Alex pushed open the doors to the famous 'Blue Moon Bar' Her short hair blew a bit when the doors opened. After the car accident she had to cut it, Alex wasn't sure if she liked it long or short, both looked cute to her. It was about 11:34 when she sat at her normal seat in the bar. Alex, along with Jake, was a regular at the bar. The owner, who was also the bartender kne wher name and drink.

As she sat down, Alex looked up to see the owner's grinning face in front of her.
"Hey Devon.." her voice dragged out. He smiled at her before commenting "The usual Alex?" it was more of a statement than question.

As he walked away to get her drink, Alex glanced towards the door, wondering where Jake was. He texted her saying they should meet her here tonight. Today was Thursday and it's not her regular day to be here, so as Devon came back with her drink he arched an eyebrow at her.

"It's not your usualy day? Usually it's Jake's where is he?" he asked throwing questions at her. Alex shrugged in reponse, "He texted me but i don't-" before she could finish her sentence, someone's hand was lightly placed on her shoulder.

____

Jake was driving home from his usual job. Today was his regular day at The Blue Moon, but he didn't feel like drinking alot, so he quickly sent a text to Alex and made his way to The Blue Moon. Jake knew he was late since when he walked in Alex was already talking to the bartender, Devon. He decided to scare her, or at least try.

So as he walked up behind Alex, Jake signled with his finger for Devon to be quiet. He slowly placed his hand on her shoulder and leaned closer to her and wishpered "
Im here to kill you." he said this in a low, creepy voice.

Alex had stopped mid-sentence, but she didn't say anything. Instead she turned around on the stool and kicked Jake in the leg, and she was wearing boots with heals. After she kicked him Jake held the part of his leg where he got kicked and hoped his way to the seat next to her.

"Hey Jake. bout time you showed up." she said in a montone voice before sipping her drink. Devon, who was now laughing at what happened spoke before tending to another customer, "Oh that was funny!" he said still laughing as he made his way to the other customer.

"You knew!?" he asked as he let go of his leg that had been kicked.

Faith drove up to Blue Moon Bar. she parked her dark blue Mini Cooper in the back of the parking lot and let out a sigh as she stepped out of the foreign car. she walked into the bar and took a seat at the bar.she brushed a few strands of hair out of her face as she asked for a glass of water. she wasnt much of a drinker, so she would probably end up drinking a lot of water and maybe one fruit cocktail. she had to drive herself home after all, so she couldnt have too many.

as she sipped at her water, she looked at the well kept, lightly jeweled watch that was on her small wrist. she wondered how long it would take the doctors to figure out what was wrong with her mother? it wasnt the first time she ended up in the hospital, but Faith was worried as ever. she thought having one or two drinks would help her wind down.

Jonah Thomas made his way back into The Blue Moon, clearly prepared for a night to sulk. His day had been rough and he looked like he had crawled out of a hole. He used to be clean shaven, young, and neat; but since his entire life had practically gone down the drain, his hair was shaggier, he had a five o'clock shadow, and the dark circles under his eyes from constant stress and lack of sleep had aged him a few years. He roughly pulled his tie loose, and untucked his white work shirt then sat himself on the far side of the bar. He noticed the owner talking to a young woman and man that he saw most nights, but had never talked to them himself. He didn't have the energy, or the time. His advertising business was still plummeting, and he already behind a month's rent. It was amazing how he had gone from a $400,000 salary, two story Victorian home, and a black lexus...to a small rental home, used toyota corolla and barely enough money to pay his staff.

Nothing could be worse, he thought, motioning for Devon to come his way.

((Are you playing role of the bar owner as well?))

Heather-

I was driving just for the hell of it. I didn't have any place to be and I wasn't exactly going anywhere. I was just in the mood to get away. Unfortunately getting away wasn't free. I noticed my gas tank was running on empty and I sighed.

I wasn't planning on stopping but I didn't really have a choice. I pulled into the nearest gas station and got out to pump my gas. I watched in disgust as an old man winked at me.

