Nation History/Description (Three sentences at least):

Montecardo was founded as a small kingdom (centered in its capital, Risii) in medieval times, but it saw great territorial expansions during the years of enlightened despotism thanks to the nobility's interests in scholastic investment and some degree of militar success. As a country, it had slowly advanced towards constitutionalism and republicanism with the rise of liberal systems, but the monarchy decided to embrace this by transitioning into a system that allowed the citizens to hold power as the nobles remained a selective, politically relevant group whithin society. In recent years, Montecardo's economy has been strengthened by the industrial booms and further investments are being done in making a stronger powerhouse of the existing status quo. The population, excepting a relatively large minority, isn't concerned with international politics as much as local ones. As a consequence, most of the military focuses on the defense of the country in profit of the natural borders surrounding the Montecardian gulfs.

Leader Name/Title: Carlo III.

Leader Physical Description/Picture:

220px-Portrait_of_Venustiano_Carranza.jpg

Leader Party/Faction:

Monarchist Assembly; current King.

Leader Personality Description:

Carlo is a very longwinded and observant man. His political profile can be described as that of a short-term planning, opportunistic monarch who finds a liking in international trade. His main focus goes into education and industry; for he truly believes that a good academical lead might be the best way to bring greater influence and power to Montecardo. He believes war isn't a wise investment, but he would unadmittedly enter one if convincing reasons were presented. As for the problems in the country, Carlo tries to keep both the left and the right in constructive, lowkey positions in the Parliment to avoid partisan fighting. The decade-long stability his reign has brought to the kingdom is an important element of his mandate.
