Fantasy Marked for Death [Interest Check] [Always Accepting]

Literally Batman

World's Greatest Detective
Marked for Death

Imagine a world where the ability to use magic was real, not just the speak of fairy tales, and where much of the population could use magic, to certain degrees. This world is not just a fantasy land. In the land of Arlia, this dream is a reality, where people, whether knights or bakers, rogues or merchants, used magic, which manifested itself as magical abilities. This land seems like a magical place- however, the land is plagued by poverty and tyranny, where the King and his consorts live in luxury, while much of the common people suffer. As much as 75% of people live in poverty, many of them forced to live on the streets or in filthy, cramped houses. Another 20% of Arlia are guards, who get better lives but are forced to sell their souls away to the King of Arlia, and must risk their lives for him. The last 5% are either in the Royal Family or are friends of the King, and they live in luxury, in grandiose manors and castles, to be praised by the poor.

Many of the people of Arlia are hoping for a new, fresh start with the ascending king, Lord Draygon, who seems like a charismatic, humble man, much more so than his late father, Lord Uron. However, Draygon is just as oppressive and greedy as his father, and is more than willing to hurt the people for his own benefit or even amusement.

Enter Shadow Eye

Shadow Eye is a group of elite assassins formed to usurp the tyrannical government and kill anybody who exploits the people of Arlia. Their ranks are small and their morals make them not the ideal saviors of Arlia. However, most of them, if not all, are people who want to see the rest of the world freed. Shadow Eye sometimes operates as individuals and sometimes as a group, but either way, they are the top of their game. Shadow Eye assassins are so devoted to their positions, they all brand themselves with the mark of the Demon's Eye, seen above. Shadow Eye does not go about actively killing, in fear of being caught, but takes requests from clients who have been maltreated by others. Shadow Eye is sometimes paid, sometimes not.

A new client has arrived for Shadow Eye, with the biggest mark of them all- the King himself, along with four of his biggest advisors. He has offered Shadow Eye a massive sum of money in exchange for their lives. However, the money is not the main motivator for Shadow Eye. It is time for the regime of Arlia to fall.

A Wrench in the Works

However, the client, a man known only as Gamemaster, had one major flaw in his plan. There was a mole. The mole reported back to Lord Draygon, who, paranoid, formed the Elite Guard, a group built to usurp Shadow Eye and protect him and his consorts. By any costs necessary. The Elite Guard's intervention will make ending the Royal bloodline much more difficult.

However, Shadow Eye is ready.

Any interest is appreciated!

however, if you choose to play a noble, id recommend playing as somebody else as well. it would be difficult to get into the story that much as a noble

Okay, I'll make two characters then :)

Would I be alright to have my noble character be a son of one of the targets? Not the King, but maybe one of the other four?

Absolutely.

Edit: Not Lord Everett though, he doesn't have children. He's just a lonesome knight guy thing
