Fandom Mass Effect: C-Sec

Janus93

Most exalted
The year is 2184, and in the aftermath of Sovereign's attack on the Citadel, the galaxy releases its baited breath, and begins to pick up the pieces after the Geth attack. While the Citadel recovers, however... crime doesn't sleep. Crime never sleeps.

Kithoi Ward, the Citadel. A thriving hub of commerce populated by those from every walk of life, every race. There are those who hail the wards as the beating heart of the galaxy, vibrant and real in a way the Presidium can never match. Give me the streets any day, give me the grit. There's real work to be done in Kithoi... to stop this whole damned station sliding into chaos. To root out corruption, to bring those with blood on their hands to justice... that would be a fine thing. Never a dull day in Kithoi.

Introducing Mass Effect: C-Sec, a crime based Mass Effect roleplay! Captain Ferrox is the head of an crime investigative unit, responsible for bringing the criminals of Kithoi Ward to justice. Murder, corruption, hostages, piracy - nothing is beyond your remit.

The plan for this RP is for me to GM a series of cases (acting in character as Captain Ferrox, a variety of NPCs, and the Law Enforcement Virtual Intelligence - or LEVI - to help give you some pointers along the way) with plenty of down time in between for character development and interaction. In my head, this is a Mass Effect version of L.A. Noire, hope that appeals to some people! Currently planning a few self-contained cases, watch this space...

As for roles in the RP, they would be almost exclusively C-Sec officers (unless anyone has some amazing ideas that I haven't thought of). As suggested here there are several different roles in C-Sec - for this RP, take your pick re: what you want your character to specialise in!

If you're up for the challenge and fancy trying to clean up Kithoi, then just let me know!

Great stuff, I'll have the RP up soon - also, don't suppose any of you know how to do fancy things with BBCode by any chance?

Also get thinking about your characters guys! Remember that chances are they'd have to be turian, human, asari or salarian, I don't think there are any other races that make up C-Sec!

Actually, considering it being a multi-racial galaxy - I can assume, there are others.

The majority, might be those races - but there could be a handful of other minorities too.

Drell would be good as investigators, or demolition-experts, seeing as they could remember everything with 100% accuracy.

Or a krogan Special Response officer - perfect riot model. It would assume, them on being the rarity - like women in Special Force' Units. You have to prove you are worth it - as such, it would be difficult for them at first; but they could be eventually accepted.

As far as I'm aware there aren't, though I'm sure there might be the odd one here and there - definitely not any significant minority.

Considering there are billions of individuals in the galaxy and and only about 200,000 officers pre-ME1. I would assume, they would have one or two for that; or branch out to encompass more people.

I read, that at the beginning of ME1, humans had roughly 117 officers at first. So there might be some others, considering the the thousand years, that have passed, since the end of any large-wars.

Ok here's the thing: if you look at the wiki, it says "it was the turians who first proposed creating a police force for the Citadel, which may be why more than half of all C-Sec officers are turian. Humans appear to form the largest minority, with at least 116 officers in the Zakera ward as of 2185, followed by salarians and asari." So, no. There are no drell or krogan in the force. Sucks, but if we want to stay true to the series those are facts. But hey, we could always say screw the rules and do it anyway. (But, for character creation and all that we also have to remember that applicants to C-sec must be sponsored by a counselor)

I'm up for it; Just hoping not everybody goes Special Response, and we actually get some diversity.
