Nations

Human nations:

The Earth Federation: Housing the birthplace of humanity, Earth, it is a nation that is governed by its populace through elections and campaigns. Although its ideologies conflict with many surrounding nations it is sacred to many of the human nations that pockmark the galaxy although weak by itself it finds strength with its allies. The people from here have a strong sense of individuality and rightfulness almost to an annoying extent, native to what lies beyond their nation they are rather cheerful and optimistic. Many of the larger human corporations and entrepreneurs come from the earth federation looking to make a name for themselves in this galaxy. They welcome any and all aliens, this leads to many factions coming up within the earth federation which often leads to internal conflicts and political

The Greater Terran Union: A military state, the Greater Terran Union or GTU serves as the Earth Federations closest military ally, although the two oppose each other ideologically each one knows of each others importance and reliance on one another. The GTU provides the Earth federation with cheap industry as well as the main source of quality arms and armor, while the Earth Federation gives the GTU much needed income and goods from trade. Society within the GTU is tier structured, the more you serve the higher in the tiers you go, crime and corruption brings you down the tiers. This system has kept the GTU government efficient and fast compared to its Earth Federation counterpart, it is also surprisingly the more progressive of the two drugs and race mean nothing as long as you contribute to the government. Although many of these social changes greats unrest from the more traditional leaning populace, and the people serves the government.

The Protectors of Jehova: A technocratic state, the Protectors are a nation ran like a dictatorship, the society is rigid but keeps everyone in line. They are a small nation, and they rely on the earth federation for funding and the GTU for protection, while they provide the earth federation and all of the other human nations with much needed advanced medicines. However they are the progenitors of the human supremacist group adopting a human first policy, although not inherently racist the Protectors only care about eradicating all diseases and viruses that affect the human race, through any means possible. Though small the protectors are aggressive and will act to get their hands on what interests them using small but specialized task forces they will extract things of interest, say a rare plant, a mineral, a person, or a machine without second thought as long as they believe that certain specimen contains a cure to a disease or virus. This has made the protectors a untrustworthy and often viled nation to many alien nations, their actions have caused the other human nations to speak up about them but no one wants to do anything about it as they provide the galaxy with much needed cures.

The Confederacy: A conglomerate of several nations with the same values these nations are more or else ran buy a type of king and queen. These different nations share many things in common, how their society is structured, their type of production, and their policy on slaves. Naturally this makes the Earth federation and Protectors vile the confederacy, however they make it up with their massive amounts of agricultural production and raw mineral output. Known as the bread basket of the galaxy the confederacy is a neutral nation to all, slaves human or otherwise dont matter, the only thing that does is production and profit. Although all other human nations have outlawed slavery companies, raiders, and slavers sell the confederacy their means of production, millions of slaves are sold in the markets here, from all walks of life, from humans to the exotic alien races. The GTU, although neutral, despises their use of slaves but is reliant on them for raw materials to fuel their industries, thus granting them their protection.

The Sigma Sanatorium: A more traditional technocratic state, the Sanatorium is a nation ruled by machines in the figurative sense, cybernetics and automation are the norm. Few people hold power within the Sanatorium with those that do so run the various research sectors of the Sanatorium, governance plays a second hand to developing more advanced AI, alloys and more realistic androids. Naturally this leads to unrest, but they are quickly suppressed by automated police or heavy censorship, those that live in the Sanatorium are subject to the various companies that control their sector, and normally work in maintenance jobs with the more wealthy inhabitants being scientists working with in their respective fields. They give the other nations technologies relating to all things both cybernetic and AI, perhaps paradoxically many robotic inclined factions dislike the nation as they feel the need to be the first to go through breakthroughs, sabotaging and even stealing others work. They are the progenitors of the Trans-humanist movement often causing conflict with the protectors and many others abroad.

Although fragmented and in conflict with each other, these nations share the same heritage and will not accept outer powers from out right destroying either one and will join together to fight a stronger threat.

