School: Aomori

Position: (will discuss further with the mods before approval) @AiAi

Skills: (to be approved by GM...)

Shun has extensive experience in parkour, and is very agile and flexible. Most of his skills will be based on this. These are the two that would come to his mind when he starts playing basketball. He hasn't thought about giving them names yet, but he's open to suggestions. Generally he relies on moving quick and be fast to respond. To conserve his stamina, he only chooses to spike up the speed in small increments of time.

  1. When most players are dribbling the ball, the ball is most easily stolen when it reaches the highest point. However, by keeping his movements low to ground, he can move close towards the person he marks by increasing his speed suddenly. When the ball is very close to the floor's surface, he can catch it. Generally he would either tap it towards the direction of another player, or he will continue to dribble the ball away. This skill requires him to bend his knees quite low, and to move quickly this will expend much more energy than running normally. It is generally best used in the first two quarters of the game. With his current stamina, he cannot use it more than 7 times in one quarter, otherwise it may be straining for him to focus in the game with his low stamina. To stop him from having the ball stolen in this way, one needs to be watchful of when his speed spikes up, and change the direction of where the ball is moving immediately. Please also be aware that you need to be quick to match his speed.
  2. He is able to jump fairly high for his height. When in the air, his body is able to move and react fast compared to most players, and is able to use this to pass the ball across greater distances. The problem is that it is hard for him to defend against tall players. He is able to shoot, but there is only a limited range, and his accuracy in shooting is lower. (He can't shoot the ball in a curved up trajectory, but he can shoot it in a straight line towards another player on the field). Please note that aerial movements are always going to be slower than movements on the ground, but in Shun's case the difference is smaller than most players.

Rivals: (depends on the position?)

Crush: (to be um… established?)

Friends: (to be established)

Background:

Despite being the younger brother of the set of twins, Shun isn't very used to living in the same home as his elder sister. From a young age, when their parents had divorced, the two twins had been living separately, since it was a rather financial burden for either parent to take care of both. His mother often had to move to different places over the regions of Japan for work, and needed Shun to follow on. Being a boy who knew when to not be immature at the right time, Shun didn't say anything though he wasn't liking the fact that he would be far from his twin sister for too long.

Shun didn't stay moping forever though. While the twins were apart, they often called and spoke with each other, encouraged by their parents. Whenever they transferred to a new school, he found it wasn't too hard to make friends. As long as he was willing to be someone approachable and be friendly, it would work out. Though at the back of his mind, he always reminded himself that these friendships wouldn't really last until they moved away.

It wasn't until recently that his mother had thought up to ask him whether he wanted to move with his sister. Since they were old enough, the two of them should be old enough to manage. Hearing that it was a suggestion made by his sister, Shun didn't need any more persuasion.

They didn't really get a choice in which school they would transfer in, but Shun was glad the school was fairly close, and it seems like he'll be able to stay there for the rest of high school. Seeing that there was no parkour club to join, he decided to try out a few different sports clubs. He decided that he would want to join something which required teamwork and decided on basketball.

Likes: cute/cool things, being unconventional, hanging out with friends, winning

Kuramoto Akira

Name: Kuramoto Akira

Nickname: Aki

Gender: female

Height: 158cm

Weight: 54kg

Body Build: healthy thin build?

Eye colour: brown

Hair Colour: brown

Skin tone: pale.

Appearance:

School: Aomori

Position: n/a (I'll ask the GM, otherwise will just use her as a character for Shun's development)

Skills: (not very relevant for this RP I guess)

Akira also has experience in parkour and has practised alongside with Shun in the past. If she is ever going to be playing basketball (or street basketball), it's likely she might use the skills that were developed by her younger brother.

Rivals: N/A.

Crush: (to be established)

Friends: (to be established) Hoping to become good/best friends with Ai (@AiAi)

Background:

From when she was born, Akira had it drilled in her mind to be a good elder sister. In their early years of primary school, she and Shun had their own circles of friends but she always made sure to keep a careful eye on him, just as he did for her. The two had often tried new hobbies together, with parkour being the lasting one.

When her parents had divorced, she stayed with her father, aunt and uncle. Like Shun, she didn't say anything, knowing very well that she would never really understand the relationship  between her parents on an emotional level. During the time that Shun was transferring to different cities, Akira stayed in the same city for her education. As her younger brother would have liked to say in a teasing way, she hasn't met as much people and is a little 'green around the ears'.

She continued to keep in contact with her younger brother through phone calls and messages, and perhaps it was because they were twins that they didn't seem to have drifted away. Her father was quite aware of this. Knowing very well that she also might be a bit too dependent on home at times, he suggested to her that perhaps she and a friend could live close to Aomori, since the school was a fair distance away. Little did he know that she had asked whether Shun could transfer with her.

Since she has gotten to experience less than her brother, she felt that she wants to make use of her afternoons instead of committing to one club. She's decided to join the 'go home early' club.

Likes: cute/cool things, sweets, being unconventional, winning

Dislikes: people breaking promises, being abandoned or ditched, losing, being underestimated

Fears: being alone in the dark street

Hobbies: playing pranks, parkour, photography, video games

Habits: she likes to chew on straws. When thinking, she might flick pens in her hand if she's sitting down.

Personality:

At a glance, the twins are rather outgoing high-school teenagers. They like to spend time with each other, but would also have little trouble in separating and mingling with different groups of people. Shun can seem rather 'girlish' to most boys. He is rather particular about keeping things neat and clean, and isn't shy about his love for cute things. Because of this, he doesn't find much trouble with talking to most girls, having known somewhat about what girls do and don't like from his mother and sister. Similarly, on the other hand, Akira is rather tomboyish. It can be a surprise at times, given how her appearance is based on the image of what she defines as a 'friendly, cheerful' girl. Akira is just as practical as her brother, and likes things to be efficient. Both twins at times can be somewhat mischievous, and one more than the other. It changes though on a daily basis. Though when there is a time needed to be, they would show themselves to be mature. When there is something important, they know to stay resilient and firm in what they believe in.

Shun and Akira live by the motto of "You can be anything you want, but you can't be them all at once." To some extent, they can change the way they handle their speech and actions at times, as though to tailor a particular type of personality. It must be within the range of their experiences though, and thus Shun is always able to handle a persona more mature than Akira given how he is the more experienced of the two. Despite that they seem rather hyper and talkative most of the time, they rarely like to openly give away too much about themselves and are less emotional than most people. Because of this, they've learnt of how to act by watching other people. (I won't have them changing their personalities 180 degrees, or like having multiple-personality disorders). That said, if you do ask them they aren't too shy since they don't have much secrets. The only thing they might be a bit hesitant is that they're bisexual since some have misunderstood about them from that.

Despite that they can change and swap personalities, their very core values remain consistent. They aren't easy to anger, save for a few triggers. Both twins care for their friends, and family, particularly their parents. They want the best for each other, but they are also respective of each other's choices. Both love winning, as it gives them the sense of superiority or power. In general, they don't like being underestimated. Particularly Akira, who finds satistification in being in control.

Sounds good to me. We can discuss Shun's position later. :)

Thank you. I'll have a read of the last few pages when I get the chance.

I'll jump into the IC thread once the CS is accepted.

Oh please feel free and just jump into the IC, you're pretty much accepted once you are allowed to join the rp group. We can always discuss and change your Character's position later on :)

@AiAi

Added in personality to the end of the cs for Shun and Akira as we discussed.

Let me know if there are any concerns or suggestions.
