The empire is a large place,It's size in square miles would be roughly the equivalent to the countries of china and Russia. It spans the entirety of the planets largest continent, with the exception being across the sea to the south which is a land occupied by the giant territories. No one goes beyond the large mountain ridge to the giant lands. To the east is the ocean to the other continent on this planet.
The western half of the empire is made up of the countries that have allied with the giant nation. further north beyond the shell is the Great Cauldron. A massive ring of eternally active volcanoes that make the great cauldron a bubbling chaotic magma plane, the iffriti dwell here and are mortal enemies of all other life forms.
The expanse of the empire and its allies stretches across vast deserts, deep jungles, plains that go beyond the horizon, and even frozen tundras to the south. There are people of all kinds from all corners of the kingdoms. The other Kingdoms have nearly three times the amount of men as the empire if they work together, but the empire has four times their combined wealth, and not ill gained wealth. So far they seem to be in a peaceful state.
The two primary antagonists are the Iffriti, Fire elemental with tremendous power, and the giants to the south who are also dangerously powerful. The giants seem to be less of a threat as they don't like to leave their territories, but the iffriti regularly March armies out.

The Sallija Family: Nobles of Thieves

While the Sallija are merely entertainers to the regular people, they have a long lineage dating back to the beginning of the Thieves’ Guild, an underground network of criminals. While the family set itself to entertain, the pickpocketing and sudden loss of expensive brooches never ceased in the audience. Young children were sent for this job, while the adults captivate their audience. But, for the right price of course, the Sallija are a powerful political family and ally. They are natural spies and their innate charisma charms those they encounter. They have contacts almost everywhere that can get them anything they want. And, unlike most unaffiliated criminals, the Sallija have standards...and pride. Every thief knows not to mess with a Sallija.

Spoiler: The Shell Pact

The northern edge of the empire is a strange place; the empire officially ends at the falls. The edges of the falls carve out a basin hundreds of meters deep and many miles across forming a rough horseshoe shape. Over the year the water level changes from filling the basin to near zero leaving deserts.

Within the basin lies a mountain, the largest in the kingdom reaching above even the edge of the basin. The natives it’s the body of an Obsidian Sun Turtle struck by a Gods Hammer but unyielding. The body slopes of the mountain are extremely fertile when the water is low enough. Both the cliffs and slopes of the mountain are dotted with smaller settlements, but the jewel of the mountain lies in its dormant crater chamber, the obsidian city, the Shell.

The Shell claims independence from the empire (what are they going to do come up here and fight us) but the Falls are debatable, during the desert season they are essentially inaccessible for the Shell meaning the Falls then act like part of the empire, but during the wet season travel between the Shell and the Falls is reliable enough that the shorter travel time between the Falls and Shell means they are more closely related than the Falls and the capital.

As such the falls are considered neutral ground, neither power can establish a military presence but both may keep up economic and diplomatic ties.
