Shade was not happy. Like so many he'd initially disregarded the Virus Extermination Act. They'd thus far been unsuccessful in dealing with the top ranked Viruses, so why should this be any different? Well, that was before nine of the top 25 dropped like flies. Whoever was hunting them down knew what they were doing. Even he, who was known for being particularly slippery, no longer felt safe. That was the only reason he'd accepted the invitation from Destiny Weaver. Her, being a cartel boss, and him a top tier thief had run into each other before, but he didn't remember anything remarkable from it. Still, it looked as though other high ranking viruses would be there as well. The top five, at the very least. He'd worked with Epsilon on multiple occasions as both Shade and Nick, but had never met Viper or Angel. Truth be told, he was a bit anxious about meeting them. It wouldn't surprise him if either had accepted a target on himself. That was assuming this whole thing wasn't a trap.
When his underling from the Shadow League brought him the letter, he was certainly skeptical. Even though he'd been assured it had been delivered using the most secure rout in the underworld, he triple checked everything. As things were with the Extermination Act, he couldn't guarantee that any of his connections weren't compromised. He'd scouted out the meeting location periodically over the past several days to be extra safe. Right now his plan was to stick to the shadows and wait for until he was sure the location wasn't compromised before revealing himself. With the power of the dark stone, not even Epsilon should be able to detect him.
