Lore thread for MPB.
How are worlds created?
Like galaxies form in outer space, worlds slowly push themselves together when stray magic collapses and collect debris from the creation of preexisting worlds. The space between universes is simply known as the Backyard, and its inhabitants must alert the preexisting universes when a new one is formed. One of the MPB's other tasks is to travel to these worlds and connect them to the network.
Beings outside the multiverse
Not everything has a set home in the multiverse. Sometimes, when new worlds shape themselves insidethe Backyard, new creatures form out of the leftovers. Some are benevolent and even help put new worlds together, others are more malicious, and the latter type likes to group up and cause problems in the multiverse. Sometimes they're even able to persuade more villainous beings already in a universe to help.

Good teams and...not-so-good teams
Although the RP primarily focuses on one team, there are plenty more existing both within and outside the organization. When these teams come together during a crisis, it can quickly turn into competition, friendly or not.
On the flipside, some teams don't mind chaos in the multiverse-in fact, they might be causing it! Like the malicious outside beings, these groups will travel around the multiverse for the sole purpose of wreaking havoc. Teams of the MPB are meant to have any members of the bad teams locked up in headquarters, then shipped off to their own universes to have authorities deal with them there.
Team recruitment
The MPB is always accepting new members, but it's not as easy as signing up for a team and receiving the equipment. First, the desired team must be chosen and summoned, then the newbie is escorted to an obstacle course where their stamina, speed, agility, physical prowess, and wit is tested. The members of the desired team may either help or harm, providing aid or being an obstacle. If they fail, the would-be must wait a minimum of six hours to try again. If they pass, they are officially recognized as a rookie member of the team, but as they are shown the ropes they are usually limited to Nuisance or Threat missions.
Team equipment
Typically, the MPB's teams are told to bring whatever they can carry, but they do get supplies on top of that.have
-A swiss army knife, in case the member's weapon is lost, or something needs to be cut.
-A flashlight, in case the universe or an area within it is dark.
-Walkie talkies, if the members need to communicate with each other from far away or in a loud environment.
-A magnifying glass, which comes in handy when searching for something small.
-The most important item is the Portal-ble, a small handheld device which has four main buttons: one that creates a portal to the headquarters, one that creates a portal to the user's home universe (It's required to tell it your home universe when you first receive it), the previous universe the user traveled to (useful if the user forgot something), and the nearest universe. It doesn't have as much power as the headquarter's computer, and cannot take the user as far.
Lapatido
One of the oldest Backyard beings, and one of the cruelest. Lapatido loves attention, especially from "smaller beings". His goal is to become a deity among them, whatever it takes...

The Last Resort
The Last Resort are often referred to as the "The Nuclear Battering Ram" or "The Nuclear Option" of the MPB, as they are often tasked with spearheading assaults on Lapatido's forces and taking on some of the most daring of missions.
The missions undertake range from everything to offense to defensive missions to infiltrating and destroy operations. Anything that the MPB feels could be tough nail, they are often assigned to the last resort to take care of. The missions are often open to most operatives of the MPB, as the more help the better, and are often overseen by a Leadership member of the LR. Members of the MPB also have the option of calling in an LR team for back up, if they're ever in a tight bind.
History: What started out as a two-man mercenary duo fighting for everything fun and exploding within a galactic civil war would turn into somthing much, much...expansive. When the duo Davis and Droz were first recruited into the multiverse organization, they found themselves ferrying MPB members deep into enemy territory or through hazardous environments. Along the way, the two were able to meet some of the multiverse's finest heroes, working closely to help combat the an evil that was a threat to them all. It seemed that the two were quick to form many connections, often calling in favors to assist with other missions to a point where they were calling the shots of some of the MPB missions. The web of associates that Davis and Droz made had soon became vast enough that they were allowed to form their own team/ Of course, the two weren't able to go at it along, they definitely needed some help, expanding the leadership of the team beyond just the two of them. It was this web of talented associates that leads us to the "Last Resort" we know today.
LR Team HQ:
The Overwatch Base on Gibraltar has been converted for the needs of the MPB, thus the facilities has been greatly expanded since it's original conception. The facility is where members of the "Last Resort" not only plan and stage their missions against the evil forces of Lapatido, but the base also provides an environment for the members of the "Last Resort" to rest, train, or prepare for their next battle. The base itself is rather technologically based, although it has been equipped a number of more magically based facilities.
The LR HQ is by no means exclusive to "Last Resort" members (although most of the members do call it home), non-LR members of the MPB are more then welcomed to drop by and utilize any of the facilities they wish to, especially if it prepares them for their next mission. It is also here that other members of the MPB could join up with LR missions, as most if not all of the LR missions are open to any operative within the larger organization.

The Enemy- Void Clones
They may look like you, they might sound like you, they may even act like they're you.
But they're not you.
Don't even bother feeling bad for them, because there only directive is to destroy and control existence as we know it, bending to the will of their few true masters.
So what are they?
In essences, your basically fighting cosmic universe dust that had been forced together with a bunch of bad temper(thanks Lapaitdo). Yes, they don't bleed, and if you hit them hard enough they'll dissolve back into nothingness.
Unfortunately, there's quite alot of them, and some of them might even hit harder then you.
Luckily, your made of much tougher then most of 'em, but don't get too cocky; you're here to protect the worlds of the multiverse, because if you can't do that, then we have no chance at beating them.

The Multiversal Trade Union.

The Multiversal Trade union, or the MTU is a mutiversal wide conglomerate made out of some of the biggest corporations in the Multiverse. The corporations that make up the Union are the Dawson Group (OCs) Venture Company (WOW), Buy'N Large(Pixar) The Techno Union(Star Wars), Roxxon Oil(Marvel), and the The Umbrella Corporation(Resident Evil). They were founded on a unknown date and are headquartered in a dimension juncture they call Home Office. The current leader of the Union is the mysterious Chairman, a shadowy executive from The Dawson Group. The MTU are notorious in the Multiverse for their ruthless methods of turning a profit, often exploiting worlds and their resources, especially worlds where the natives can't possibly hope to fight back against their advanced technology. Their projects are often kept in the dark even from ground level employees, often to keep leaks from reaching the public, or worse, the MPB. The company is currently a variety of projects and is showing no signs of slowing down, even though there is bubbling of discontent starting to bubble among the Board of Directors over the failure to defend a recently dismantled mining project.
