" We are humans not lab rats... "
Nekos, the classic cute little people with the fluffy ears and tails that everyone loves. The first neko came around a century, there life spans are known to be short, and they posses both human and animal traits. How did this happen? Science. Labritorys experimenting on a poor human. Sence they have been born nekos were never viewed as humans, but as lab experiments. But they were pampered by many, often bought by rich familys when there life was near an end and loved as one of there own. That was intel one neko tried to change that, they escaped, they made it out, but then they went on a rampage. This paticular neko possesed both human and lion traits and was hungry for meat. They killed a man that had found them huddled in an ally way near the labritory. After this the selling of nekos has been outlawed and many are held under lock and key like prisoners. The experimenting hasnt stopped, no, if any thing they've gotten worse, and many have died locked in steal cages. Alone.
Lab Rats is a story set in one of these many labritorys that keeps nekos under lock and key. Due to regulations the nekos are seperated into three different sections; males, females, and mating. Males and females are pretty simple sections, each cage contains a neko of the specified gender. Many of the male and female rooms have cages stacked five high and are packed to the brim. The mating section is a little more complicated. For one there are very few nekos here, maybe ten or twelve at a time. The scientists pick out two nekos, a male and a female, that are close to the end of there life span - normaly ones with the same animal geans unless for an experiment - and put them together in the same sized cages as the males and females have, which are barely small enough to hold one neko, and force them to mate. They give the nekos a month to choose to do so on there own but if not some labs like this one will forcefully make them. When the mating is done and the new neko arrives the male and female are seperated to live what little life they have left back in the male and female sections. At the back of the Lab Rats labritory is a small fanced in yard for the nekos regualted 'work out time' as again required by regulations. Work out time is limited to thirty minutes a day and is open for all quadrients at the same time. Feeding time is three times a day and highly regulated. The nekos with meat only diets are fed first each time, then the plant eaters and human food eaters, fallowed by the mixed food eaters who get the left overs from the rest.
