Legolas i understand your reluctance to leave the lands unprotected so I am hoping you will allow the Beornlings to stay here at the castle with your prople and together you should half strength to hold out against the Orcs and spiders till we return and i hope you will allow Alyanna to join Bolin Eldrais Altaynna Gwendolyn Elatan Torli (and any others who join) on their quest to cleanse the returned dark lord from middle earth

I emerge from under the table and smooth myself down quickly. I was half embarresed that I'd hidden, but, in fairness to me it was quite a shock and I didn't want to die before the quest had really started so hiding seemed the best option.
I took a look around and felt I had to say something

"I am never coming near one an eagle again" Alynna mumbles and she sighs "That seriously scared me", well it had been her fault that that it picked her up, but still, that scared her more then a pack orcs on wargs. Legolas looks at Gandalf "They can stay here as long as they help us drive out the orcs and spiders, though they already got a big set back when the bridge to Dol Guldor was destroyed" he says and looks at Alynna "I guess she can join, but I also suppose she can handle herself, so it's her choice" he says and adds "But let her calm down first, she got quite a scare suddenly being picked up"

Azaghal didn't like the forest of mirkwood the dwarf was more at home in the blue mountains he soon stopped as he saw something over the castle walls looking at them.It seems like they weren't alone as they approached the woodlands realm " Look alive lad we have eyes watching " Azaghal warned as they got closer and closer toward their destination.

Look alive? How was he supposed to look alive with his face covered by a mask? "Why should I? No one ever seems to show courtesy anymore, that would explain why they have something watching us like we're intruders." Rambled the elf, looking up at the walls as well. He even waved at the eagle to show he was friendly. It would be only a matter of time until he was proven wrong after saying that, that's what seemed to happen a lot to him.

Looking out over the Forest Belarain saw a Dwarf and Dark Elf approaching the caste. Jumping down from the wall and sticking his head through the open window. there is a Dwarf and Elf approching the castle along the forest road.
Gandalf was speaking to the king about arranging for the Lights to leave the castle from the next morning and head east along the forest road and then North to the mountain. "The road will be long and perilous and i do not know what kind of reception you will recieve when you reach the mountain as the Lands around it have grown rough and the inhabitants have gone wild i do not even thing the dwarfs in the mountain itself will welcome you as they have been too long without a king but i suggest you go to the main gate anyway but if that fails you should try entering from the new hidden gate on the east. it has grown late you should get as much rest as possible. just then Belarain stuck his head in through the window

"Legolas old friend if this keeps up we will have to build you new guest quarters" Bolin spoke up "i think we better great our guests at the gate" "Torli think you should take command of the the Dwarf phalanx when we open the gate while Elatan joins the Elves on the gatehouse

"you need to be assertive lad and with a little practice you will be able command entire armies made up of all 5 branches of the Dwarf military" with his back to the dwarves he bellowed "Shield wall" the wall came together into a solid wall with a crash of metal on metal. its not your fault they didn't form for you it was Bolin's as he didn't explain th commands of the wall to you. still looking at Torli he shouted. "Spears out" and in one swift movement the whole opened there walls and thrust the spears though the gaps. "Close up" and the dwarves raised there spears and closed the wall. here iis lost of wall commands for the walls

Spears out- self explanatory
open wall- the wall creates gaps allowing calvary or the elite lone dwarf warriors to move through the wall and calling shield wall again will reform the wall
Column of march- self explanatory
Tortoise- forms a wall of shields in front and both flanks great for attacking gates or moving through unfamilar streets or tunnels
Taking a stick he began drawing on the ground as explained how dwarf armies worked. "usually the commander is part of the wall but as an archer/lone warrior you can fight from behind or beside were you can shoot over the wall at a high angle or order the upper layer of shields to lower them so the archers and fire a volley before raising them again. the lone warriors like ourself usually attack ahead of the wall to break up enemy formations or wait till the wall fixes the enemy in place we attack from the flanks just like the calvary would if possible while the archers and war machines bombard the enemy"

I furrow my brow and listen carefully. Sometimes it doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I still didn't really understand who I was fighting against. Orcs? Yeah... Maybe orcs.

"Well done lad now we just need to inspect them" turning back to the troops "form 2 ranks in open order for inspection" they form 2 ranks with shields to their sides and spears in there right hand resting the spear butts on the ground. Follow me Torli and watch then you can inspect the rear rank.
Walking down the rank Gimli stops with the 3rd dwarf who armor is damaged at the shoulder. "report to the forge and get your armour fixed as soon as your dismissed." continuing down the rank he stops with 7th warrior "report to the infirmory and get that spider bite seen too as he comes to 2nd to last dwarf he spots that he hasn't cleaned his weapons since the fight at the gate. "what are you playing at you last shite, why in the name Durin havn't you cleaned your weapons." the Dwarf started to speak but Gimli cut him off. "SILENCE I didn't give you permission to speak. Run !0 laps of the Courtyard now then clean your Weapons and report to me with them. Your turn now Torli

Of these dwarf warriors were my age, maybe younger. Just mature. But some were older and experienced.
I walk down the row. Trying to look as important as possible.
The fourth in line's spear was crooked. "G...Go to the forge and get that fixed." I say. Trying to sound important.
The sixth man in line looked Ill.
"Are you okay?" I ask him and he shakes his head. I look down. And see he's been shot with an arrow. "Go to the infirmary. Get better". I put my hand on his shoulder. I didn't look as harsh and strict anymore. But k felt sorry for him. He was an older dwarf with a bulbous nose and White tufty beard. He looked kind.
