Melody is a woman of immense beauty if she had tried, though due to a lack of care for her external
beauty, she does not enhance it. She is a simple woman with soft,
delicate features ranging from her
usually
constant sorrowful or worried expression
to the plumpness of her cheeks as well as the light freckles that
dotted around the
entirety of her body.. On the other hand, she may not enhance her looks, she does take
care of herself. She is a rather plump woman, as she grew up well and without
much hassle- rarely ever
missing a meal provided to her, and for this is is much fuller
figured than other people during the time.
Being unable to physically exert herself, she
does not get much physical activity besides tending to animals
or riding her mare, Cashmere.

Melody's hair falls in white-gold waves when not in her usual over the shoulder braid. As her hair is
thick and voluminous, her braid turns out the same, requiring a thick velvet ribbon to adorn
the end to keep
it from coming out. Likewise, she keeps similar care for her clothing, making sure
to wear a thick canvas
apron when preforming any kind of surgery on the people she tending too.
Underneath the apron is her usual
garb which varies between the long petticoat and a
blouse with a vest-dress that modestly covers the rest of
her rather securely. She has also
a long, plain blue dress with stains across the blouse due to a lack of an
apron during surprise
visits. When she is relaxing, she resorts to the the blue dress rather than applying the
other
pieces to herself. When riding her Mare, she removes the skirt portion of her best and replaces it with
a pair of bull leather pants with a cotton stitching on the inner legs to allow for greater
movement when
rushing to someone in need.

Melody as born to a doctor's family within the Empire's Capital, though at the time, she was a simply girl,
much like others. She grew up well as the Doctor's 3rd daughter and 7th child. Both to William
and Edith's
child, she was the child of William's favorite bride. Besides her, he had his first son with
Edith, being William
the Second, the inheritor to his successions, Gregory, the son of William and Julia,
the second successor to William
I's fortune, Melanie {Melody}, the daughter of William and Edith, Francis,
the son of William and Edith, Madeline,
daughter of William and Julia, and finally Theodore, the son of
William and Julia.

Melody grew up apart of a rather large family, though it was a frequent occurrence among the high nobility
of the time. For good behavior, the Empire would cascade the riches that her family had, a large
home and a number of wives for the patriarch. As a result, William I had only two wives, being Edith and Julia.

Silently, William hoped to impregnate Edith before his other bride, as he preferred her soft demeanor rather than
Julia's demanding one. And the result was his first son, William the
Second. He had hoped for a son, and could
breathe easy for the rest of his life as a result and a
short two months after, Gregory was born unto him. Julia was
resentful, though she knew she didn't
have much of a place to speak among the home.

As the years went on, the Empire was still bustling, and Melody had begun to take her basic classes, learning
how to read and right, but as she began to get older, she found that the classes changed.
Instead of being with the
younger boys, she was exclusively with the little girls but she knew she missed
her friends that she had made. She
didn't understand the shift of her life, and how it would eventually
begin to change. Or how the books she was
forced to read would change as well, how they were novels
rather than the other types she wanted to experience.
She was 9 when she realized the shift and went
to her mother, Edith who simply told her that she should go read
the book she was assigned as she was
busy with the toddler who was drooling all over her in the blanker she held.
So instead she found herself
at Julia's side.

"Momma Julia? Where did the books go?"
Melody's large blue eyes had looked up at her other mother, and Julia's green eyes looked back down at her,
and she extended the hand that was on her pregnant belly down to the curly haired girls head.

"Which books changed?"
"The ones with the pretty pictures!"
Julia quietly sighed as she sat up, beginning to reach to her nightstand and lifted the book of the styles,
delicately
describing the different styles and fashion of far off countries that seemed to far for the woman with
her third child on his or her way. She looked up to the girl and waved it to her, and then handing it to her.

"Here yo-"

Melody shook her head, pouting. She temporarily looked around the room.

"Not that one, this one!"

