Joy Ride

tumblr_m62l6e0D2V1r4uyleo3_250.gif

Camilla was a perfect good girl. Always doing the right thing. Never failing a test. Came home after school everyday and would never stay out past curfew. Camilla always hung out with the good crowd. Full of nice jocks and youth group teens from her church.

The blonde walked down the halls with her book bag hanging from her shoulder. It was just time to leave school for the day. Strict orders for her was to go right home. Camilla hated all the rules she had to follow. But she just couldn't change like that on her parents. She'd never be a interesting, exciting person with a big future for her. Living in a small town didn't help that either. 99% chance she'd still be living her being a stay at home mother while her husband is some Pastor.

Camilla rolled her eyes at her thoughts as she made her was to the bus.

But she did hear a loud noise, sounding like the start up of a motorcycle. Camilla would love to go on one of those. But her parents would literally kill her.

Camilla just zoned out, staring at the bike. She'd literally kill to ride on that thing. Her eyes looked the driver up and down. Camilla couldn't make out who was driving the motorcycle due to the heavy helmet on the mans head.

Tilting her head she continued to stare at the rider and the motorcycle.

Just as Samuel slid his helmet over his head, he saw something in the corner of his eye. Not a something, he thought, but a someone. A girl in his class that he had seen a few times but never actually interacted with, even if they’d been going to the same school since they were little. It wasn’t that he had anything against the girl─from where he stood, she seemed nice and kind and all that─but had more to do with the fact they lived in completely separate and different worlds. For one thing, she lived uptown where everyone had a minimum of two cars and probably a patch of green grass, while he lived downtown where doors were always locked and kids couldn’t play outside without their parents watching nearby. And for another, they hung out with polar opposite crowds; she probably gravitated towards church kids and Student Council members while he flew with… well, he already knew what kind of crowd he hung out with.

But catching her staring somewhat longingly at his motorcycle and what it stood for, freedom, he smiled amusedly even if she couldn’t see it. And then after a few more seconds passed of her still staring, he felt pity for the girl and waved her over. He figured it was the least he could do for a girl he had practically grown up with in the same town but never had gotten to know. And besides, it was about time Sam gave someone a little taste of his world. Show them what freedom and youth were all about.

He could see it in her eyes that she so desperately wanted to go, but also hesitated. Her eyes were clouded over with internal conflict as she tilted that pretty head of hers towards him. When it became clear she either hadn’t seen the wave or mistakenly thought it was for someone other than her, he called out to her with a laugh, “You comin’ or what, Green Eyes? I can’t wait forever.”

Suddenly she heard a voice, "You com in' or what, Green Eyes? I can't wait forever." The voice was husky and smooth. It seemed as if it could be a voice from one of those bad boy movies every girl could fall for. As where Camilla did like the voice, she had no idea who was behind the helmet.

Know what? lets just do it... With that Camilla carefully walked over to the man.

With a smile Camilla hopped on the bike, thinking she knew what she was doing. But sadly, almost fell onto the hard pavement. Thankfully she clang onto the mans waist for dear life. "Holy..." She mumbled as she continue to cling onto the man.
Did I really think this was a good idea? Camilla was now officially pissed off at herself. If her parents saw this. Camilla would be bound to her bedroom for the rest of her life.

Camilla's bright green eyes scanned the parking lot. A bunch of her church friends just stared at her in shock. Probably planning on telling her parents. But hopefully they wouldn't... Hopefully.

Camilla spoke over the loud noise of the motorcycle, "Camilla." the blonde said, trying to introduce herself. She was still in complete shock with herself that thats all she could really say at the moment.

The boy seemed to be so opposite from her already. I'm sure he knew that. But why would he let her on his bike? This was such an odd situation for Camilla to be in. But know what, Camilla is just gonna do it. Who knows what could happen. It could be a complete new world for her to discover. She just has to find out.

The girl’s arms around him were warm. The way she clung onto him tightly made him shake with laughter, crinkling the skin around his blue eyes with amusement as memories of his own first ride came flooding back. It’d been clear skies and all breeze like it was today when Samuel had hoped onto the bike for the first time. The guy selling him the bike was spurting out facts about the model and safety precautions, but Sam had been sold the very moment he laid eyes on the machine. Because for him, bikes had always been about escape. And what better way to escape at speed and in style? To say the least, he’d bought the motorcycle that day and never looked back.

Her voice had been so muffled and drowned out in the rush of wind that Sam hadn’t been sure he’d heard her right. Was that her name or a place she wanted to go? It hadn’t helped that he had his helmet on eith─

Shit!

