Name: Ishnai Khorus

Ancestor: Vis

Age: 22

Gender: Female

Race: Beastperson (Feline)

Height: 5’ 11”

Weight: 134 pounds

Hair: Black

Eyes: Yellow

Build: Ectomorphic

Complexion: Leopard-like fur

Distinguishing Features: Tail, ears, fur, slim build

Dragon Form Description: Light brown with Jade green accents on the face, neck, underbelly, and on the feet. Form is Wyvern-sized; not massive, but large enough for 1-2 average-sized humanoid beings or forms of that vein to ride upon. The eyes are a deep green, and earthen-looking spines run evenly all the way down her spine and tail.

Personality: Ishnai is a woman deeply seated in the beliefs and morals of her people, holding a code of honor that encompasses every aspect of life. She is polite to all she meets (unless they decide to take a jab at her race, the way she carries herself, or anything else she prides herself in, as she can honestly be quite arrogant and stubborn.) She is bold and upfront with her thoughts and feelings, to a fault, but also very keen to listen and understand what others need, especially if working with a group. Comraderie and the safety of all are very important concepts to her. She has a bit of an obsession with protecting those she sees as frail or liable to get themselves in trouble. Despite all of this, she also tends to keep a bit of distance from everyone, unless herr heart seems to tell her not to. Above all, her culture values listening to one’s heat over their mind, so impulsivity runs rampant through her. She is always on guard, and it takes quite a bit to get her to relax even a little.

History: Ishnai was born among a nomadic, desert-dwelling tribe of cats. At the time of her birth, everything from famine through humans all the way to every predator in the wilds seemed to be working to exterminate her kind. It was working, more or less, the numbers dwindling day by day until there were less than fifty, when there were originally several hundred in her colony just several months ago. Among the casualties were her mother, just a few short months after giving birth to her. Her father raised her alone, struggling day to day to meet all of her needs while also juggling the many responsibilities of the village Shaman in this time of great need for his people.

When she came of age to work, around 13 years old in their tribe, her father rarely let her play an mingle with the others as he taught her and put her to work as a shamanic assistant. He was often cold to her out of stress and too busy to talk, but showed his love enough through actions that she did not turn out hating him for it. In fact, after a while, she even began to appreciate the art of being an apothecary.

However, there came a point where attacks on the village were occurring near-daily and they needed every able body to help defend the village. When a very good friend of hers that had great potential to become her mate upon the age of 21 when mated pairs were chosen was killed, Ishnai had her kindly old man’s blessing to train and fight, however reluctant she was. She trained and fought diligently, keeping what was left of the village safe and earning quite the reputation as a fierce protector, her trusty spear in hand. However, on her 21st birthday, another path presented itself in the form of a letter and some very odd changes occurring in her body. She felt like a different being, and only this letter from “a long lost relative” held the answer. Always looking out for her, her old man decided to let her go. She’d never have left them behind before, but something called her to the stronghold the letter spoke of. Many men wanted her to stay and have her hand, but she'd chosen to be a full-time guard, who do not marry as pregnancy would keep them from doing thier crucial job for long periods of time. So, there was nothing holding her back.

Thoughts on dragons: She believes, like most of her people do, that they are sacred beings, but that they died out long ago. She’d always wanted to meet one as a young girl, and like most of her kind, worships Vis as a god. Little did she know, there had been a very good reason all these years for her devotion and fascination.
