Proposal Guidelines

All group members will be allowed to create threads with project proposals. Users will be allowed to post more than one proposal at a time (maximum of 3), but please remember to be respectful and thoughtful.

What Should A Proposal Look Like?

Users should include a reason why they are giving this proposal. Their proposal should be beneficial to the site and not negative. This board is not meant as a workshop or feedback forum.  Ideas should be applicable to the entire site and not just a personal project. Examples of proposals: Changing avatars to a Pokemon for one day, holding a competition for the site, taking a day out to welcome new members, having the group come together to create a large poem. Almost anything can be suggested. If you get enough votes for it, then it will be done.

Again, this area is not meant for people to critique personal work.  RpNation already provides these resources for you in the Workshop forum (ADD) and Discussion forum (ADD).  Please post any personal projects you want to share with the site in those respective areas.

Voting & Polls

Each proposal should include a poll with two voting options. One option should stand for approval and the other option should stand for rejection. Voters should only be allowed to choose one option and votes should not be visible until a vote is made. Please do not include a third option (even as a joke). We want polls to be as accurate as possible. Polls will be closed within 2 weeks time.

In order for a proposal to pass into a Current Project, it must have at least 60% of the group’s total members willing to join in and participateThe # of votes needed for 60% will always be listed at the top of the Suggested Proposals Section under the Project Proposal Forum found here: Suggested Proposals.

Accepted Proposals

Accepted proposals will be marked and moved to the Current Projects Section. Only three active projects are allowed to run at the same time. If the group is already running the maximum amount of projects, the thread will remain as a Project Proposal and be open for discussion. Users will be notified when a proposal is moved into an active position in the Current Projects Section.

Rejected Proposals

Rejected proposals will be locked and have no further discussion. Rejected proposals may be revived 1 month after receiving permission from a Founding Member.

Voting Guidelines

While we understand that this is a public forum, we ask that users who are not part of the group restrain from voting in the polls. Public users are more than welcome to participate in our discussions, however.  Everyone's opinion will matter!  When voting, please double check that you have selected the correct response!  You will not be able to change your vote once you have submitted one.

Going From A Proposal To A Personal Project

If you would like to take a proposal and turn it into a personal project, you must have the permission of the proposal creator. Once you have their permission, you may then begin working on the idea yourself. What's the benefit of a personal project? You get to skip out on waiting for the group, to do something you think you can handle on your own. It allows ideas to still be worked out, even though they may not have enough support needed to be accepted as a group proposal.