I quickly turned around to face the opposite way.

It was then that I noticed a bar across the street. Nothing too flashy...but I kinda wanted a drink now. I finished getting gas and paid for it before hopping back in my car and making the short trip across the street. There weren't too many cars in the lot so I hoped it wouldn't be too busy. I pulled open the door and stepped in. There were a few people by the bar so I stepped up and waited my turn to order something.

Jeremy Malicove studied the bar from his position at a corner table. He had never been here before, so it was a whole new experience for him. Since his wife's sudden betrayal and the divorce, he had spent most nights at his new home, reading or playing the second hand piano he had managed to salvage from a nearby waste depot. It was still in working condition and after a few days of work, it was good as new. Piano was his second love, coming only after his daughter. He sighed, sipping the beer in front of him. He had decided to get out of the house tonight, to change the scenery a bit and maybe enjoy himself. He was twenty four, but he felt so much older. So many of the people in the bar looked so much younger than him, yet he knew they coudn't be. He looked out the window to see his own beaten up truck outside, the car he had used and loved for years, despite his successful career. He hadn't wanted to give up the car he'd had since before he met the woman he had loved unconditionally, not even when she begged him to. No, Jeremy was a strong willed man, a man that would not back down unless he absolutely had to. His game was justice and truth, and he had neither now. He sighed again, watching as four new people entered the bar, each their for their own purpose. He didn't know them, doubted he ever would, but he could tell they all had troubles. Jeremy was good at reading people.

He watched the two at the bar with interest, remembering when he had done a similar thing. It was difficult to think he was only twenty four. So much had already happened to him in a matter of months that it seemed like he was simply an older man trying to masquerade as someone far younger. When had the world become so complex, he wondered. When did the vows that you made become just words? He let out a heavy sigh again, downing the last of his drinking and making his way over to the bar to get a new one.

Austin pulled up at the bar. Yes, this was the spot. The hotel he was staying in recommended this bar to him. He parked his car and got out. He locked it and walked into the bar. He sat down next to a young woman wearing a jeweled watch. While waiting for the bartender to make his way over, Austin struck up conversation.

"Hello, ma'm." He said, using his best manners. "Pretty watch you got there." That's not creepy, he thought. "I'm Austin, I'm new to town. You come here often?"

Faith looked up to see a young man about her age sit down. she adjusted the watch a bit and smiled, "thank you, it was a gift". she took another sip of her water, wondering if she wanted a fruit cocktail yet. she might as well. "this is my first time here actually" she looked up and down the bar as she waited for the bartender to return. she would probably get something strawberry, since she loved the so much.

As he walked over to Jonah, trying to hold in his laughter, which wasn't working. "Hey Jonah, the usual?" he said with a hint of laughter in his voice. Devon was also not taking out his notebook and pen for his order. Devon had felt bad for what happened Jonah, after hearing what had happen with his ex, he wouldn't expect him to be all happy and such. But Devon thought it would better if he got back out there and socialize. As he thought this, Alex popped into his head. She was a nice girl, single, and here tonight. Maybe they would talk. He thought, but mentally laughed at the idea that someone at The Blue Moon would socialize.

Devon wondered if Faith would ignore him, or actually talk with him.

______

"Who wouldn't? Your so loud, and Devon can't keep a straight face."
she said saying the last part louder so the bartender could hear over the soft country music playing.

Turning around in her seat, Alex saw the usual band playing on the small stage. She wondered if the band was making money off this small job, or if it was a hobby.

______

Devon turned to Alex to respond to her comment,
"Hey, i got a decent poker face." he said in a defensive tone as he turned back to Jonah.

"First time for me too. I just moved up here from San Antonio, Texas. I'm Austin by the way. Austin Torres." The bartender came over. "Hey, I'll take a cocktail. Whatever you got."

