Name:

Leon D.S. Geeste

Nicknames:

Brother Leon (encouraged to close friends)

Master Leon (title from his colleagues in Lacuer)

Age:

Fourteen

Gender:

Male

Sexuality:

Heterosexual

Species:

Leon identifies as a Fellpool, a type of humanoid race descended from felines. Nomadic in nature this species has made homes on several different planets and takes many forms with varying levels of development, the lesser end of this spectrum being much more feral and often violent. All that remains to hint at the young scientist's species at this point are his ears, the other defining traits absent. There is some debate as to what others may have been involved in his genealogy but due to the nature of his past the truth has long since become lost to time.

Powers:

Leon primarily fights through Symbology, the art of casting spells using intricate circles and other symbols. As such he is almost never seen without a tome appearing far too large for his tiny stature. So long as he has memorized the contents he is able to activate specific spells by memory and simply opening to any page. This power is commonly used in order to invoke aquamancy and umbramancy attacks, but has also delved into both demon summoning and necromancy in rare instances.

Fandom:

Star Ocean

Personality:

Leon is at first glance your typical egotistical prodigy. Due to the absurd amount of recognition he gained in his hometown as well as the depth of skill he has displayed for both the arcane and magitechnology he views himself as inherently above others. The best one could hope for in his opinion is that he considers you close to an equal, and opinion only earned after enduring extreme tribulation together. A scientist at his core he is naturally curious and inclined to investigate occurrences regardless of the dangers it may pose for either himself or his companions. In spite of all of his talent and knowledge however, he is still very much a child. Without anyone to validate his efforts he finds his motivation to work limited. When faced with an obstacle that he is unable to overcome he becomes flustered, often fixating upon a single individual to deal with the issue for him. He also has a habit of falling into crushes head first should he share any common ground with the female side of the cast, following them much like a lost puppy. Yet for all of his faults he is more than willing to step forward and act as a leader, whether you would like him to or not. Because of his abilities he is trying his best to take charge in a world where he's separated from the friends who had given him strength before.

Biography:

The universe which Leon comes from is that of great diversity. Humanity had developed space travel and the advent of breaking the speed of light allowed them to traverse the stars in the name of exploration and adventure. Naturally they were not the only group to do so, leading to conflict over territory, resources, and politics. For all of the progress made not every planet capable of sustaining life was at the same level of development. As such strict laws and guidelines were laid in place to prohibit the disruption of their growth by outsiders. Leon's home, Expel, was one of these.

Seemingly the one and only Fellpool on the entirety of the planet Leon was an anomaly from the very beginning. Raised by two researchers in the castle town of Lacuer he displayed an incredible aptitude for Symbology, the method of spell casting that was commonplace. While most locations were still relying on swords and staves to combat any kind of monsters that pose a threat Lacuer was rapidly progressing into the realm of technology by designing new weaponry which were enhanced through these symbols. Leon himself played no small part in this, rapidly earning recognition and acclaim from the townsfolk as well as the spite of several of his peers as he pushed his research forward. Earning the title of professor at the age of twelve he began to assist in the development of a new type of cannon alongside his parents. Affectionately nicknamed the Lacuer Hope, they placed everything on this being the key to turning the tide against the monsters that were becoming increasingly powerful as time went on. After a being caught eavesdropping, a traveler by the name of Claude Kenni was tasked with traveling alongside Leon to a dangerous location in order to obtain the final materials they required to assemble it. Irritated at the prospect of requiring escort, Leon begrudgingly agrees and they succeed with little issue.

As they placed the finishing touches the weapon is immediately transported to the front line and tested, eradicating their enemies and breaking the stalemate that had been in place. Under order to press the advantage they now held the weapon was carried by boat to an island determined to be one of their strongholds in an attempted sneak attack, but one of the more powerful demons they were combating caught wind and struck before they could make landfall. The Lacuer Hope sank to the bottom of the ocean and the passengers were either cast aside or forced to dive overboard. After very nearly drowning Claude and Leon found they've drifted onto a beach with no sign of any of the others. Finally Leon's smug demeanor began to break apart, sobbing uncontrollably at the thought of having lost his parents. While his initial attempts at trying to console him failed, he was eventually calmed down enough by Claude to agree to search nearby for survivors. Before too long they reunited with the rest of the individuals that Claude had been traveling with but there was still no sign of Leon's family, and so decided to remain with him as they pressed further into enemy territory.

What followed was an adventure which revealed that the entire source of their suffering was caused by a group of extremely powerful interlopers from another world wreaking havoc in the name a misguided thirst for revenge. Fighting in hundreds of battles Leon became stronger over time and began to learn to trust in the others he was with as they found themselves traveling across time and space. A group of thirteen by the end of their journey they defeated the mastermind behind everything they went through and went on their individual paths. With his interest piqued by the introduction to foreign technology he experienced on his journey, Leon left for Earth to continue his research and has been living there for the last year.
