Background: Born as a half-breed in Khargrand, Kenyon had a rather tough childhood. The issue was not his parents, however. He had a loving father and mother. His Khargran father the head guard in their chiefdom; his mother was an anthropologist who had traveled to Khargrand lands to study their culture. In fact, she had studied their culture so well that she practically became a member. However, some of the more traditional Khargrans disagreed, so, when she had a half-breed child, they hated his very being. Some of their children felt the same way, so he was often picked on. While he's quite strong by human standards, he's quite weak for a Khargran, so picking on him wasn't hard. When he was a teenager, his talent for magic was discovered, and he traveled to Keona to find a teacher. He eventually found a very reserved magic user who was willing to teach him if he "learned self-control". At the time, he'd wanted nothing more then to be able to transform into a full-blooded Khargran. This was reflected in his magic as he eventually learned how to change himself into a wolf. After training for a few years, Kenyon had a falling out with his teacher; he refused to join his teacher's house. Kenyon then began doing mercenary work to get by, and he found he had a talent for it. He's been working as a mercenary ever since, and he's made a name for himself on a local level. In his recent years of work, he's realized that his wolf form isn't useful in many situations, so he's now working on transforming into other forms.

Occupation: Mercenary

Personality: He's generally a very serious person, and often times comes off as callous and/ or emotionless, but this is his form of discipline. It helps keeps his more primal side in check. However, he's become so adept at it that he often has problems expressing his emotions.

Skills/Talents: Due to being initially raised in Khargrand and his Khargran blood itself, Kenyon is a quite a skilled hand-to-hand combatant. His training and exceptional physical capabilities allow him to take down the average person with ease. However, he stands little to no chance fighting a full blooded Khagran in a test a pure physical capability. His mercenary work has familiarized him with a range of weapons, but he's not particularly skilled with any of them. Kenyon's specialty is organic transformation magic. Currently, he can heal minor wounds and take on the form of a large wolf. The full body transformation is quite draining though, so he rarely uses it.

Writing Sample:

A boy ran on a dirt path through a snow covered forest. At first glance, he appeared to be an ordinary child with a mess of long black hair wearing pants and shirt stitched together from various furs. However, upon closer inspection, one could see the two fur covered ears that raised from his head, and a black furred tail with a white tip that poked out from his pants. The boy had an excited look in his eye, and a smile spread across his face. Who wouldn't be? Today was the day he’d finally get to show everyone what he's got! It was exam day.

He rounded a bend in the path and his smile faded. He slowed to a walk. It was as if dark clouds had suddenly covered his sunny day. In front of him stood three Khargran boys. Ones fur was a reddish brown. Another was grey. The last was black and white; he reminded the boy of a reverse panda. The reverse panda sniffed the air.  “You smell that?” He covered his nose with a look of disgust on his face.  The brown one nodded. “Ugh, yeah I do.” He said. The grey Khargran sniffed the air. “Ugh, I know what that smell is...it’s the smell of loser.” He said mockingly. They all laughed and passed around high fives.

“How many times did you guys rehearse that?” The boy said with an unimpressed expression The brown one growled, but the grey one held out an arm. “You seem awfully excited today, Halfy.” He observed. Halfy was their nickname for him. The boy nodded. “Aren't you? Exams are today. We should probably get going before we're late.” He tried to walk by, but the grey Khargran grabbed his arm.

“I know, but why are you excited? It’s a fighting test.” The brown one pointed out. The boy looked down. “Well...I...uh...I’ve been doing some extra training.” The boy’s voice had lost some of its confidence. The grey Khargran’s grip on his arm tightened. “No matter what you do, you will always be weak.” He said in a slow, deliberate manner. “L-let go!” The boy stuttered; he tried to pull free to no avail. The other boys laughed. “What? Are you going go home and cry to that human wh-” The grey one’s words were cut off as a fist slammed into his face. He stumbled back. Hairs standing on end and baring his teeth, the boy let out a surprisingly deep and bestial growl. The others took a step back.

The grey Khargran quickly recovered, and he sent a punch right back into the boy’s face. The blow knocked the boy off his feet and onto the ground. The grey one wiped his face; his pride was more wounded then his face. “Hold him down.” he growled. The other two Khargrans nodded. They seemed to regain their confidence, and each of them held one of the boy’s arms down. The boy realized the futility of his struggle, but that did not stop him. The grey one straddled him.“I’ll make sure you never forget how weak you are!” He threatened as he lowered his clawed hand towards the boy's face. The boy’s eyes widen in terror as he realized what was going to happen. He wanted to scream, but no words would come out. He closed his eyes. The snow around him was soon stained red.