Faith smiled politly, "Faith Ernst, nice to meet you. this is actually my hometown." she also ordered her cocktail. she turned back to him. "is the weather as dry in texas as it is here?" she asked.

Jeremy listened to the light banter of the ones he assumed were regulars and the bartender. They seemed to get on well. He smiled slightly. Perhaps he would find it easy to come back here and socialise. He'd had a lot of trouble with that department after the divorce, but he was beginning to get back on his feet. The first task on his list now was to find a job. As he waited patiently for Devon, he had overheard one of the earlier girls calling him that, he wondered how he could approach the subject. A pub like this would surely be the best place to scout out work. Of course, he had a lot of skills that wouldn't be required in many areas, but still, he worked hard and could do just about anything if he set his mind to it. He studied the other visitors to the bar, noting each person carefully. It was a habit of his. He wanted to work out what he could before speaking to them and then find out if he was right. It was a game he and his brother played as children. the memory brought a fond smile to his face as he waited.

Heather-

When it came my turn, I ordered myself a martini and took it to one of the tables. I sat there looking around. I found myself wondering why they were all here. Some of them you could tell come here often. Other seemed nervous, shy even. First timers. I hoped I didn't look that way. I took another sip and tried to make myself seem comfortable

Austin laughed. "It's actually dryer, if you can believe that." Despite what his kind told him, Austin's heart was telling him how much he missed Texas.

Teegan was drivin down the road; her stero not to loud, she was going to the Blue Moon bar that she'd heard so much about. She kept a sharp eye put for it. Then she saw it; a decent sized building with neon blue letters scrawled in cursive over an blue moon, yes this was definitely the place. She walked inside and sat down at the bar "I'll have a margarita" she said wih a smile

Devon nodded to Jonah and looked over his shoulder to another customer, "Sure no problem." running over to the counter he quickly made a normal cocktail and handed it to the guy. Which surpisingly the man was talking to another girl.

'Wow, someone is talking to someone else.' he thought in his head. Of course Jake and Alex didn't count.

"Im the bartender Devon, if you need anything give me a holler." he said to the two before making his way to another customer.

He looked in around twenty-five or twenty-four years old, a first-timer. There was alot there tonight, he wondered what happened in town that got him all the new customers tonight. [That was refearing to your character @
IndubidablyAli]

"Sorry for the wait, my name is Devon what can i get you?" he said in his usual peppy attitude. Devon was just naturally peppy and happy.

_____

Jake snorted and Devon's defesive comment,
"Yeah sure, if you play against a five year old, then you might win." he said sarcastticly to Devon, who was tending to all the new customers.

Before he could start talking to Alex about work, his phone vibrated lightly. Pulling it out he read the text message than scoffed.

Alex looked over at him,
"What is it?" she asked with curiousity in her voice.

[And just to let you guys know, there is only one bartender working there, since the place is small and doesn't get many customers at a time.]

"Hey Devon," Jonah said after contemplating for a moment, "I actually would rather take a whiskey, dry please." He set his elbows onthe table and looked around at everyone. There were a couple fresh faces in the bar tonight. Young people. People being friendly to each other. Jonah could barely stomach it. He couldn't imagine why these people had chosen to come here. He knew if he had everything together he certain wouldn't be drinking his troubles away by the glass. He noticed a young woman, maybe a couple years younger than be was ask for a margarita and smiled. Chelsea used to drink margaritas all the time. It made such an emotion roll over him that he had to set his head down. He wondered what she was doing these days. He assumed she was playing the role of Allemon enterprises C.E.O. all while being the secret lover of a married man.

It was almost comical these days to think about how she left a wonderful life to live in secret behind another man's office. Of course, she did have a wonderful life now, and Jonah's was going to hell.

He waited on his drink impatiently.

Faith took a sip of her drink and let the flavor sink in. she loved the flavor of strawberries. "i guess it would be." so, why did you move here?" Faith asked curiously. she swirled her drink a bit and took a look around.

