all the ones she had collected. As the monstrous albino woke from her slumber, removing books off her person, and greeted him did a true smile strike across his face. Something other than conjured contentedness, genuine joy. It was like watching a child sometimes. When she scooted across the floor, making a mad dash, err, crawl for the table a scoff left him. "What's for breakfast?" He'd repeat her question aloud with noticeable emphasis, "Bold of you to assume it's for you. You didn't come so you don't get any."

Sauntering over to the table he popped down on his knee. His morning dreariness had long gone faded by now, he'd been up for quite some time. An unhealthy habit to sleep late and rise early, but one he did effortlessly. "Sukiya." He'd say as he pulled out two styrofoam containers. One reasonably larger than the other. "Got 'em free for helping some old gent. Told me I couldn't leave without his thanks. Guess this was his way of expressing his gratitude." His other knee met the ground before both slid to go criss-cross. He sat tall and upright, pushing up against whatever burden that weighed down on him.

Sliding the larger container over towards Chisaki, he opened the smaller one. He always ate less than her, giving his regailia the larger portion if there ever was one. The plastic lid was peeled from the styrofoam square, steam wafting and waving up towards the roof in a puff. Green onion, egg, cheese, shaved roast beef all sat on top of the fried rice that was there to absorb every bit of grease and oils. Pepper and salt had been sprinkled atop his. "You'll love it."

Plucking up a plastic fork from the grease spot bag he started to work on his meal slowly. Best savor a gift like this while it lasts.

Chisaki couldn't help but pout a little bit at his teasing, mostly because if he had woken her up she would have helped him with what ever job it was no matter how tired she was. Though her expression changed to a wide smile when she saw what her breakfast was. Atreus was right she did love it and she hadn't even taken a bight yet. It looked so pretty and well made, plus the smell was driving her nose crazy. The combination of vegetable, meat, and cheese on top of rice! This was going to be delicious, though she did have a slight problem with it. The size of the meal she got was larger then the one Atreus was eating. She was always grateful to her god for giving her the larger portions but Atreus was right she hadn't done any work for this so getting the majority of the food was not something she could do.

Taking the other fork she divided up her food into a more even portion and scooted closer to Atreus trying to transfer the smaller portion of her food that she had separated from the rest over to Atreus container. "Like you said I didn't come along." Whether or not he accepted her putting some of her food into his container was up to him, but Chisaki intended to be stubborn and fight him on this, an intention that was very evident in her expression.

One way or the other the matter would be settled Chisaki would clap her hands together ,"Thank you for the food" and begin to eat. Just as Chisaki had expected it was delicious, all the flavors mixed together perfectly and it was obvious who ever made this knew what they were doing. Eating at a much quicker pace then the man next to her. "So whats the plan for today? Anymore jobs to do? Is it a off day? Maybe we have errands we need to do, I can't think of any off the top of my head. " Waiting for Atreus's response she would go back to eating her Sukiya

A pleasant breeze swept through the city that day. The birds woke with song; pink sakura petals cascaded down to the busy streets; the people hustled about minding their own business. Some conversed in groups, some were on their first date, some were alone enjoying the perfect cool weather. Shops had cleared their winter decorations, pulling out new clothes and even changing the window stickers. A young blonde rushed to put on her scrappy sneakers, hopping on one foot to get her other foot in.

"Oi brat! Don't forget to come back before dark" A stern, older voice shouted from within a shrine, and only got a string of incoherent words in reply since her mouth held on to a pamphlet. Unable to contain her excitement, she dashed out the small courtyard and into the streets. Yelling over her shoulder that she'll be back, she waved the now srunched up pamphlet with a wide grin on her youthful face.

Of course, what Setsu was excited about wasn't the turn of the season (though she was super thankful it wasn't freezing anymore), but because this was the day cafes launch their spring menu and desserts. She couldn't wait to see what creative inventions would be on display. Though she couldn't afford anything yet, she hoped she could taste the sweet creations one day. You may have thought that a girl obsessed with desserts be a cute dainty flower, but not Setsu. Her wiry hair is tangled in the wind, her clothes 2 sizes bigger to cover her skinny frame. But she didn't care, no one can see her anyway. Not humans at least.

The wandering spirit knew she reached her destination when she saw various employees advertising their goods and coaxing pedestrians into their shops. "Now, where should I look at first?" She asked herself, a surprisingly girlish giggle coming from the hooligan-looking girl. She referred to the pamphlet in her hands, directing herself to the first cafe. It was advertising their special strawberry sakura dessert on the paper. Stuffing the leaflet into her pocket, her hazel eyes darted from shop window to window.

