Name: Xiao Dongmei
Age: 16
Appearance: A teenage girl of Earth Kingdom descent. She has jet-black hair that reaches down to her waist, which she typically wears in a ponytail. It's usually styled up for more formal occasions. Her eyes are mint-green.
Personality: She is polite and friendly to everyone she meets, within the limits and expectations of her class. She tries to be brave and selfless when she can, but can recognise when the odds are stacked against her. She also follows world events and politics, but will keep her true beliefs to herself if she feels the situation demands it.

Backstory: Xiao was born to the Governor of Qutong - a province in the western part of the Earth Kingdom - and his wife, the sister of a prosperous merchant from the same province. With a state governor for a father, and the sibling of a successful merchant for a mother, Xiao was guaranteed a rich upbringing. She lived in her family's huge estate, was educated and taught by private tutors - including a renowned earthbending master - and had numerous servants attending to her needs and comfort.
When Xiao was twelve, her merchant uncle's fortunes improved, to the point that he was able to set himself up with his own estate in Ba Sing Se, from which he ran his various. Xiao and her family would stay over there occasionally over the years, typically to attend her uncle's birthday celebrations, and in doing so would become involved with the highest echelons of Ba Sing Se society and Earth Queen Hou Ting's court.
Never did she expect to suddenly lose it all...