Jeremy looked over in surprise, tuning back into reality as Devon spoke to him.

'Ah.. just another beer. Doesn't matter what kind really.' He said, his voice slightly husky from disuse. He'd hardly spoken to anyone in the past day. He remembered his need for employment and gave Devon his full attention.

'Hey, you wouldn't happen to know of any work opportunities around here would you? I just bought a place recently and I need to find work. I've got to keep myself busy somehow.' He asked with a friendly smile that faultered slightly when he thought of the move that had taken place barely a month earlier. He looked over as a woman walked in, ordering a margarita. He wondered what she was doing there, just like he did with everyone else, being an inquisitive person. She looked as sorrowful as the rest of them and he chuckled to himself. He was included in that, he had to remind himself.

"What do you do?" Jonah asked the young man who asked about work. He realized this guy was probably the same age as him, maybe a year younger, but, like himself, looked much older. He wondered what had brought him to The Blue Moon.

Jonah moved a couple seats over toward the man named Jeremy.

Devon was about to walk away when the man asked him a question. Turning about around he rubbed the back of his neck. "Depends on the work. I mean Alex just got out of the hospital for a car accident. She might be looking for work." he said motioning to Alex, who was still speaking to Jake.

He saw that Jonah looked impatient and turned back to the man,
"I have to go to another customer, you can go and ask her if you want. I'll back with your beer in a sec." he said before speed walkign his way back to the bar to get Jonah his whiskey.

Walking back to Jonah he laid the whiskey down in front of him, then went back to get that other guy a beer. Quickly making his way back to the guy, he laid the beer down in front of him.
"If you need anything else, just call me." he said with a smile.

Turning his head in the direction of the door, he saw another first-timer. Walking back over to the counter, he made the margrita and took over to her.
"Here you go, and my name is Devon. Just call if you need anything." he said to her before going back to the counter to wipe some glasses. [Your character Coedy]

___

Jake laughed a bit before shoving the phone back into his back pocket.
"It's nothing. So, have you heard from Damion. He sounded angry when you last talked to him." he said to Alex, who went back to her drink. That's when Jake noticed he didn't order a beer yet, but when he turned in front of him was a beer. He grinned before taking a sip from it. Devon was the best.

Alex shurgged,
"Who knows, he always sounds angry." she said sarcasticly, but it was te truth.

"Tragedy in the family," Austin told her and took a sip of his drink. It was good. "My parents died in a car crash, and I couldn't take it. Dropped out of college, abandoned te family, and moved out here." He gave a sad little smile before asking her, "And you?"

Faith gave him a gentle smile, "i hope you find some rest here." she sipped at her drink, "as for me i never met my father, and ive been taking care of my terribly frail mother for 2 years. im actually here waiting for a call about her condition. she is in the hospital right now." she gazed at her watch with a gentle yet pained smile.

Jonah took big sip of his whiskey as he waited for the young man to answer him. The burn down his throat sent a warmth to his stomach and it actually made Jonah feel a bit better. Whoever said booze can't make you feel better lied, he thought to himself. A smug smile stretched across his lips and he took another swig. He was planning on pacing himself tonight, and he told himself he'd set a limit to his number of drinks.

Jonah realized he told himself the same thing nearly every time he came in, but would end up smashed and basically crawling to the door to get home.

He knew he had a problem, and that his liver would surely give out eventually, but part of him almost wanted it to if it meant he didn't have to live another moment like he was now. He figured the sooner he was out of his situation the better, whether it be somewhere six-feet under, or somehow recovering his company; although he current mental state figured the first outcome would happen first.

"Thank you and I hope you get good news with your mother." Austin drained the last of his cocktail. "Hey bartender? Can I have a couple of beers?"

"i certainly do too." Faith usually wouldnt have two drinks, but the ones at this shop tasted rather good and she was craving another. this was unusual for her but she didnt mind, she felt like she could actually relax for once. although, she wasnt much of talker she seemed to be managing fine.