"There it is!" She shouted, both her palms pushed against the glass. The dessert gleamed under the display lights, tempting her effortlessly. But the star dessert wasn't alone. It was as if a whole new world opened in front of her eyes. And boy was that world sweet. Like a child in Disneyland, Setsu's eyes sparkled at the pretty sweets. Pink and white parfaits, mochis, souffles, cakes, puddings and more! She couldn't help but want to take a closer look at it. Her face smooshing on the clear glass and her rear in the air swaying from side to side in glee.

His previous thought-- His question had been answered. The guard to the guardian. Contentedness waved through his sweet and bitter core, his face glancing away to hide whatever happiness that broke through. It was nice having a regailia again, it brought back memories or warmth and frigidness. "You're a sweetheart, Chisaki." He set his gaze back onto the book worm, turning his shoulders to face her. As she tried her best to even the meal, to even possibly give more to him, he watched her with eyes that glowed faintly in the dimly lit shrine.

For once he wouldn't put up a fight and go on a "teasing tangent", no not this time. This time he'd sit back and cave, letting her stubbornness be the winner this time.

"Nah, we don't really have a plan set in stone. Any chore or errand has been dealt with while you were asleep. Swept the shrine and tidied the few rooms." Atreus was already halfway through his food, eating almost as fast as his divine instrument. It was good food, couldn't let it go to waste. Screw taking it slow. This is how you savor a meal. "I'll let you know if there are any more jobs today, but so far I've handled the only one." In other words, it was an off day. "Think I'll set you free today, let you do what you want. Could run into someone and make a friend."

Oh gods above in Takamagahara, he was worse than a parent consoling their child. "Friends." He wasn't wrong though, she could afford to take a day off and find some kinship. Others who she'll relate to. Lucky for her and him, Atreus had few little enemies out there. "If you do fly the coop, be sure to come home before it gets too dark. Don't wanna get caught during a storm."

Chisaki her head in approval at being called a sweetheart and that Atreus didn't resist taking the food. With her attention back on her food she didn't notice her god looking away trying to hide his emotions, instead she ended up finishing her meal as he explained that today was a day off. So are the chores were done and she had nothing to do, this was a rare opportunity. Letting herself fall backwards slowly she laid down facing up on the floor and tilted her head to look at the books on the floor. Make a friend? Something tells me I won't be too good at that. Her thought process wasn't pure speculation either, after all over these past three months that she could remember they had only met a few other gods and regalia, every time they met one Chisaki got nervous and wasn't able to hold a proper conversation. That being said something was bothering her, the urging to leave the house and go make friends brought up a feeling of familiarity, as if she had been through several of these ago... but she had no memories of any such events.

This was a rare free day, so even if she didn't want to go make friends she shouldn't waste the day away. Still on her back looking at the books she sighed, "I want to check on the flowers out back to make sure they are doing well....then I might as well go return the books I am finished with." Those two actives wouldn't take up the whole day but at the very least they would kill sometime. After that she could find a nice spot in the park or somewhere and read, it wasn't like anyone would disturb Herr, after all no one other then a god or other regalia could see her.

Sitting up she began to gather the books she had finished reading, four in total and stacked the ones she was still reading over in the corner. As she was getting everything together she looked back at Atreus, "Call me if something comes up or you need me." She told him.

Humans. They always needed something, a way to gain power, good grades, victory, and vengeance. It was the last that Azani was interested by and in some ways ruled over. She was a goddess, but was not a the type that protected people. There were no shrines in her name nor statues that erected in her honor. Azani knew that darkness dwelt within human hearts, for it was she, who settled their grudges, taking those they wished to hell at the low price of falling into hell themselves. Many people took Azani up on that deal. Humans were willing to sell their own souls to get vengeance. That was the darkness that had birthed Azani. She was made from the hatred of humanity and the cries for vengeance. Azani did not deal in justice. She dealt in things far darker. Guilty or innocent, it mattered little to her. All that mattered was the grudge that existed. Azani had worked for centuries settling the grudges of humans, exposing their darkest perversions and their most pointless grudges of all. Azani even saw this darkness in the gods who were shaped by humans (how could they not). Even the gods were born by humans desires.

Even now Azani was called. Somewhere someone had invoked her name and pleaded out to have their grievance settled; to wish a soul to be dragged to hell. Azani appeared before a man who had tears streaming down his face. Some might question granting someone's wish when they were still so freshly broken and unable to recover. However, the emotional state of humans gave little concern to Azani. Call upon the goddess of vengence and she would come. That was the deal. The person could back out at any time if they could not go through with it, choosing to simply settle things themselves instead.
That rarely happened.

