Lessons in 4-D Length and Love

FactionParadox

The 'flow' is always a calamity.
((An RP between me, GimmickPuppet and Draiger.))

Thomas began to pick up the pace as he ran towards the next lecture room, although he would still be early, he considered being late extremely rude. He could always listen to music whilst he was waiting, and unlike most of his other classmates, he enjoyed and loved his subject, which was theoretical mathematics. He was going for a in it, he would soon be Doctor Arclight. He smiled slightly at the thought, knowing the respect he would garner from other intelligent individuals like him. He entered the room and sat down, getting out his laptop. And unlike almost all the class, he had not been up all night drinking and having indiscriminate and unprotected sex, he had been up until midnight studying, he could not afford to waste time doing trivial things, he was determined to be a Doctor and he was going to achieve it. He watched as Professor Anderson entered the class, and soon enough a picture of a Tesseract, a 4-D cube appeared on the screen. Thomas began taking notes furiously, half expecting the keys to break. He admired the crimson haired man, he had achieved what Thomas wanted to achieve. He caught his eye for a second, hoping he'd ask him a question. He could tell that the Professor was tired, physically and emotionally, tired of teaching students who didn't want to learn. Still, at least he looked back and smiled a little, probably relieved that he wasn't talking to himself.

Suzu sat in his chair in his office, it would be class soon which would mean that he would have to get up gor class. He loved to teach though not all his students where interested in learning. Sighing softly, he got up and went to his next class. Setting his things down, he got today lecture up. He was one of the few teachers who use projections and the old chalkboard. He started his lecture, ignoring the students coming in late. He couldn't stop for those who didn't want to be in his class. After he was done with the class he stayed around in case any of the student's wanted to talk to him. He closed his laptop and started to erase the board. He wonder why so many of his students didn't like his class, yet he still taught because there where students who loved his class. He turned and headed back over to his desk.

Too soon, the class ended, and Thomas was at lunch, eating his usual grilled cheese sandwich. He saw Suzu again. It was unusual for him to come and eat in the cafeteria, but then, maybe the two just missed each other, Thomas did schedule his day to the minute. Some would call that slightly overkill, but then, if he kept putting it off to relax he would never get anything done. He knew that much from personal experience. He saw the Head Chef motion over to him, and Thomas sighed inwardly, hard. He hated his job, it was hardly worthy of his brain power or his attention, but he needed to pay for rent and other stuff somehow. He was using the money his mother sent him to pay off his student loan. He did not want to spend the next decade and a half paying it off. He wanted to try and live a comfortable life, which was why he was prepared to eat anything, as long as it cost under a pound. He got up and went into the kitchen, putting an apron and a pair of rubber gloves on. He had probably the lowest position in the kitchen, but at least he was mainly ignored. He got to work, cleaning up all the mess other people had made. Why did chefs have to be so damn messy, it was almost like they were deliberately giving him more work to do. Still, it probably was deliberate, most people would call it banter, Thomas however called it immature. He then saw Professor Anderson walk past, and an unwanted wandering thought decided to pop into his head. He thought to himself "Am I seriously checking out my teacher?" His mind said no. His body said yes, in the most socially embarrassing way. Thankfully, the sink covered it. "Arclight, I don't pay you to daydream, the dishes don't wash themselves you know!" The Head Chef snapped, rousing Thomas from his thoughts. "Sorry Chef." Thomas said, whilst muttering a swear word under his breath, glaring at the overweight, middle-aged man. He got back to work, continuing to think about various things, namely what he was going to do about this schoolgirl crush on his teacher.

Suzu stayed awhile in the classroom but after all the students where gone, he sighed to himself. He grabbed his stuff and left the room himself, if students didn't want to learn they why do the bother learning and coming to an expensive University. It was something that he himself never understood at all. He loved to learn so every chance he had he took it, because he didn't come from a rich family. He had to work his way into getting things like into colleges that he had gone too. Yet some people just didn't see the reason to it, but he couldn't change other's mind only help those who wanted his help. He went back to his office and set his things down, it was lunch time but he really need to finish his work he had been doing on the side. Though he had to eat otherwise he would never eat and that wasn't good. He usually brought a lunch but then realized that he had forgotten to bring his lunch. He wrinkled his nose which meant that he was going to have to go to the cafeteria or eat out. He had another class soon so it would be too much to be going out so cafeteria it was then. He grabbed a math book and turned and headed into the cafeteria. He grabbed himself something to eat, he was lucky that this cafeteria served really good food unlike the ones during his younger years. He sat down and opened the book, he read while he ate. Which was quite normal for him, since he always ate and read. It was something that he enjoyed. Only his hair was getting in his way, lucky for him he always had a hair tie on his wrist. He turned away from his book and put his hair up into a messy bun. So that he was able to read without having hair falling in his face. After he was done, he got up and grabbed his book making sure to put his book mark in the proper spot so he didn't lose what page he was one. He brought his plate over so that it could be washed and then turned to head back to his office so that he could get ready for his history class next.

