Name: Hragsfrot
Visualization: Hragsfrot is a small and relatively poor nation. Its capital remains the only major city, near the coast to the north-east of the island. Villages follow the example and also locate themselves near the sea, where many rely on the fishing trade. Hragsfrot has one main castle defending against the south-west, and a large look-out tower supporting the docks on the north-east 'drip.' Its 'Order of Spring' keeps itself in the Orester forests, north from the lake.

Location: Ragevault

General Information: The nation's income is supported mainly by the fish trade, mining, and mercenary contracts. The latter has given the nation some small amount of reputation in the competence of its sailors, though talk of it does not reach beyond the island. They are known for defending fishing ships on the coasts, pirate hunting, and transporting travelers.

The culture of the nation is much in its people; rarely can extravagent items or decorations be purchased by the common peasantry, but they have been known find their own clever ways of making beautiful homes - Travellers (few as they are) have referred to the villages as the "Pearls of the shore," for the displays proudly shown on the roofs; it is common for one to create images with woven straw or the controlled rusting of metal sheets, both of which afterwards coloured with dies made from a variety of available materials. Only the poorest, or the most asocial, of the populace have truly plain houses. Sadly, the interiors do not have the same care. To compensate, the people are known for their very social attitude - Enjoying music and stories. Though, as it is known to any traveller or outsider, the citizens are very secretive and asocial to any not born within the nation - often to those not born within their village. As a result, the nation and its people are viewed with large suspicion, breeding hundreds of rumours regarding dark secrets of beasts or dark rituals. Travellers believed to have seen and returned from the land tell of a place where the dead walk among the living, experiencing day and night as a parody of humanity. They also speak ill of their 'false order,' a collection of abominations hiding their rotting skin behind scavenged armours and animal hides. Indeed, the unwelcome attitude Hragsfrot holds against outsiders is very much returned.

Hragsfrot hosts both a professional army and a registered militia - The latter of which to be used only in an emergency. Since the invasion following the birth of magic, every citizen at the age of 16 is expected to spend at least two years in the professional army. However, there is often little to fear; the only danger most expect ranges from a drunken fight to boredom. There is more to fear from the Orester forest posting, but most are not so unlucky - And even if someone is given the position, it is mostly spent catching and executing the stragglers following a skirmish finished by the Order of Spring. The Order itself has slowly been made the much-needed backbone of the army - A professional and experienced group of self-proclaimed knights which hunt the beasts which remain in the forests. Their castle is deep within, far from the territory of Hragsfrot. To their homeland, they are viewed largely as macabre heroes, honoured yet avoided. Outside of it, they are strange and silent beings, living always under a watchful and careful eye.