" You have called me and I have came. Who is it you desire vengeance on?" Azani asked, her tone cold and sharp. Her presence was unsettling and mposing, despite the irony of her height. The snakes from her hair slowly moved to face the man in front of them.

" Aoi Fukimori" The man answered after recovering from the shock of the goddess, who actually came to answer his prayer and appear before him "The bitch was cheating on me the entire time we were together. She was seeing so many men even now." He said. While one would want an explanation from the man, Azani cared little for reason, or rather, she did her best to not care. She had a job to do and that's all that mattered.

" When a curse is created two graves are dug" Azani began " I will settle your grievance and drag them to hell, but you must honor me and give offering. Know that if should you fail to do so, I will come for you no matter what. For cursing someone to hell, you too shall follow the same fate" She continued " at least when you die that is. That is the deal. Do you accept?"

The man took only seconds before nodding

" Yes. I agree"

Azani then reached down and touched his shoulder. There was a burning pain as a mystic seal, invisible to all but those who made a deal, was engraved on his skin. Azani held out a small card with an address. " Send your offering here." She said. The address looked to be a PO box number. Suddenly, Azani was gone, leaving the man in solitude as she resumed on her way to work.

"Figured I'd leave the garden for you," He'd softly said as if he were drifting into his mind already, visibly mapping the day in his head. Three months and he was catching on quick to her likes and dislikes, her hobbies and the chores she would like to avoid most. Welp, enough thought time, "Keep your phone on vibrate, I'm heading off into the city. Wanna be able to call you if anything pops up." Ah, Atreus was heading out into the city? "Probably going to advertise the name, ya know?"

Whatever trash today's breakfast left behind was swiftly dealt with, dropped right into the trash. He was already by the front door, ready to leave. It wasn't because he was eager, gods no. Atreus simply had tenacity towards life, having to carry himself with reserves of energy and discipline. "Might find other jobs, might find you a new friend too, who knows."

With this said, he was already pushing the door open when a small mischievous grin cracked across his face. "Oh Takamagahara above, what if it were a boy?" Never could pass up a chance to tease his regailia. It was a nice thought, gathering more and more family. This was one of the only ways Gods could truly feel human through their regailia. He was stepping out, softly snickering to himself thinking that he was so clever.

There's nothing like digging through trash for... something.

As disgusting as it may be, it sated his boredom. Trash had a variety of things inside of them, such as trash, more trash and... "A disgustingly moist newspaper. Ugh." If it wasn't so wet and illegible, he would have read it. What else is he to do after all? Nobody perceives his existence, monstrous entities stare at him as if he was a snack they were dying to eat and currently, he has no home. He'd gotten bored of wandering and now he scavenges trash to occupy himself. Thankfully the alley didn't seem to contain of those monsters. Sure, searching for a home would be great and all, but nowhere seems safe to live in.

The birds were annoyingly chirping, the streets slowly filled with the sound of people and the little twisted monsters that popped here and there since dawn broke had all annoyed him. He needs silence. Too much noise disturbs his thinking and while he doesn't think of anything other than things that could occupy his time, a clear head would always be a good thing to have. He was constantly absorbing information, so he definitely needed it. Though what Mori absorbs have mostly been useless and trivial things that weren't vital to... whatever it is that he's doing. His current objective is to just find a safe place to hide. And frankly, he'd had enough of this dumpster diving so he shall go do his objective.

And so, he ends up in a street lined with busy-looking shops. The employees are coaxing people into buying whatever goods or services they had. So just a completely ordinary day for them. The various different shops offered things like skin care products, food items, etc. The food was what interested him the most since it generally looked quite appealing to his sleep-deprived brain. Mori didn't sleep last night. People of all kinds lined the streets, ranging from a hungover guy who might have done something terrible last night, some haughty-looking tough guy who's most likely looking to chat up a girl or a few dozen, and more people. Most of them are ordinary.

Mori inspects each and every shop, clearly bored out of his mind. Nothing much interests him. Passing a dessert cafe, he takes a glance at the different little desserts and sweets through it's window. And they all look quite appetizing. He comes closer for a closer look. His tucks his hands in his pockets as he stops to stare. It's definitely the type of place children would go in hordes to reach. And there's one right there, practically smooching the glass with how she's admiring all of the cute sweets so greatly.