Thomas was in the library, studying. He had three essays to complete by next month, but he wanted to complete them this month so he could take a few days off and relax. He had finished off the first one and got up to get a drink of water. He wandered out of the library and went downstairs, lost in his own thoughts before bumping into someone. "I'm sorry!" Thomas said, picking up his book. He then noticed it was Professor Anderson. It was odd how much Thomas saw him today, maybe it was just random coincidence.

Suzu could say that his day was not going well. He wasn't sure what was going on, but he couldn't seem to be able to read nor do any of his work. His classes weren't turning out that great for him and he really couldn't understand it himself. He was thankful when his history class was over. He was done teaching for the day and he need a break from everything. He needed to lock up his office and then he could go home and rest. Thinking that maybe he needed a small break and then everything will be better tomorrow. Suzu headed for the stairs and making his way up them. He felt someone bump into him, he glanced up. Noting that it was one of his math students, he smiled weakly "your quite alright."

"Sorry, Professor Anderson..." Thomas said, before running back to the dorm. He was getting worse, he shouldn't be having these feelings for his teacher, he just shouldn't. It was wrong. He looked ten years old than him. Why wouldn't these stupid emotions just go, they were tearing him apart. It was unbearable. Thomas had never dated anyone before, nor fallen in love. Yet there was something... It's how he still enjoyed his job even though very few people actually paid attention, he kept going long past the point where Thomas would have given up. He was beautiful. His hair was a dark brownish-red, the colour of autumn leaves blowing down the street. He was woken from his daydream by the smell of something burning. "MY TOAST!" Thomas said, throwing away the now blackened pieces of bread. He needed to get some sleep, but unfortunately, thoughts invade our dreams too.

Suzu watched the other take off, having no idea what that was about. He turned and head back the way he was going to make his way home. Suzu graded paper's for most of the hours since he needed to get it back to his students. After that he made himself some dinner, he wasn't a bad cook but sometimes he wasn't in the mood to cook so he made something simple since he was in one of those moods. After eating and doing all his dishes. He turned and headed up to his room, changing into his pajamas's he got into his bed and started to read but his mind wasn't into his reading. He thought back to the student...Thomas, who had taken off. He remember the other for being in his math class and one of his best students that he has had. He wonder what was going on with the other but then again he was a young man and they always acted different so he really couldn't say.

It had been three weeks since his encounter with Professor Anderson in the library, and Thomas's feelings had done nothing but grown for his maths teacher. He had helped his first love interest much as he could, he helped his classmates as much as he could in return for some time with them, playing games on the Dorm Xbox, so they came to class sober and awake for once. He decided he needed to tell him. He waited until after the rest of the class had left. If he didn't tell Suzu how he felt, he would go crazy. No matter how hard he tried, the feelings wouldn't go. He needed to tell him. He sat down and waited, waited to hear the inevitable rejection, delivered with the tone of disgust.

These last past three weeks had been a whirl wind for Suzu that he really couldn't understand. The way that his students where acting and coming to class wanting to learn was a whole new experience for him. He actually started to feel a lot better with the way things where going and he got more confident with his teachings that he didn't feel like he was failing, but to make sure that nothing would go wrong. He tried to do more for the students and not just have lectures. Make it a lot more fun for them all, which was turning out to be really good for him. He was had just finished up his lecture and now was putting his things away till he noted that one of his students was still in class. Looking up he noted that it was Thomas, he wonder if there was something wrong. Grabbing his stuff he made his way over to the younger male. He looked at Thomas "is everything alright?"

"Umm... I need to tell you something..." Thomas said, bright red. "Over this past few months, you have been really nice to all of us. To me. The reason for the others being awake for once is me, I help them with their maths and in return they play games with me on the computer. I did it for you, you care so much about all of us, and yet you got no thanks or appreciation from anyone. I took you for granted, and I feel shame for that. I... The reason I ran away from you on the library was because... Because I love you..." Tears began to fall down the scarlet-haired student silently. "Ever since I lost my Dad in a car crash when I was ten, I had no-one to look after me. Mum was too busy with work, and so I took care of myself. I have always been alone. But you... You showed me kindness, you cared about my problems... No one has done that when it concerned me for 9 years. I can't help my feelings, and I understand if you want me out of your class." Thomas said, closing his eyes, waiting for the stinging slap on his cheek.

Suzu listen the Thomas speak, he always tried to be nice to his students. He couldn't be mean, it just wasn't how he was at all. He was surprised to know that it was Thomas who was getting the other students to start paying more attention in his class, he was very thankful for that. He continue to listen you the young male speak, when Thomas had mention being in love with him. He really didn't know what to say to him, he leaned back on the desk so that he wouldn't fall over. He had to put his things to the side so that he wouldn't drop them because he knew that he would drop them. He never had anyone ever admit that they had fallen in love with him, he really hadn't notice anything really if any of the teacher's had fallen for him. Yet here was Thomas admitting that he had feelings for him. Suzu swallowed the lump in his throat, he looked at the younger male across from him. He didn't know what to say, he didn't hate Thomas but he hadn't ever been in lover before "I don't want you out of my class. I will admit that you have surprised me with this, I really don't know how to answer you Thomas. I'm not mad or upset with you at all."

