Advancement Test

The Advancement Test is a unique test that showcases an Adepts abilities. It is taken to see if a particular student is eligible to skip a year, and move straight to a year-tier above the one they would normally be at. This may be because that particular Adept's abilities out perform the year they are currently in, and sticking to that year, would be a waste of the Adept's time and potential.

This test has some other smaller tests that are given the student before they are considered for the Advancement Test. However, if the Adept passes those initial preliminaries, then they can undergo the Advancement Test.

The Advancement Test usually requires the student to fight with a Adept of the year above theirs. Generally, in this test, the student who is the challenger will generally lose the fight, as a student above their year is expected to be much more skilled. However, that does not mean that the student undergoing the Advancement Test will fail. If they perform exceptionally well, or something they do impresses the panel of Staff that are the judges, then they may be passed, even if they lose the fight.

Advancement Tests are very rare, and it is rarer that the challenger wins the duel they are given.

Signature Moves

In recent years, Adepts have begun to name signature attacks. There is something called the 'Respect Theory'. The theory states, that if an Adept were to put a name into their attack, then they would cherish such an ability all the more; respecting their power. In much, the same way someone would name their pets, or even their kids. These 'named attacks', are often referred to as 'Signature Moves'. To reiterate, naming an attack is akin to naming a pet, or a child. Think of it this way, if attacks as children, then they're to have all the more passion in them! A 'parent' wouldn't be apathetic to their 'children'! Naming attacks are way to focus SE and concentrate it into a more condensed and succinct form. Instead of just using SE and Spirit Powers willy-nilly, crafting carefully named attacks, often hones specific uses for those attacks, resulting in an Adept's better use of their overall SE.
