Backstory
Kings:
Humans imbued with intense magic. King's reign over an aspect of the natural world, allowing them to have full control over it. For example, the King of ice has full control over ice. The King of mercury has full control over mercury. So on and so forth. Kings also never age. They cannot die from natural causes, meaning death will only come if they are killed by another. The oldest Kings often live to be a thousand years old. A King surviving for that long is rare though.
Servants:
Humans or spirits that are given power by the Kings in exchange for their servitude. A servant is beholden to their King, lest they lose the power they were granted.
Daemons and Spirits:
Spirits are beings who have yet to cross the river to the afterlife. They remain on earth for one reason or the next. They are not malicious by nature but are still not to be trifled with. A spirit is able to possess an object or animal, using it as a conduit to take physical form. Spirits can also become servants.
Daemons are spirits who lost all sense of reason and hunger for souls of the living. They do not need to possess an object to take physical form.
