Personality: Most people who've met Larisa would describe her as a little off. She is quite awkward socially, missing social cues often. Biography: Ludmil Lipin was a Russian soldier stationed at a Knightmare manufacturing plant. In fact, Ludmil was one of the engineers responsible for ensuring that the Knightmare were up to code and battle ready off the conveyor belt. In a neighboring town, Ludmil fell in love with a country girl and the two were married. Little Larisa Lipina was born not long after and Ludmil doted on his little angel.
When Britannia began their assault on the Eastern Coalition, which Russia was a part of, Ludmil was reassigned and left his wife and daughter behind. He was hopeful that he'd see them again, but doubted he'd survive the brutal assault. Larisa became a young girl that always seemed to be tinkering with things. She took a toaster a part by her 9th birthday and the dishwasher wasn't far behind, but she always managed to put it all back together correctly. She began doing odd jobs for people in the little town, repairing appliances and farming equipment.
When Russia lost to Britannia, the plant had been destroyed by the invading armies. Besides this, the war didn't really affect the small farming village that Larisa had grown up in. The news of what happened to Moscow arrived in the village, but otherwise, the small town carried on as it always had. Eventually, a beleaguered Ludmil returned to the small village. He'd been gone for almost three years, hiding in the smallest holes in order to protect his family from any Britannian people that'd been following him. He began going by his middle name, Yulian, and he begged everyone to call him by that name. He found out about Larisa's knack for machinery and couldn't help but feed her intellectual appetite. In secret, the father began teaching his daughter all about the Knightmare with which he used to work on. They used illustrations, due to the lack of real world parts to utilize, in order to help Larisa's understanding. She loved learning about the machines, seemingly not caring that they were designed to destroy human life. She loved learning of the float systems and various weaponry and how they functioned.
Unfortunately, the beaten down country led to a lot of looters and bandits. This lawlessness caused businesses to close down or move to different areas, which lead to a surplus of food in the small farming village. They didn't have the transporters or buyers to sell their food so they sat on it, which only brought the hungry bandits to their doorstep. They arrived with firearms and terrorized the town, leaving it in tatters. Even Ludmil, who'd tried to convince them to take the food and leave, had been shot and mortally wounded.
Larisa was saddened that her teacher had been lost and now, with nothing to stick around for, she's set off on an adventure of her own. She plans to fulfill the promise that she made to herself to one day she see a real life Knightmare.
