Even in her displeasure there is a pallid tenderness just beneath the snappy lectures and sharp glares offered to the rabble-rousers. It's a flawless transition between idleness and obstinance. Truly the woman shows a laughable childishness in relation to the oddest of things. Once a decision has been declared—no matter how outlandish—there is no convincing her otherwise.

  Biography

  There is only so much of the Matron's story the orphans could gather.
  
  Abella, naturally, was not the first to head this home. Her predecessor was far older than she, and twice as unforthcoming. Despite the inevitability of passing the torch, there was palpable shared dissension. All up until one unexpectedly passed, and left the entirety to their apprentice.
  
  Abella had much of the bygone belongings sold or burned, while the rest remained tucked away in the one place she forbid the most—the study beyond the humble trove of books.

Matilda can be described as very quiet, someone that generally blends into the background. Matilda rarely speaks out-loud unless she has need to and even then her tone is rather soft and gentle. Rarely would Matilda ever raise her voice unless absolutely necessary.

Matilda can be shy towards those she does not know, especially those she has never seen before; it would not be uncommon for her to hide behind someone nearby when confronted with a stranger, blue eyes peeking out at the person warily.

She is fairly decent at masking her emotions, which leads others to believe that she is calm and collected but in reality, she is just able to hide how she is truly feeling.

A kind-hearted soul by nature, Matilda's empathetic tendencies lead her to lending a helping hand whenever she is able and she is unable to turn away from a person in need of help.