Alien nations:

The Fushka Republic: A nation with a warriors heritage and survivor of a genocide, the Fushkan peoples are a avian race and are warrior like much like the GTU. However unlike the GTU they are a much more traditional people with rigid but stable societal structures, they are ruled by a chain of greater chieftains who in turn follow the khan, leader of their entire race. Their republic is small but growing, as their introduction to the galaxy was abrupt and hostile, although not fanatically xenophobic they are wary of all races. They have a honor and disciplinary code, vowing to themselves never to break pacts, or go back on their word without reason. Their slaves are treated fairly and are often freed with the Fushkan believes they have worked their worth. The fushkan peoples have a lower than average lifespan as the radiation and poor air quality of their homeworld are abundant from the attempted genocide of their people by the Altarian Ascendancy. With a keratinous exoskeleton that only protects from scratches and minor wounds scars become very prominent and healing through natural means is slow.

The Ketian Union: A nation controlled by the CEO's of various off world corporations, the Ketian Union actually uses the profits made from these corporations to prove their worlds and citizens, its main peoples are the Rei'Coness. A tall but skinny type of people, dressed conservatively they are praised for their logical thinking and mercantile capabilities, physically they have nothing exceptional about themselves other than their larger than average height. The Ketian Union employs people of all races and their corporations resemble government sectors rather than anything a normal corporation is actually like, only it softly applies to some other nations that allow such things. They have their hands in most of the trade that goes around in the galaxy, and are neutral to most policies such as slavery and drug trade sometimes even act on them.

The Altarian Ascendancy: Much like the Fushka republic, the Ascendancy is warlike, however unlike the Republic, they are disliked by most of the galaxy. Seeking ascension through cloning and genetic augmentation the Ascendancy often wars with other nations, to them it is a war of ideology, but to the Ascendancy it is a war for more biomass and bio diversity. The people in the Ascendancy have lost their identity in their religious and fanatical view of ascension. Naturally there are many within that oppose this rhetoric and have formed their own minination within. But they are the exception rather than the rule, slaves purchased by the Ascendancy will almost certainly be used for horrific experiments. Society is ruled by a religious leader the more genetically augmented you are the more you are revered, thus the old will always rule over the young. The wealthy, the strong, rule over the weak.

Naseni: A democracy similar to the earth federation, its main populace and its original peoples are the Ragkir, insectoid race with fly like eyes. The Naseni population is quite varied with the Ragkir making the bulk majority, welcoming all races it touts itself as the most diverse nation in the galaxy. Although peaceful, Naseni will go to war to preserve the identity of other races, and helped the Fushkans onto their feet after finding out what had happened to their homeworld. It promotes democracy like the Earth federation but will not allow its systems to declare independence from Naseni surprisingly outside of systems that do declare independence and thus shut down, no congregation of protest has been had from this firm stance. Slavery or working the incarcerated without pay is a common practice within Naseni and they are treated like prisoners as they are often criminals of some kind. The Ragkir people are an adventurous type who like to scour the galaxy for its mysteries, it is not uncommon for Ragkir to be part of various ship crews or finding a Ragkir ship out in the middle of uncharted space. They are often the face of diplomacy when other nations talk about forming a federation of sorts.

The Symphony: A nation ruled entirely by machines born from a long thought dead race, the symphony is a race of AI ruled by a benevolent AI that share the same heritage of the cartographers. Although self programmed to be much more versatile and more individualistic the Symphony rules over itself much like a democracy. But it is governed by a single eternal entity that enacts on the wills of its populace, the Symphonic androids are often targeted by the [placeholder] in order to learn about how they are made. A majority of sentient androids come from the Symphony, many of them are complaisant with the ruling body that governs them with rare exceptions of symphonic androids joining hostile rebellions.

Hujuarl League: Another democratic state, the league is a bunch of different nations that originated from the same race, the Juarl. A bulky reptilian species, once extremely war-like but after their near extinction through nuclear war they are hesitant to take action. Their war-like heritage as stuck with them however, with one of the largest standing militaries they act as the peacekeepers of the region of galaxy that they are near. They are fond of the Fushka and sympathize with them thinking their xenophobic tendancies are a unfortunate side effect of the events that had happened to them, however being so young they are also curious. How did a planet of fragmented primitives fend off the Ascandancy? The league by itself had problems with fending them off and they had advanced spaceships! The revelation made the league question their strategy and tactics, making them very eager to work with the league at least when they're open to diplomatic talks.