A tomboy from the looks of it. A clear conclusion from how she's wearing boyish clothing that are probably a few sizes too big. Plus there's the messy hair, a clear giveaway since most of the teenage girls he'd seen wandering the streets have their hair combed. It could just be from a childish personality trait as she does seem like it, but he doubts it. Though from the way she looks at the desserts exactly like a child looking into a toy store, she secretly has a girly side. Or just really, really loves sweets.

"Just go in and buy some already if you want it so much," he says. It's almost annoying how she seems like she doesn't have a care in the world. If only she saw the creepy little monsters he had. But nobody sees them. Just like how nobody ever sees him.

Only the monsters ever do.

Hearing that the garden was left up to her made Chisaki smile a bit, she loved planting and caring for flowers. Even if the collection they had behind the shrine wasn't much it still helped breathe a little more life into the secluded shrine. Atreus order to keep her phone on vibrate reminded her that she had left it in the other room, She would have to grab that. Turning to face Atreus as he set out for the day she waved goodbye but that wave quickly turned to her sticking out her tongue at her god as a response to his teasing. He was so insistent today about her finding a friend, Not having any friends for a while wasn't a bad thing, and plus if you count books as possible friends then she has tons of them for short amounts of time.

Grabbing the watering can she filled it up and went out back to her little garden. Currently it wasn't much to look at just a few standard looking Camellia. Though one day when Atreus was a famous god with tons of worshipers and adoring fans Chisaki would like to have a bigger garden to hopefully attract even more attention for the delivery god. she began to water the few flowers that were there, paying attention to make sure she was giving them enough to grow and stay healthy but not to much as to ruin them. While she was wandering a thought popped into her head, Was Atreus going to look for a new Regalia?

Chisaki knew that one day Atreus was going to collect more regalia to make himself stronger, all the popular and big gods had multiple... she just didn't think he would be getting another one so soon. On one hand if he got another girl regalia she would have someone to talk maybe someone that could be like a sister...but on the other if he got a boy regalia she would have to live with two guys and that would be on top of the fact that the teasing from Atreus would likely be even greater then it is now. Maybe she should go outside and make a friend.

Finishing up with caring for the garden Chisaki would head back inside and return the watering can back to it's original place. Heading over to the side room where she kept her stuff she retrieved her cellphone, turning it on and setting it on vibrate. Placing the device into her pocket she gathered up the books she was returning to the library and set out for the day. From her point of view today was going to be either a very relaxing day or a very nerve racking day, and there was little chance of it being anywhere in between. Books held firmly in her arms she set out down the path and into the city.

................

The Shrine that Chisaki called home was a few minutes on the outskirts of the city so not very close to the library unfortunately. Walking down the twisting streets and weaving through people she found herself humming lightly, it wasn't very often that she found herself wandering alone. In fact it was a rare occasion that she was in the city by herself. Even when Atreus disappeared for a little bit she would stay at the shrine and take care of the chores and garden to make sure that he had a presentable home to comeback to. But not today, today was Chisaki's day to do her own thing.

Smiling a little more she continued to weave past people on her way to the library. She had to quickly side step to her right to avoid having an older man on his cellphone running into her. That was one of the downsides of being a regalia, no one could see you unless you actively tried to draw there attention to you. Of course that wasn't the case for all humans, little children could still see her so she would have her fun making funny faces to try and get the kids to smile or giggle. There was an old saying she read about that went something along the lines of a child's smile is one of the most precious things on earth, so whenever she could she tried to get children to laugh and smile even if it was just a little. Resuming her walk she glanced at the time and decided to pick up the pace a bit, if she was lucky she could find some new books to read as well as turn in her current ones.

The God had gone through his trail and winded up in the city he visited often. With spring came out many, many inhabitants of this said city and perhaps some from above as well. It was a lovely time, the blossoming trees and the birds' sweet tweets making sure it was so. Even though everyone else experienced a great rush of energy, this new wind that picked their frosted souls up, Azrael did not. He felt nowhere closer to his aspiration, to his passion. How depressing, to be stuck thinking by his lonesome. This was the only thing he could muse and dwell on for the past hour or so as he cut through alleys, rode trains, and stopped by message boards. With either a blue sharpie or an orange spray-can did he advertise his false name "Atreus." But back in the alleyways, deep in the city's core of weaving halls would the Depraved Deity spell out his true name and number. It didn't stop there either, he sought out to gather more and more followers. On the docks where rusted cargo crates haven't moved for decades did he spritz out that burnt golden orange hue to get his name out there. Spanning across the bridge's wall and skate park's ramp was his name signed.

