What was supposed to be a beautiful meteor shower turned into a disaster when the east coast is hammered by 5 meteors.

Five meteors slam into the eastern coast of the United States. The damage is catastrophic, New York, Miami, New Jersey, Boston, and Washington D.C are utterly destroyed. Casualties are estimated to reach 20 million. Military floods into the craters to find each impact had a single survivor. Each survivor was taken into testing and each manifested a powerful set of abilities from the detonation. These Survivors have been gathered by the U.S military, and are currently under observation at the fabled Area 51. Doctors and soldiers are instructed to accommodate them in every way possible so long as they do not leave the facility. Visitation rights are allowed by any surviving family members including significant others, so long as they sign a confidentiality contract and direct contact is not allowed.
Further studies needed to determine if subjects are safe for usage outside of the facility.
(So the general basis here is that there will be Five survivors one from each of the destroyed cities. The others are scientists soldiers, family/significant others of the of the effected. This isn't the typical "cruel scientists And Thugs. This is Area fifty one, the scientists have dedicated their lives to science, and the soldiers are picked exclusively for an excellent history in their career. Only the Survivors have super powers, soldiers have combat experience rivaling any scientist, yet scientists have the highest authority in the facility with the exception of the general who oversees the facility. All of the above mentioned positions aren't open to any who wish to make a charecter however note that any of the major positions such as survivors or the general will need more active players.
