God of Games
History:

There was originally one god, and his name is Icarus. He created the universe, and being the perfectionist he is, the dude took a few thousand years on the designing. After everything was done, he took the most interest in one of the planets he made that was named Arcadia. Because of this, Arcadia has the biggest population of any planet, being about 2 billion (He made a lot of people just pop up, then left them to produce more people). He created millions of angels that would look over all of the other galaxies while he remained within the galaxy that held Arcadia.

Icarus spoils the hell out of Arcadia, gifting the people with cool stuff all of the time, and all they have to do to earn it is pray (Arcadia is a medieval world for the most part, but with the help of Icarus, there are a lot of things that don't fit in the time line, like light bulbs (if Edison can create a lightbulb, so can a god lol) and flashlights and refrigerators and typewriters and other minor stuff, with mana absorbing batteries). He makes them work hard for most things, but he doesn't mind creating stuff that would help them out.

Icarus could do all this stuff for Arcadia, but he couldn't directly interact with the people since his presence alone would kill them, so he got lonely. Angels were beings made only to follow his orders, so they couldn't really carry a discussion without asking him what he wanted to talk about, which was boring. So, he decided to create five others that had godly power, though not as godly as his. They each excel in a certain element. wind water, earth, fire, and lightning. Unlike the angels, they had their own thoughts and agendas, which was both good and bad. Icarus wasn't lonely anymore, but he had created a huge problem.

The five elemental gods didn't like the people of Arcadia as much as he did. Instead, they liked interfering with their lives. So, they decided to make a competition that each of them could participate in. Usually when a person died, their spirit would end up in the spirit realm where they could relax forever (there were different areas of the realm. If you were good in life, you would live in luxury. If you were bad, you would live ok-ish, but would always want more). However, the gods were intercepting a spirit headed there and coming up to spirits already within the realm if they were impressed with their skills while they were alive. They would revive them (if the spirit wanted to be revived), give them magic that reflected their own elemental powers, and then bind them to another human. They would also implement a desire for them to fight another spirit that didn't have their same core element once they laid eyes on them (some can resist, but not many). If a spirit beat another in battle, the god that chose them would get bragging rights, and sometimes the gods would even make bets. They also created magic stones that could be absorbed by the spirits to gain other magics. There were rules for the spirits as well (discussed below).

Icarus was against pitting his 'children' against one another, but the gods convinced him otherwise, stating that everyone would still be able to chill out in the spirit realm after they died, and that any crimes the spirits and their companions committed during their time together wouldn't be tried since it was their game. They also kind of threatened him, stating that they would mess up Arcadia if they couldn't have their fun. Since Icarus gave them all godly power, he couldn't erase them, so he couldn't do anything but watch. After a few years, you could say that he even enjoyed this sport.

Notes About The Competition:

The five elemental gods choose spirits that have intrigued them to fight for them. The spirits are told that the gods want them to fight for them. If they accept, they are put back on Arcadia. The gods gift them their core magic to fight with and they spread other magics throughout the world in stones that glow (can only have up to 4 of here at once). At all times the spirits will be able to sense the direction that the stone closest to them is in. The sense will stop if they get to close. Spirits also have the ability to passively heal, though it is a very slow process.

For the spirits to stay on Arcadia, they have to be binded to living people, aka their masters. Once binded, the spirit has to stay within 200 meters of their master. If they leave this area, they will be instantly teleported back to the edge of the range. If either the master or the spirit gets hurt, their companion can decide to take on that damage if they wish. Some may call masters lucky to have spirits, but there is also a price that the two must pay. They share each other's emotions slightly. If the emotion is strong enough however, it will be a problem. For instance, if one of the companions are happy while the others are sad, they may not be heavily burdened by one another's emotions, but if either emotion is strong, it could completely change that person's current attitude. This can be good or bad.

The objective of the competition is for spirits to fight other spirits that don't have their same core magic. In order to get them to, the spirits feel rage towards their opponents when they are close by (possibly enraging their master as well), whether they are in spirit mode or physical mode.

Zestiria:

Zestiria is one of the continents on Arcadia that the RP will take place in. It's population is comprised of millions of people that belong to many different races, though the main three are humans, elves and giants since they have made the most impact within the location. There are several biomes that are scattered throughout Zestiria, as there are no general seasons. The many areas follow their own weather patterns. The Berseria Kingdom controls most of Zestiria, though some cities are independent. The capital city that holds the Berseria castle is located in the middle of Zestiria.
