Shinji was the more darker side of god The side of god which wanted to destroy instead of create,evil instead of good,dark instead of holy...Shinji got out of gods body and decided to live his own life and change his ways So he took control of a boy then after that boy reached its limits he took control of another boy...And the cycle goes on and on,He is currently inside his tenth body (Doctor Who Reference!!)

Shinji is very lazy and doesn't like to do anything except drinking the blood from the other species...He is fine with drinking any kind of blood except for....Well human blood and food Ewww it's tastes so weird...Shinji can be a jerk sometimes and mess with you but he can be a good friend even though how he behaves is different from human...He can still be a really good friend
