personality : angela is that girl who almost seems too good to be true. she views the world in a bright, positive sort of way and is a little ray of sunshine, a rose amongst weeds. known for being helpful, angela is the sort of person who will send you pictures of her homework to copy without being asked, and will offer to clear up your house for you just because she enjoys it, although this attitude is easy to abuse. thoughtful, she is the friend who will show up at your house with a dozen types of medicine and a big flask of soup if you miss a day of school, and who spends hours carefully selecting gifts and making her own greetings cards when christmas rolls around. she has a creative, quick mind and can formulate swift solutions to problems with ease; you'll know when she's thinking of something when she pushes up her sleeves. she seems a little air-headed and most people naturally assume that she's sort of dumb despite the fact that she's fairly intelligent and actually wise beyond her years. of course her wisdom only stretches so far; she seems to be able to advise others but when it comes to her own problems, she's stuck. she has a tendency to worry herself into a real state over very small things and needs a good hug to calm her down. as previously mentioned, her eagerness to help out is easily exploited and her naivety only adds to how simple it is to manipulate her. she may be a sweetheart, but unfortunately that doesn't stop some people from taking advantage of her. angela just wants to feel properly needed and secure.


bio: chase and ruby met during highschool and were sweethearts from the very beginning. he was on the football team and she was a cheerleader; everyone thought that they were a match made in heaven. they left school and got engaged. he went off to college and she stuck around waiting for him, doing very little but patiently earning money through cleaning jobs here and there. when he finally came back with his qualifications and a new job as a doctor, he made ruby little more than his trophy wife. a picture perfect couple to some, but chase was always manipulative-- he even discouraged ruby from taking a course in law to become a lawyer, he didn't want her success to undermine his. chase wanted to be the provider, to be in control of their finances and in control of ruby.


they had angela less than a year after their honeymoon. she was a week or so premature but a lovely baby, with tufts of dark hair and deep brown eyes like bambi. she was their little angel and they named her accordingly. chase appeared to mellow for a few years while angela was still young but grew over protective over both her and her mother as the years went by; he insisted on driving them to and from everywhere they went, judged their clothing, controlled what they ate. it got so bad that the tears angela shed at his funeral when she was thirteen were more for the benefit of her family rather than actual grief.


everything was all set for angela to have a brilliant high school experience. she was wealthy and pretty enough to be accepted into the popular crowd, she even made the cheersquad and became their flyer. it was like a dream for her, and even if she didn't enjoy the rough parties full of alcohol and questionable conversations, she liked to feel like she was a part of something. of course it all came crashing down when she tearfully phoned a few of the girls to tell them that her test was positive.


angela couldn't even remember sleeping with him, but apparently she had and she was stuck with the consequences. she lost her friends, her support, her security, and even her position in the cheer squad. they told her that they just couldn't have a pregnant girl on the team, that she would wreck their image. she had never heard so many hateful words, she felt as though 'slut' would be permanently tattooed across her forehead forever. she took some time off school to 'deal' with her issue, a few months, and when she came back she was different. clearly she had not had the baby. her hair was dyed, her clothes had changed, she was much more subdued. luckily for her she found some new friends to take her in, the sort who she hopes won't abandon her. she thinks that perhaps if she's just nice to everybody (as she knows how it feels to be an outcast) then maybe the rest of her time at school will go by relatively easily.