It felt tiresome doing this over and over. Too many days, months, and years had gone by, this same task dealt with too long to count how many times it's been repeated. Attempts felt fruitless as if they held no weight to them at all. Perhaps it was time to make his name pop out, unlike others'. At the end of his true name did he place a hand against whatever surface he wrote on. A destructive force surged through his chaotic being, flowing out of his palms and the surface of his fingers. In alleyways, walls were left with a dark hand that broke through the surface layer of cement. Down by the docks in the cargo containers, a rusted hand shaped mark ate through the thick steel. The bridge was left with a digging grasp, fingers clawing into the material with such strength and tenacity. Wooden poles and lampposts that held up electrical lines or illuminated the city once night fell had been smacked and smacked hard as black handprints were left just about eye level for all to see.

They say pride is a sin, but luckily whatever Gods do and feel is right, right? Azrael was pretty proud of his new statement, it felt like a nice new addition to make his graffiti stand out from the common street artist. Oh well, it was time to put this to an end. The sharpie's head had dried out and the spray-can was empty. Besides his hands were aching and he felt just a tad bit feverish. He hadn't used that power for a good while now, it had been forever and half. And now he really felt it, he felt his blood coursing through his chest and light-headed mind and some of the lingering desolate force. "Phew. ." A sharp sigh whistled through his lips as his backhand swept under and across his bangs to rid the dampness he felt. His whole person felt consumed, his energy corroded away like those ways. Dead legs lumbered him over to a park's bench, his weight giving in to gravity and plopping down atop the seat. Now he could enjoy spring like everyone else, he last chore crossed off the list with many spare hours to enjoy in relaxation.

The fantastic world of sparkly sweets was suddenly ruined by a voice that sounded awfully irate. Setsu clicked her tongue loudly. Rising to her full height, her eyes narrowed at the rude guy. Her head cocked back slightly, giving him a nasty glare as she crossed her arms. "Huuuuh?" She puffed her chest as she sized him up, looking him up and down. She was minding her own business and this guy had to make some snide remark? Of course she wanted to have some! But she didn't need a damn stranger to tell her the obvious.

"What's your problem, man? I would totally eat it if I could baka! And how come you can see--" The blonde immediately stopped herself, realising that the man could actually see her. "Ah- aahhhhh! You can see me!" She exclaimed, her petty anger already out the window. Her hands cupped the stranger's face and smooshed his cheeks together. He was a little taller than Setsu and looked a lot older than the teenager, but she didn't hold back her excitement.

"I can touch you too!" She laughed triumphantly. "This is awesome! Finally a human. Wait you are a human, right Onii-san?" The handsy teen smacked his shoulder as if she's known him for more than 10 years. "It doesn't matter! There's someone other than the old man that can see me!" She was running circles around him now, stopping in front of him again with a shit eating grin.

"You can call me Setsu! What's your name?" Her eyes held the same excitement when she saw the sweets. Introducing her innocent, child-like, yet slightly violent nature.

After a quick five minute snooze, he felt good enough to walk around again. Okay, actually, let's make that a lazy twenty-minute snooze. Time went on and another hour was spent dozing off in the park. Two hours away from home. Oh well, at least he was getting out and about. By now he felt far better, his energy restored and his body no longer so sensitive. Flexing his sore and aching hand, he came to a stand once more and swayed gently with the spring breeze. Whipping out his phone, Azrael glanced over his cheap plastic flip phone that had a cute little chain accessory attached to it. He looked over the screen that blared an unhealthy blue. Every pixel popped out and hurt his eyes. No missed calls, no missed messages. It almost hurt his soul, but he couldn't expend any non-existing care he had. "This is a park after all... Always shrines 'round here."

Some Gods and Goddesses weren't suited for battle, not like this "Scary War God." Wishes had been passed down to him before to deal with, this shouldn't be any different. As long as he got paid his hundred yen and kept existing, he didn't mind anything. He wandered around the park, on a search for one of the shrines destined to be here. His feet lead him astray from the path, traveling across the fresh green grass to stroll up into a shrine's courtyard. The deity pocketed his hands after messing with his bangs, staring down any inhabitants tidying up the place. "Ay, this is a nice place you got," He'd comment in a suave, neutral tone. Towards each sentence, subtly his voice would dip down instead of going up. "Looks like it gets many visitors." The supposed Delivery God kept his shoulders broad and up high, never allowing a slump or slouch to form. It gave off a form of professionalism and he should know, he's been practicing it for years.

Mori folds his arms and sighs. What am I doing? He has no time to be making snide remarks about other people. What matters is that he find somewhere safe but now he has gotten himself in an argument with a chil- wait.