The Cartographers: The most enigmatic entity galaxy thus far, the Cartographers are most hivemind like, seekers of knowledge, they scan, record, and document anything and everything. Their homeplanet itself is a large spaceship that moves from system to system sending out its drones and husks to interact with locals, scan the system, and leave a small group of Cartographers behind to document further discoveries. They are neutral to the truest nature, their android bodies are simple and made to appeal to the local population, they are not battlemade but they are made to be durable. If hostile action is given the traveling homeworld will send out task forces to retrieve the drones, or attempt to. The Cartographers dont need much maintance or researches to keep going, their planet is little more than a nuisance when they arrive in a system, many threaten the planet only not to do anything about it in fear of what weapons it might have hidden within its surface, or the debris if the planet were to be destroyed within the system.

Mega Corporations

Montecristo inc: A human originated corporation, they deal with all things chemicals, they sell large amounts of fertilizer to the Confederacy, and synthetic fuels abroad. They control most of the production and sales of plastics and other chemical based products, and are the most prevalent in everyday life of the average person, especially in the more poorer off communities. They have manufacturies all over the galaxy and even more drilling and mining platforms out in neutral space, protected by private militaries both their personal one and hired help. There are many complaints other nations have against Montecristo but the company simply adapts for each nation changing labels around to get as much amount profit from them as possible.

Kenra: A multiracial corporation, they are where most veterans and the people from the worst of worlds go to, though its people aren't inherently bad it often attracts and even encourages the scum of the galaxy. They normally work as auxiliaries within military campaigns, working with anyone except for the Ascendancy, the higher paid more elite soldiers within their ranks often are reserved for guarding politicians or persons of interest and sometimes work in the shadows to further their own agendas. While the lower class of troops fight in front lines to fill the battlefield or guard mining posts. Outside of nations they are the largest buyer of GTU and Hujuarl league arms, armor, and vehicles, though they do produce and sell much of their own equipment, it is sometimes easier to buy and field local weapons and armor. Many weapons in the galaxy are Kenra made and depending on the class type, high quality.

Yokai Industries and Slate Automata: Two corporations that often work together, they supply the galaxy, particularly the alien part, with AI, security robots, androids, and various other cybernetics. These two corporations used to be friendly rivals competing with each other to come up with better and better products, it wasn't until humanity and thus, the Sanatorium came into play. With how aggressive the Sanatorium is in stealing and sabotaging the works of both corporations, the two decided to work together and semi merge, but retaining their identities. Their scientists and security sectors now work as one, although utilizing Kenra bodyguards in large facilitates near populated planets, the more important ones are protected by their most advanced security robots.

Liten Pharmaceutical: A Ketian based medical corporation they control most if not all the medicines of the galaxy, they are conflict with the protectors. Not due to rivalry or what/how they produce their product. But rather the information they have on the various alien races within the galaxy, no one knows why the Protectors are after it but it is agreed by most nations that they should not acquire this valuable information. Outside of simple medicines and with the job of caring for the races of the galaxy, Liten Pharmaceutical also runs a private insurance industry, these services are for the wealthy and a chip is implanted within the customer. When the biosigns of the customer is compromised or the customer requests a response team the company sends out trained, and armed paramedics to their location to locate and stabilize the customer.

Tritaecorp: A large conglomerate of various agricultural industries, Tritaecorp is the largest producer and distributors of food and raw materials in the galaxy. The largest producer and supplier of these is the Confederacy, making a estimated 48% of Tritaecorp's profit through trade and pure amount. Tritaecorp is one of the most influential entities in the galaxy able to shut off most trade from a nation, planet, or any dissenting entity. Due to this they work closely with Kenra and Yokai/Slate with automated drones and mercenary security forces protecting their distribution centers and defending food caravans when sent to a particularly worse off planet. Another entity they work closely with is the Confederacy, not only in goods trade but in the slave trade, prisoners, captured raiders and disgruntled black mailing former employees are quietly taken off the streets and sold off. Often they do charity runs but only to appear good and righteous and the food they send will never be enough to solve any famine or crisis.

