Poetry I Let Him In.

Venom Adhamm

No one is ever going to want me
There's a man at my doorstep
Who says he's got something for me
Who says he can fix all my wounds
Who says he'll help me let go of my sins
And be free of the chains that hold me back
He tells me he's the only one left in this world
Who still wants to give me a chance
If I just let him in
If I let him in

And he said
"Boy, you don't need to cry so much
You don't need to take things to heart
Don't need to feel like it's too hard
Dry off those tears and put some trust in me
I'll clean up this mess you've made
I'll sew up the cuts and gashes
I can't take away your cross
But I'll make it easier to bear
If you just let me in
If you let me in
I swear"

I asked the man for his name
Asked where he came from
Asked just what he'd do
If I let him in
If I let him in

"Boy, my name is Nothing
It's Nothing to me and you
And Nothing is all I bring
Nothing is all I offer you
Because if you always feel so hurt
Then maybe you shouldn't feel at all
Just let me in
Just let me in"

So I begged and I pleaded
Wished for him to hollow out my heart
And force my pain into an empty void
I called on him to free me from this weight
Asked him to save me before I suffocate
So I let him in
I let him in
I let him in
I let him in

So I let him in
I let him in
I let him in
I let him in