She just spoke to him. That means she sees him.

Holy shit.

Mori tilts his head to the side and his eyes widen. Though not before he feels a child whose head only barely reaches his shoulders roughly cupping and playing around with his face, to which he responds with a hand swatting hers away. She's definitely childish. And a bit rough at that. "Stop that." The man quickly dismisses his annoyance for now to assess his current situation. The most important thing here is that he has found someone that can actually see him. This better not be a hallucination. He may have not slept for the past two days but a lack of sleep shouldn't make him experience such a vivid glamour. That would mean this is absolutely real.

"You see me," he says, ignoring her question for now. "You can actually see me." A wave of relief washes over him. He pokes her shoulder just in case. "Huh." So there are people that can see me. Mori adjusts his glasses before returning his arms to the folded position. "I apologize for spacing out a bit there, I'm just a bit shocked that someone can actually see me. And to answer your two questions, yes, I am human. And regarding my name, I don't have one." A true fact as he awoke lying on the pavement with nothing in his head except for his brain, of course.

It would be in his best interest to find himself a name now though so he doesn't just end up being called onii-san as he is not anyone's big brother. Quickly, he searches through his mind for any sort of name that might suit him. He looks through the various newspapers, signs-Toyota? and whatever things that he can find that resemble usable names. Honda? No. Subaru? No. Ken, Kaminari, Kageyama, Jones, Yuki, Urie, blah, blah, blah... Mori. It's simple, elegant and mentioned in a section of a newspaper from two weeks ago about shrines that he stole from a trash can. It fits perfectly.

"Not having a name is strange though. So you may call me Mori. It's a pleasure to meet you, Setsu."

Looking down so that he could actually face her, he sticks out his hand for a handshake.

Names held power. That was a simple truth of the world. Armed with a name a hunt for someone was simple for some could say the name and soul were tied. Thus was it that Azani could hunt her targets finding them because of their names. This target the woman Aoi Fukimori Was already found and with a man. Truly she did not care for those who gave her their hearts, she only cared for their wallets. This woman reeked of corruption far more than a mere thief of hearts. This woman was a black widow waiting for the right fly. But this woman would never get her fly for she was now to be damned.

Azani unseen to the couple moved in and her snakes lashed out. In the living world Aoi spasmed then collapsed in a moment she was dead. Her spirit dragged from her body her sin evident Azani need to pry into visions. Aoi stood confused and scared.

"Oh pitiful shadow lost in the darkness, Bringing torment and pain to others. Oh, damned soul. Wallowing in your sin, perhaps this world is better off without you?" Azani spoke and a circle appeared below Aoi skeletal hands reaching up to drag her down. None of the living would hear her screams of horror, but the wandering spirits not too far away might.

The Adventures of Chisaki, Part 1

After a little more walking the Regalia would finally reach her destination, the public Library. The bounced lightly on her feet in excitement as she pondered what kind of books she would get today. Quickly moving forward the small smile she had earlier grew into a full sized one as the automatic doors opened, "Way to go technology! Even if people can't see me you are as dependable as ever!" she said cheerfully as she walked through the open doors. The first time she came here after being named by Atreus she had feared she wouldn't have been able to get in by herself, but it turned out the doors could detect her and open for her. Since then she has come and gone as she pleased, though Atreus was always with her when she came to get new books. She heard the doors slide shut behind her and she stood alone in the empty hallway. Was this what she felt when she was alive and had set foot in the library on her own for the first time? Would it always be this exciting? Those for questions for later, she had a quest laid out in front of her.

Heading to the book return she gently set the four in arms into the return, it always upset her when she saw people just drop them in without a care, What if those books were damaged! Sighing at the thought she waved at the man behind the glass who picked up the books. He looked up and squinted trying to see who had placed the books down so gently but saw know one. Shrugging the man went back to work gathering up the books and getting ready to put them back on the shelves with the others. After a minute of watching the man Chiskai turned back towards the actual Library and set foot into the main building. Looking around she eyed the different shelves debating where she should start. Picking a shelf at random she would begin her hunt.

Quickly an expertly she scanned the shelves like a detective scanned a crime scene. The name of every book she walked past flashed in her mind and her brain did it's best to sort out the titles that didn't fit her current desires for what she wanted to read. After two shelves she stopped mid walk with her eyes locked on to a certain book. By the judge of it the book was a steamy romance novel, not her normal read but it caught her interest. Gently grabbing it she looked it over, opened a few pages to get a feel of it. Well it was definitely steamy as evident by the slight shade of red that was appearing on her face. Closing it and holding against her chest and making sure the title was covered so people would just believe it was a normal book she would resume her search. This would most likely be one of the few books that she would keep to herself.

