Due to certain events, Equestria no longer has the protection of the Elements of Harmony. This wasn't really a problem at first. Most of the land's enemies were defeated or driven back. Of course, driven back isn't the same as defeated. That was where the problem started.
The Changelings were driven back and forced into exile by the Elements of Harmony, but once they were gone, the Changelings came creeping back.
Wait! It gets worse! Nopony in Equestria actually knows they're back. Many ponies have started acting strangely, but nopony really thought it could be the Changelings. Nopony except Twilight Sparkle.
Before Twilight could tell anyone her theory, she was kidnapped and replaced with a Changling. Of course, Changeling Twilight acts oddly, but everyone just thinks it's due to stress of her new position.
And so, the Changelings keep coming.
Who can you trust? Is your friend really your friend? Will the ponies realize the Changelings are back before it's too late? Without the Elements of Harmony, can the Changelings even be defeated this time?