Crime Syndicates:

Amarkun: The most secret syndicate, many think that they are simply a myth, or at the very most a organization of loosely connected individuals. Their main business is assassination, deceit, and creating conflict, no matter how large or small from petty squabbles between low ranking politicians to creating international controversies. They are often paid for these actions by certain parties or individuals and depending on the payment they will enact on these desires. Their failure rate is substantially low but the validity of these statistics may have been doctored or simply inaccurate as the many of the documented ones are on lesser more obscure peoples.

The Crescent Moon: Controlling the largest territory of the underworld the Crescent Moon is the most well known and most problematic for local police and corporations. They deal in all kinds of illegal activities from selling off drugs to public killings of individuals that seek to expose them. Their influence is the most known with many being on their trail, avoiding these would be detectives by either killing them or in extreme cases relocating entire workshops have made this organization rather hard to track down. They are ran by a council, 8 different individuals that command and run their 8 different industries, drug production, drug distribution, slavery, raiding and banditry, "insurance," quiet bodyguards, fraudulent taxing and identity, and finally, smuggling. Their symbol is of course a Crescent Moon, their members are far and wide, they often a attempt to crush other syndicates or absorb them altogether.

Organizations:

Tritariam's ascent: A transhuman organization that originated from the Sanatorium, they believe in ascendancy to the gods through machine and faith. All of their members have some form of Cybernetics, with the most revered having every piece of their body replaced, the also worship the Symphony and other robots and will deem anyone rejecting their beliefs as heretics. Being in every region in the galaxy whether small or large it is their mission to spread far and wide casting a large shadow, many nations have recently attempted to crack down onto them but it has been hard to do so as not everyone with cybernetics is apart of them but all of them have cybernetics. Being the biggest buyers of cybernetics the Sanatorium and the conglomerate corporations may even assist the Tritariam, with some information or even funding to a small extent.

Rapture Requiem: A human supremacist organisation they seek to get any and all aliens out of human space whether peacefully or through hostile actions, making them enemies with all alien factions, the earth federation, and the GTU. Funded largely by the Protectors of Jehova, the requiem make secret space stations at which they operate and their recruitment centers are all around human space quietly recruiting those to their cause. Although they avoid all out conflict with the human nations they have no qualms about forcing conflicts with them and the alien nations, they want humanity to conquer and claim the stars for themselves.

Planets:

Aibos II: A planet at the crossroads of many nations no one nation owns it, various nations lay claim over Aibos II with no one really agreeing on who officially owns what. But colonists from every side decided to inhabit this rich world and over time it became prosperous with trade and development, people from all races came to call this planet home and it seemed everyone worked together peacefully. It wasn't until a unnamed supremacy group rose up, causing other supremacy groups to form did the peace really last, race wars started to pop up here and there but soon it spread to the whole planet engulfing it in perpetual civil war. Nations didnt want to deal with peace keeping operations although they talked much about the planet and its inhabitants, news outlets were all over broadcasting the events. It wasnt until the fighting died down did corporations come in for "peacekeeping" operations and offering jobs to the local populace to attempt to get its economy back. The reality of it all was mercenary groups roaming the controlled streets while heavy fighting continued, the factories built there were little more than slave pens, the wages were barely enough to survive.

Alien nation:

Imperial Unions of Olophon: From the homeworld of Olophon, three major empires exist as the dominant powers which roughly champion the same ideals. Diplomatically these three empires are united under the goal to better preserve the Conifes but are often accused of the serving only their political and social elite, leaving the masses in a state of contented misery. Throughout their history the Conifes have never successfully performed rebellions or managed to win a war slated heavily against them, leading to a conformative albeit defeatist mindset. The Conifes are an eerily humanoid race with the key differences being large upper canine teeth, additional sets of arms, and a high chance to possess multiple sets of photosensitive eyes. To the majority of their people, aliens are seen as delightful distractions and exquisite delicacies while the upper class view them as potential pets, companions, and cattle for the poor. That said their society is mostly reserved in the galactic scene finding many races disagreeing on the stance of sentient livestock. The constant concern of being attacked by aliens has lead to the Unions preferring to avoid open conflict with their neighbours, keeping themselves almost entirely located to their system of origin but industrially present in many systems beyond.

