What is a Stand?

Stands are psychic embodiments of an individual’s fighting spirit. These entities exist in the intangible world as expressions of a living being's soul. Stands are connected to their users by an unbreakable bond. This bond allows stand users to manifest their stand on command in the tangible world. In the tangible world, stands are more susceptible to attacks. This is dangerous for the user, as all known attacks made on a stand translate to the user, and vice versa. When a stand is obliterated, its user dies, and vice versa.

Stands have shown their own personality and independent actions, though due to their symbiotic nature, they have a vested interest in protecting their user in the tangible world. Every stand is unique in form, appearance and ability, though stands of people with similar souls may have similar qualities. It has been proven that, for reasons unknown, Stand users are pulled towards one another. This has fostered a lively community that the Speedwagon Foundation is proud to support in cooperation with its mission to protect and serve humanity.

There is at least one token of the Pillar that can “release” Stands dormant within a being. However, its use has killed more humans than created viable Stand users.The Speedwagon Foundation classifies this object as “mankind's bane - highly dangerous to humanity, contain or destroy on sight” and has a BOLO order on the artifact for all field agents and enlisted.

Corrupted stands that act like parasitic beings and either kill/consume their host or fuse with it to become a new kind of Horror are uncommon but not unheard of and may also be produced by the artifact. What is your Stand's name? Pop culture references are gold. The series uses a lot of 70’s, 80’s and 90’s references - and not just American music artists. Mythology/occult is cool too, especially if you smash it with pop culture. As much as Car Salesman is a funny Stand name, try to stay away from memes for names.

What does your Stand look like? Stands in the series look like the animated epitome of What The Fuck? Keep the weird tradition going.

How did you acquire your stand? Descendants of Stand users can be born with Stands or naturally manifest them at a young age. Sometimes this happens to those who don't have a particular stand bloodline. If you've been shot with the Arrow from the Bow and Arrow, then you would not have been shot with it a second time. At least, not yet...

Is your Stand remote-controlled like an RC car, tethered or attached at the hip? The maximum operational distance of a mid-range, long-range or remote controlled Stand is helpful! Automated stands are possible, but the target must be positively identified before the stand will attack. Automated stand users never have 100% control over their stands.