"R-Really?" Thomas asked, surprised at the answer. He had expected hatred and disgust, not indifference. Still, this meant it was a small possibility that their relationship would blossom. Thomas refused to get his hopes up however, as that was how hearts were broken. "Thank you... For not hating me." Thomas replied as he went back to his dorm, feeling better now that his teacher knew how he felt. He knew the probabilities of a relationship between them happening was almost none, but still, at the bottom of Pandora's box, there was hope, and for now, Thomas decided to cling to that.

Suzu watched the other go, he really didn't know what he was going to do about it. He grabbed his stuff and headed for home, since he didn't have anything at the school that he needed to be for. He really didn't know what to think on this subject. He collapsed onto his chair at his home, he leaned back and closed his eyes. He just really hadn't thought about love or ever paid any attention to anyone if they might have had feelings for him. But now with Thomas coming to him on this matter. Suzu just didn't know what to do really, he wasn't mad or hated Thomas. That was much was true but he was more confused on the matter.

Thomas continued his drawing of various shapes on the paper, unable to properly focus. He laid back in the chair, for the first time in his life he didn't feel motivated to do any work. He thought about what had happened today, he couldn't stop thinking about it. Either way, it had affected his relationship with Suzu. Made it more complicated in a bad way, it would make future encounters more uncomfortable, and not just because Thomas favoured skinny jeans as his preferred leg wear, which made certain things evident and uncomfortable. He continued drawing his Tesseract, and signed it with his signature. Hopefully tomorrow this would all blow over.

Suzu closed his eyes as he sat there, trying to think about what he wanted to do. Thomas was his student, he knew that much and he respected the younger male. But did he have feelings for him was something that he couldn't just figure out and it was driving him crazy at the moment. He was a little afraid to anything since he never done anything or really knew about a relationship. Math and history where the only things he ever known in his life but now he had to worry about this because he had a feeling that it wasn't going to go away, it was here and out. He knew about Thomas feelings but how to properly respond to that was going to be the most difficult challenge. It made him wonder if Thomas might want to do something or not. He wasn't sure.

It was another lesson with Professor Anderson. For the past 2, he had been quiet, but he needed to somehow process this conversation they had, he couldn't pussyfoot around it forever. He made sure the other students would be properly awake, and he sat down for the lesson, thinking. But for once, not about maths, about what he was going to do. He formulated something that could be barely called a plan, and set it into action. He had written the note, and for once, he had a feeling that could be best compared to "butterflies in the stomach". He placed the note on Suzu's desk. It read: "Professor Anderson, can we please meet me in the library at 5PM to talk about what happened the other day. Nothing is out of bounds to ask me, I hope you will be the same with me. It's something we must discuss, it is now the elephant in the room between us. I want to try and get our relationship back to how it was, if a relationship between us is completely out of the question. I will admit that I am unable to control my feelings for you, but I can control my behaviour around you and what I did was inexcusable. Hope to see you later, Thomas Arclight." He left for lunch, hoping that something could happen between them. He didn't want to hope for a relationshop, because a no would break his heart. But maybe falling in love was worth it. Emotions were so... illogical. Thomas thought as he ate his favourite junk food, Macaroni Cheese. He did seem to be getting through an awful lot of it recently. No prizes for guessing why.

Suzu was thankful when his class was finally over, everything seemed so out of place that he couldn't seem to think correctly. Suzu moved over to his desk and stopped. He looked down at the piece of paper and read it, he set it down and looked at the plain walls ahead of him. He knew that he was going to go, though what he was going to do. He didn't have any idea at all, ever since Thomas had told him his feelings, his mind was whirling with so many thoughts that he had trouble sleeping the night before. Suzu grabbed his stuff quickly dropping it off at his office before heading off to grab lunch. He just ate some soup and bread, since at this moment his stomach was upset since he was upset that he didn't want to get sick. He got up and wander the halls for a bit, it was getting close to 5 so he knew that he need to make his way to the library which is what he did. He glanced around but didn't seem to see Thomas so he picked a spot where he could sit down and wait for the other. He looked at the books trying to think of what he could say to the young male though he also didn't know what Thomas would want to say to him.

Thomas walked into the library, holding 2 cups of hot chocolate, he sat down in front of his teacher, handing him a cup. "Sorry for calling you here like this, but we do have to talk. I didn't know what coffee you liked, so I brought us hot chocolate. I'm not sure if caffeine would be a good idea considering our discussion topic. I'll be honest, you are the first person I have ever fallen in love with. That's why I don't know how to address this situation properly...'
