Appearance: John is rather tall for his age, standing at just under six feet tall. He doesn't have much in the way of bulky muscle, and wears loose fitting clothing to hide the lean physique he has. He cares little for his overall appearance, and usually dresses in either t-shirts or sometimes button up shirts with a tie that is never tightened properly. He's almost always seen wearing a hoodie over whatever he decides to wear that day, and always wears jeans regardless of the weather. His hair, a sandy blonde, is usually unkempt and hangs in his bright green eyes, which always hold a look of boredom in them. Aside from his eyes, another eye-catching feature are the two scars on his face, a light one across the bridge of his nose, and a much more pronounced one on his chin.
Personality: John is antisocial at best, always having a look of disdain on his face for some reason or another. He tends to respond to situations with a sarcastic manner and sharp wit, and seems to care little for the concerns of others. There are very few times that he'll actually open up to someone and show them his happier, more friendly side. He doesn't make friends easily, and though it bothers him deeply he doesn't let anyone see how lonely he actually is. For him, those sides are a weakness that he can't afford to show to others. In reality he's a rather sensitive person, and is always quick to defend and protect those he calls friend.
Background: Hailing from Manchester, U.K., John has been imbued with the British sense of sarcasm from a young age. He attended school there as the war was going on, being fed a myriad of half-truths about dragons thanks to the BBC and his own parents. His parents worked for the British government, directly dealing with the aftermath of dragon attacks, and thus he got to see first hand exactly the kind of damage the creatures could do. He didn't really harbor any ill will towards them, since they didn't impact his life directly, but he's developed a distaste for them over time. Of course, once the war ended his parents were put under the spotlight, and they quickly changed their careers to human/dragon relations. To save face with the local citizens, they threw John under the bus and announced they were sending him to Truslow Academy, to further strengthen the bond between human and dragon. He hated the idea, of course, but that didn't stop his parents from packing his stuff and throwing him on the first plane out of England.
