Black Widow (Sniper)
Heavy for a sniper rifle, the Black Widow's firepower more than compensates for its encumbrance.

Paladin (Pistol)
The Paladin is a reliable, durable weapon developed by law enforcement looking for a high-powered but easily concealed sidearm for undercover agents. Surprisingly small for its hitting power, the Paladin is a variant on the Carnifex pistol. While it has a smaller clip than the Carnifex, its shots are unquestionably more powerful.

Scimitar (Shotgun)
An elite military shotgun capable of rapid fire, this weapon is deadly at short range, but ineffective at long range. Effective against shields and biotic barriers, but weak against armor.

Omnitool
Omnitools are multipurpose diagnostic and manufacturing tools as well as computers used for a variety of civilian and battlefield tasks, such as hacking, decryption, or repair. In addition, the omnitool of Nihlus is equipped with an Omni-Blade for close-combat.

◖Nihlus' story◗

As a Turian, you are automatically destined to live a military life. Like many other Turians, Nihlus is made for such a life. But what made him stand out among all others was his calmness, which he maintained even during the worst missions. Also his ability to recognize the weakness of the enemy and to take full advantage of it , combined with his steel nerves made him a formidable soldier. Nihlus Kryik was once one of the highest ranked and most efficient specters serving the galactic council, despite a difficult childhood and many tough decisions. But this ultimately made him who he is now: a battle-tested and strong-willed tactician who does his job successfully, no matter what.

Though a lot has changed since his staged death on Eden Prime.
The betrayal by his former friend and mentor, Saren Arterius, taught Nihlus one fact: someone who trusts blindly will eventually end up with a dagger in the back.

Born in a small mercenary outpost outside Hierarchy space, he learned the hard way to fight for what he wanted. His father died when he was 16, and his mother forced him to join the turian military. His outsider status made life difficult; though he was always at the top of his class, his superiors and peers never truly accepted him.

As a soldier, Nihlus' skills were unquestionable. His attitude, however, often got him in trouble. On several occasions, he disobeyed direct orders to do what he thought was best. Although his instincts were usually proven right, his notoriety grew. Even when he single-handedly routed an enemy patrol, and saved his squad from ambush, his commanding officers berated him for his recklessness. His military career seemed to stall before it even began.

After being reassigned to a new squad for the third time, Nihlus was introduced to Saren Arterius, a fellow turian and a Spectre. Saren was impressed with the young soldier. He befriended Nihlus and offered to mentor him. Within a year of meeting Saren, Nihlus was asked to join the Spectres.

Free from the restrictions of military procedure, Nihlus excelled in his new role. He quickly stepped from his mentor's shadow and established himself as one of the Council's top agents. Since then, Nihlus has completed countless missions as a Spectre, each one more difficult and dangerous than the last. Cool under pressure, Nihlus has an uncanny ability to find an enemy's weakness and exploit it. Though his methods aren't as brutal as Saren's, he will not hesitate to efficiently and thoroughly eradicate anything or anyone that stands in his way. He also does not share Saren's grudge against humanity, instead seeing their potential.

While supposedly conducting Council business, Nihlus was once drawn into a fight with an asari justicar named Samara after she witnessed him kill an unarmed civilian. Compelled into battle by her justicar code, Samara attempted to kill Nihlus for the perceived crime. For two weeks the pair played a deadly game of cat and mouse in the wilderness. Eventually, Nihlus was able to use Samara's code against her, creating a situation in which she had to choose between saving the life of an innocent or capturing him. Being a defender of innocents, Samara naturally chose the former, allowing Nihlus to finally escape. Despite her failure, the encounter left her with an admiration for his adaptability and tactics.

◖Betrayal on Eden Prime and the life as a ghost◗

As a representative of the Council, Nihlus goes along on the Normandy's ill-fated shakedown mission. He is treated with suspicion by the Normandy's crew, who doesn't think the Council sent a Spectre just to check out the stealth systems. They are right: Nihlus is not only there to recover the Prothean Beacon on Eden Prime, but to assess Commander Shepard's candidacy for the Spectres.

Nihlus goes ahead of Shepard's team on Eden Prime, intending to scout ahead, and runs into Saren. Surprised to see his old mentor but grateful for the help against the geth, Nihlus drops his guard and Saren shoots him in the back. His body is later found by Shepard and his team and was declared dead from this day on. Nobody knew that this was not the case.

Even if he hadn't counted on Saran's treachery, he still had his shields and a prototype of an invisible tech armor up, in case he would encounter geth while scouting. That turned out to be life-saving when Saren shot him at the first opportunity he got.

Now Nihlus only had to pretend to be dead for a long time in order to disappear from the scene. However, he noticed that he and Saren were being watched and therefore had to remain motionless. When Shepard and his team appeared at the scene shortly afterwards and asked the only witness what had happened, Nihlus used this distraction to make himself look dead on any scan. Thanks to his omnitool, he was able to do this quickly and easily, because it was a function that he had had since entering into his Specter status. When Shepard then went on and followed the mission goal, Nihlus rose from the floor after a short pause, killed the witness and cut off all radio contact with everyone.

After Nihlus had successfully left Eden Prime without being discovered, he thought about getting back in touch with the others. But the advantage of being considered dead was just too valuable to just cast aside.
So he decided to pursue Saren using false identities and aliases, in order to stop him personally and take revenge. However, the fact that he was considered dead also slowed down his progress of finding out, where Saren was headed next. He was not allowed to blow up his cover and could not easily use sources of information, without being recognized immediatly.

That's why Shepard was way more efficient in tracking down Saren. Soon Nihlus had completely lost track of Saren and was forced to give up his search. His fate led him to Omega, where he pursued many dodgy jobs in several gangs aswell as on his own. Some time passed there, after he realized that what he was doing was leaving him unfulfilled. He was just wasting his time and abandoning his prior life. Soon he heard the news about Saren trying to attack the citadel and Shepard ultimately stopping him. This encouraged Nihlus and after giving it some thought, he decided to return back to the world of the living and to his former life, if this was even still possible.

He took the first ship heading towards the citadel to see how his sudden return would be recieved.

Any opinions and/or questions are very welcome!
And yes, this is a character mainly created for Mass Effect Roleplays, but I'm sure I can squish him into any sci-fi RP.
