Lenni had never been completely normal, so it wasn't much of a surprise when she said she thought the apple tree was speaking to her.
"Hello," it greeted. "My name is Roland. How do you do?"
"Quite well, thanks," Lenni replied, curtsying. " How about you, Roland?"
"Well," Roland responded, "I'm a tree... so I'm kind of stuck here, and that makes me slightly unhappy. I would very much like it if somebody would go to those hills yonder, and grab me some water from the river there..."
"Very well, then," Lenni said, nodding. So she got the water and that was that.
