As Orlen, he wears an old but clean t-shirt and jeans, but owns dress clothes for official meetings. He can instantly change his clothes, but tends not to unless he is acting as Phantasos. As Phantasos, he frequently changes his clothes any time people look away or are distracted, to create a surreal feeling. Most of the time, the changes are minor, a red shirt instead of a blue one, khakis instead of jeans, a jacket that appears or vanishes.


Orlen was perfectly normal, perhaps bizarrely so. He got along with most people, but had few friends. He worked as a freelance programmer, where he was just good enough to make ends meet, but hardly spectacular. Despite his dreams of greatness from his youth, Orlen went through life being solidly mediocre. That all changed when he took a job from a stranger online. It was pretty simple and paid well, so he didn't think much of it.


However, as he worked, his dreams grew stranger and stranger. He began having visions of the workings of reality itself, the underlying code of the universe. His work improved exponentially, rivaling the greatest in the world within a month, and exceeding them shortly after. After he finished his contract, he had one final dream. This time, he didn't just see the code of the world, he understood it on a fundamental level. When he awoke, he found that he could control reality around him by using this knowledge. He would never again be a normal person.


Orlen is unmarried, but both of his parents are alive. He has an affectionate though distant relationship with them, and with his younger sister. He has had a few girlfriends, but nothing lasting more than a few months.