Nearly pulling to a complete stop on the side of the road, Samuel swore softly under his breath. Turning around to face the girl, Sam slowly pulled off his helmet before he wordlessly gently placed the helmet over her head full of blonde curls, smiling apologetically. And then, pretending nothing had happened just seconds before, he introduced himself. “Your name is Camilla, right? Not sure if I heard right,” he admitted with a wince. “I’m Samuel, by the way. You can just call me Sam though,” he paused. “I would shake your hand and all that, but I’m pretty sure my arm doesn’t bend that way,” he ended awkwardly, laughing as his eyes shone with amusement for the second time that day.

And then, without another word or explanation, they were back on the road again, the wind blowing through his hair instead of Camilla’s.

(Her eyes are blue... All this fucking time... "huehuehuehue")

Camilla rolled her eyes at the man. She heard the muffled sounds of laughter. What else did he expect of Camilla, to take her arms away from his waist and literally fly away?

Once he started to drive Camilla's hair was blowing in the wind. She wanted to scream. The feeling was so different from how she ever usually felt. It was intimidating, thrilling, adrenaline rushing peace. Oddly, it was peaceful. It was a nice sense of freedom.

Closing her eyes, she rested her head on the mans back. She took everything in peacefully and gracef

ully. It was an amazing feeling. She never wanted it to end.

But all of a sudden the man came to a rough stop. Camilla opened her eyes and stopped resting her head on his back. She her eyes quickly scanned the mans features. Definitely a guy from her school. Camilla has seen him with the "bad kids" around town and school a few times.

Camilla nodded, "Yup, the name is Camilla..." She smiled at the man and gave a petite wave, "Nice to meet ya..." With that the helmet was placed on Camilla and he continued to ride.

Where was he taking her? Camilla wondered. Hopefully it wasn't to her death... He doesn't seem like that kind of person.

She stayed quiet for the rest of the ride, waiting for the destination.

(Sorry if it wasn't the best reply xc)

Her icy blue eyes darted back and forth as she studied him, silent for a long moment before smiling and giving a small wave, confirming that her name was, indeed, Camilla. Camilla, he repeated in his head. He liked the name. It almost seemed unfitting for a girl like her though. Camilla to him sounded like a girl who liked getting in trouble every now and then. A girl who enjoyed mind games, and more importantly mind games with boys not at all like him. But in the small wave and the small smile, Samuel didn’t need any further confirmation that Camilla was not at all like the Camilla he had in mind. And maybe that wasn’t so bad, he thought. Maybe it was a good thing. So, with a lopsided smile, they set back out on the road. She didn’t ask where he was taking her, but he could sense by the way she tensed that she was probably growing worried, maybe even scared. It made his smile widen all the more.

It wasn’t long before it became obvious where Samuel was taking her. The one and only lake within a hundred miles of their small town. It wasn’t as if it were some long lost secret lake with almost breathtakingly magical scenery. Sure, it was pretty. And sure it attracted a small amount of campers and hunters every summer, but most of the kids their age had gone to the lake so many times that they usually steered clear from it and searched for places better and farther away from the town. Not Sam. Even as a kid, he loved going to the lake for a multitude of things, usually to think or hang out with friends. Now he only came to be alone in his thoughts, a time so scarce that it was nearly sacred. And now, he was finally letting someone in on the sacred time. His other friends wouldn’t appreciate or understand it, so he reasoned that someone like Camilla, the complete opposite of a person he normally hung around, would. He just hoped he was right or she’d probably think he was lame for taking her here.

Once they pulled into the small parking lot by the famous Clifton Cliffs (the name was more of a joke for the townies; the guy who’d found the cliff was named Clifton), Sam unmounted off the bike, tucked the keys inside his pocket, and casted a smile at her. The actual cliffs were barely that; only about fifteen feet above the actual lake, and, even though it’d been long since banned by the local authority, kids went cliff diving into the lake during hot summers. And while it wasn’t summer quite yet, Samuel figured it would be warm enough.

Wordlessly, Samuel began unlacing his boots and peeling away his socks, grinning as he slipped off his shirt, and ran to the edge of the cliff and jumped. It wasn’t much of a thrill for a guy like him─ditching detention and swiping answer keys to tests was where he found adrenaline─but he knew for a girl like her, it’d be more than thrilling. Maybe even daring. And what better way to show her the world of adrenaline and adventure than to start with the basics? She’d probably never gone to the edge of the cliff like he had so many times. Never jumped and felt that weightless feeling sink in the pit of her stomach like he’d done thousands of times. Now hovering in the lake water, soaking wet and grinning, he looked up and called out to her laughing, “The water feels just fine down here!”
