Lone Survivors

After being holed up in their apartments for what seemed like weeks, two resilient and determined survivors of a disease-ravaged city decide that tonight they take action. They meet by chance, learning that there is hope and that they aren't alone in this new world. Then, moving in the darkness and through stifling air, they must find a way out of their decaying building and into the infested city where even greater danger is to be faced. Driven by a will to live, the two will work together and fight against both horrific monsters and their looming insanity.

Night loomed over the whole city. Tall, thin, dirty, white and timid monsters with lack of facial features tapped on the walls and trudged through the corridors. They were sick. They were monsters made of something. They assumed it was a virus. And now these husks wander a ravaged interior, seeking sustenance. They feed on flesh and the survivors are aware of this. And so they boxed themselves in, living in a microcosm of their own existence while the rest of the city and beyond submitted to a mindless state of frenzy and decay. But on this night, the survivors decided that an idle death was no longer what they wanted.

In their building, doors to other rooms are often locked or boarded up. Windows to the outside are broken with jagged and rough glass. The floors are littered with debris and rubble. Glass, dirt, and dust are common. A few personal items are rare. Some walls are caved in or have holes in them, leaving tight entrances to other rooms or sections. Wallpapers have peeled or been ripped up. The whole building is filthy and the air is heavy and stifle.

Electricity still worked in the complex for a very small number of select appliances. However, the hallway outside of the survivors' rooms were black. They could hear screeching and scratching outside of their doors. It was not loud, signifying that a tall monster was not in close range, but still somewhere in the darkness. The survivors, whether planning to escape their complex for a while or acting on a whim, decided that they needed tools before leaving the safety of their rooms. They may or may not be back, they thought. Whether evasion or a direct offensive approach to these monsters was their forte, it may be best to pack for both situations. If they're lucky, they may find more supplies if they choose to scavenge.

Here the survivors were in their rooms preparing for their departure.

Clairvoyance Clairvoyance is in room 219 on the second floor right next to the staircase.
uwupolice uwupolice is in room 206 on the second floor.
There are two floors and a basement.