The rest of her hunt would come to an end about an hour later, with every shelf being checked for something that caught her attention. End result you ask? Five books in all, one of course being the steamy romance, the second one being a home improvement book, the third one being a book on gardening advice, the fourth being the story of a ghost who possessed a tree but ended up being stuck in the tree, and the final one was an old book telling stories about the gods. Taking the five books she went to the self check out station and rang up the books one at a time. Swiping her library card the books were put in her name as rentals as well as the two she had back at home.

Gathering up her books and card she left past the Librarians desk and nodded in thanks towards the sweet old lady behind the desk. She knew it wasn't going to be acknowledged but she still want to give her thanks. Stepping outside she looked up at the sky then over at the large clock on the wall. She still had plenty of time, the question was what to do with it now?

wwwTurning towards the mysterious voice, a tall figure emerged from the doors of the Shrine. Lay before the god of calamity was Tenjin, the god of learning. He appeared to be a middle-aged man around his late 50's to 70's, with grey hair and wore what looked like a black priest's outfit. "Ah, what brings you here traveler?" The god greeted warmly before stopping himself in what looked to be astonishment. He came closer to the calamity god and brought a hand to his chin with his sleeve covering the lower half of his face as if it were masking his expression. Nodding to himself in assurance, he then spoke "Well... If it isn't Azrael-no-Kami." He gave a slight smile to the calamity god.

"You bet I can see you. And I don't even wear glasses." Setsu reassured the man, holding her head up high as she boasted about her 20/20 vision. The blonde cocked her head to the side, raising a brow when she heard he didn't have a name. She pointed her finger in the air as she thought of a good idea. "I can name ya!" She brought her hand back down and rubbed her chin. Her lips pouted to the side and started humming in deep thought. She looked him up and down again, an old guy in all black with glasses. Would 'Black' be too simple? But it seemed he had already settled on a name before she could voice her thoughts.

"Oh! That's a pretty neat name. Nice to meet you too, Mori! Let's be friends!" She looked down at his outstretched hand before slapping her own on his and shaking it unnecessarily hard. Her amber eyes looked back up towards his and a cheeky smirk tugged on her lips.

"Since we're friends, I'll let your little comment earlier slide. And we can celebrate our friendship with sweets. I know the perfect place for it!" Her childish grin turned sinister and she held his hand a little tighter, refusing to let go until he agrees to treat her to a slice of cake. Alas, Setsu's chance of getting her wish come true and a sad attempt at scamming Mori was disturbed by a loud scream that seem to echo through the entire street. The teen felt her heart drop, her eyes searching the crowd for the source of terror. But the people were walking by without a care in the world. They didn't hear it.

Setsu took an involuntary step back, her brows creased in worry and she gulped down nervously. Was that a monster? Did it-- "M-Mori... You heard that, right? It was nearby. W-we gotta--" She didn't manage to finish her sentence as she wasn't prepared for she was about to see. A break in the constant stream of people, ignorant to the horror that was just a few meters from the two spirits. Large skeletal hands wrapped around a woman, slowly dragging her down into the ground. And she could have sworn she was hallucinating, but a small girl with snakes for hair stood in front watching. If that wasn't a monster she doesn't know what is!

Setsu didn't want to stay there any longer, she couldn't. She grabbed Mori's hand and started running the opposite direction, "Follow me! I know a safe place!"

The smile was returned with a closed lip grin. It broke his neutral tone and look, his visage mended by the gentlemanly greeting into one of warmth and friendliness. Tenjin was a kind old geezer of a god whose presence wasn't as bothersome like most. "Well if it isn't the God of Learning," He'd mock the other deity in a friendly manner. After all, mockery is the new flattery. "Nice seeing you too." He'd imply this as if Tenjin was pleased with his presence. A small charm he had picked up in his long lifetime, just a few lessons in charisma by none other than the great teacher; Experience. "Haven't dropped by in some time, terribly sorry about that." He'd give the older gent a small nod of his head-- A little bow of some sorts. "I wager you know why I'm here, yeah? I'm scouting for any unsavory wishes. Well, unsavory for you. A young up and comer like me needs all he can get, ya' know?" Underneath that friendly veil was desperation and other gloomy feelings. This charm was just his effort to get on others' good side. "Effort" is the key word here, he was trying his best to claw his way to another wish. Vanishing from disregard would be a terrible way to go.