She turned wide eyed while she rushed over to her mothers bookshelves, and pulled out a rather large one
that had several pages, and it was one of Julia's own favorites. One with maps and
descriptions of far off places.
So many different tales that could be imagined in such places. She
simply looked over the little girl, slightly
baffled within the confines of her mind.

"It's strange that you're not my daughter.."
She murmured silently as the large book overtook the little girl, a wide smile on her lips.
Julia had sighed and scooted over, lightly patting the bed.

"Bring it here child, we can read it together."
From that night on, she and her mother, Julia, had begun to read together, both being jubilant by the prospect
of far off lands and tales of adventure. But when Melody was 16 and ready for
marriage, she found herself in the
same position Julia had found herself in. She wasn't like her
other mother, Edith. She wanted something more with
her life. When she was just 11, she had
begun to make peaks at her brother William's notes, having been tutored by
their own father. And
when she would express her interest in the medical field, her father simply scoffed at her and
brushed
off her daughters ambitions. So she went to her safety net, Julia. Her family was like any others on the
outside, but Julia and Melody were two peas in a pod. They expressed to each other, and talked to each other about
the things they would do in different scenarios.

And upon her 17th birthday, her father approached her, trying to convince her to marry another mans son, Arthur.
Upon meeting the man, she did find him handsome, but he was simply that. He was more
like her father than she
realized, not wanting to listen to her during their courtship. She wasn't sure of it,
not of him nor herself. So she
waited, wanting to desperately escape. But then the unthinkable happened.

William the First had gotten sick and William the II was in charge of their father, but he was doing a poor job.
Her brother being near 20 at the time had simply wanted to watch him wither away. He said he didn't
know how
to help him or the ailment he had watched his father have, though Melody had seen what was
happening. She saw
the flowers getting crushed, she knew that kind they were. And how she knew that
nightshades were lethal in high
doses, but in smaller doses. . She rushed back to one of the books that
were hidden underneath a floorboard in her
room and looked through the pages.

"Counteract nightshade b-"
"What are you doing?"
Julia stood at the doorway, having left Theodre several rooms back with one of the maid servants. And Melody
had looked up to her mother, lightly tapping at her book, her blue eyes wide with worry.

"I-It's father!"
Julia stepped forward, closing the door behind her, letting her fingertips grip onto the books, reading over the
contents, her own stomach dropping.

"H-Haven't you seen them around too? They are pretty but with the children around I found it suspicious. Then
I found father had same symptoms as nightshade poison. Someone is poisoning him, Mother!
"

"H-.. I didn't even realize you kept this but.."

"Please, you ha-"

As Melody sad on the floor, a knock came on her door, and both seemed to panic, the book being in her room,
and her father being sick..

"Melanie?"
William had called, his fingertips fading from the door, as he began to push it open, and he found Melody in the
process of putting back the wood plant where it was, with the rug being shoved to
the side and his eyes narrowed on

her.

"What is going on here?"

: Prologue :
That night, she and her brother came to a conclusion as he found his plan had been foiled by his own baby sister.
He offered an ultimatum, he would heal their father, but in exchange,
for Melody not telling everyone, she had to
admit to the crime. She opted for a note, as she left
for a majority of her belongings and a hefty amount of gold to
live comfortably for a long amount
of time thanks to Julia. She knew that if she had told, she and her part of the
family as well as
Melody could be in danger as well. So she had kept her mouth shut.

As of now, Melody simply does what she can, having learned what she could and reading through the medical
logs she copied from her brothers own through ones. Though it would be some amount
of time before her father
died, as everyone knows who had wanted the nightshade around the manor,
but for now she knew she was alright.
She would be safe as her fathers fist and favorite daughter within
that home. How Arthur wouldn't speak to her
again if she had tried. How her family all except Julia think
that she had tried to slowly poison her own father.

But for now she was with another group of misfits, where she can simply lie about herself in hopes of keeping
herself safe.

So she changed her name to Melody.
