The Compendium had the option of viewing the newest posts from all of the discussion forums on a single page.  I enjoyed this feature, can we revive it?

Yes. It's possible. One of our friendly php programmers will have to help out with that though.

Much to my embarassment, a similar feature actually all ready exists on the forum, which I just noticed.  I have a "View all posts since last visit" link which essentially does just what I wanted.

Whew I was feelign the urge to email PHPBB programmers and go WTF are you thinking not having this feature.