Friends, already? Isn't that too quick? They were more akin to acquaintances right now, though maybe friends wouldn't be too much of a wrong term considering both of their circumstances. His circumstances at least. He doesn't know if she came into this world like him, with a lack of a past and a sudden invisibility to all other humans. He'll assume they both have the same situation on their hands. Thrust into a world where they are invisible in the eyes of everyone except for creatures unknown. Two wandering souls lost on a different shore of existence. How romantic. There was the mention of an old man earlier however, so they are not totally alone. And the monsters are here too.

Mori winced a bit at the rather rough way she shook his hand. So violent. His silver eyes glanced into her amber ones. They're pretty, like pools of honey, he thinks. From the mention of a perfect sweet place they could go to and the sinister smile creeping itself onto her lips, he gets the feeling she's going to have him be the one treating them to some cake. "I'm broke," he responds in immediate succession. The only food he has eaten were taken from dumpsters.

His thought process was soon interrupted by a sudden blood-curdling scream.

His eyes narrow, head turning to the direction of the scream. The first thing he notices is that the bystanders aren't paying it any mind. He quickly finds the source of the danger, merely a few meters away from him and Setsu. Skeletal hands emerged from the ground, grabbing a woman and dragging her down with them to whatever hell they came from while she screamed and screamed. Mori's keen eyes spot a little gir-no, most likely the culprit. Her appearance, as tiny and child-like it looked like, was unnatural.

The little girl had black locks of hair that were connecting to numerous creepy snakes jutting out of them, the slanted eyes of a serpent with red irises and was dressed in traditional clothing. If that didn't scream "Culprit!" enough, there was the simple fact that she was looking right at the woman while she was being dragged down by the skeleton hands and doing nothing about it.

Absolutely terrifying and exciting.

Mori stayed silent as he simply followed Setsu, glancing back multiple times to look at the scene they were leaving.

Azani saw the two spirits running as if she were a monster, how willy of them to do so when she was one of the only things that could protect them. Still she could see how a fool with no understanding might see what she was doing as something evil, but she was a gun in the hands of mortals they chose the target and pulled the trigger she simply did what they wanted. Still seeing the spirits flee Azani did remember she was without a Shinki and while her snakes were well behaved others were not and she could use another. Yona could use another as well after her last death she was defenseless and that bothered Azani. It was annoying to see Yona die over and over being reborn with no memory a blank slate like the spirits that fled her. Azani would have to find a suitable spirit to work with her Yona. The Shinki Azani herself took mattered little none could stand what she did and always left or fell to corruption. Perhaps Yona was thinking of her for this truly was a circumstance one could call fate Azani needed two Shinki and here were two wandering souls ripe for the picking. The only problem was they were running away. well Azani didn't have any more jobs. or well any she couldn't put off to chase down two ignorant souls that ran from their own salvation and put off their own damnation into monsters.

" You two stop !" Azani shouted at them giving chase to the fleeing souls she had decided would be hers and yona's maybe.

www"You're back to running around again?" Tenjin gave a slight chuckle as he gave the calamity god a friendly jab. "Unsavory jobs ...eh?" The god paused, turning his back to Azrael. Stroking his elderly beard in thought, the god's face then turned to face Azrael. "Say, I'm quite positive that you've completed every single task I have available. There has been an unusual amount of phantoms appearing in the area. However, most of the gods are already tasked with eliminating such threats. I'm not sure if I can give you an errand at this time" said Tenjin with a sort of guilty haste.

wwwHis wise eyes roved over Azrael's face. ‘I know you,’ the eyes seemed to say, ‘I see through you. I sympathize with you.’ Tenjin was abnormally friendly with the God of Calamity. He viewed their relationship similar to that of a grandfather and grandson— like a teacher to pupil— or as he thought of it. In spite of his old age, Tenjin had no interest in embarking on treacherous journeys or chasing after rampant spirits of the far shore. It was only right that Tenjin allowed someone else to access a person's prayers. However, he could have sworn that there was something that he wanted to inform Azrael of. What was it exactly? Tenjin thought.

www An unfamiliar bulging object in his chest pocket then caused him to remember. Shuffling into his priest robes, Tenjin pulled out a small scroll sealed with a richly-colored red ribbon.

www "But, perhaps this may assist you." The God of Learning spoke, swiftly handing the scroll to Azrael. "Lately, there has been talk amongst the gods of Takamagahara—a task given to all — a bounty to be exact." He paused. "Have you ever heard of Yona-no-Mikoto?