Illicit Substance:

Glass: A dust made up of fine crystals that are inserted in pinches directly into the space between the eye and eyelid or placed against the underside of the eyelid. The substance can also be taken by rubbing into the gums but is weaker when done so and slower acting. Glass' main appeal is its energizing high users feel and vision enhancing properties where users claim to experience a variety of vision alterations with some claiming to see a comprehensive 'kaleidoscope' of reality while others claim to see enhanced detail. Like most illicit substances, Glass has a come down that can last from a meager twelve hours to a week depending on previous exposure to it and the dosage taken. While it is entirely illegal to even possess, it is recommended to only ever take glass from a reputable dealer and to rest your eyes for a minimum of four hours before and after.

Human nation:

Principality of Eruzeon - A former Human Colony turned independent. Ruled by a Lord who was apparently the successor of a great and powerful political figure head who led to their independence. This Militaristic and authoritarian nation boasts a strong industrial power in both Civilian and Military Sectors. In the Society of Eruzea, Martial ability is highly valued, thus all of its citizens are regularly trained in all matters about war to defend their Independence and sovereignty.

Fed up with the petty bantering of the Federation. a powerful Political figure rose up from the colony proclaiming a single throne and a single voice should lead the Nation instead of the petty bantering of the conglomerate of senators that waste away money. it gained traction among the workers of the Eruzeon Colony and the movement has attracted the attention of the Federation to which their answer was to arrest him for rebelling against the government, however during the arrest he was shot by a Federation guard which sparked a bloody revolution within the Colony, led by his second-in-command who named himself Lord of Eruzeon.

Unleashing their Military might that they secretly built over the years, Eruzeon battled for their independence and against the onslaught of the Federation might. Eventually casualties rose too high as the bloody conflict went on, both Nations were exhausted in the fighting but the support for the independence of Eruzeon was still strong to the point it reached the heartland of the Federation like a growing spiderweb. Realizing the Eruzeans have won the Political side of things, Both the Federation and the Principality signed a Treaty that declared independence to Eruzea.

Planet:

Eruzea - Similar composition to Earth. right in the so called 'Goldilocks Zone' of the Star System. The only notable Landmark that can be seen from space is the Farbanti Crater, a Massive Impact crater from many millennia ago and was the site of the first landing to the planet.

Alturon (All-too-ron), Autonimous Organic mechanisms, as they call themselves, Are a technologically advanced race of machine-like entities of unknown origin.
A majority of the species, a low count of roughly 7 million, have been discovered, all on popular mining sites, like Asteroids and moons. The Alturon lay dormant in these areas, usually incased in a metal cocoon of sorts, in some form of hybernation. Once put into a life supporting atmosphere, The alturon will wake, with no memory of before their dormancy. Many dont even recall a name, but have shown a distinct ability to learn and mimic behavior. Their personalities are as varied as human minds and easily rival AI in depth and capability, if not surpass. Alturon display emotion, and it is unknown if this is just a programmed method of interaction, or a legitimate display. They have also showed a form of empathy with actual machines, some claiming they "speak to them" and are able to gather information through this method.

Alturon, while appearing entirely mechanical by nature, seem to share aspects with organic life. They require sustenance, often through everyday nutrients, or forms of energy. If it is deemed impossible to collect enough energy to survive, they will once again go dormant, where they will shut down, and wait for a source to be applied. They seem to convert any sustenance they absorb into a blue fluid internally, which is then pumped through their bodies by a device similar to a heart in function. If damaged, they seem to react in a pained manor, often holding the "wound" in an attempt to apply pressure, to stem the "bleeding", or fluid leak. If given time and proper work is done, the wound can be found to have repaired itself, however damages to internal systems, the heart-like pump, for example, require the aide a skilled mechanic, or in dire situations, another Alturon. They have even shown the ability to assimilate metal, to allow repairs of sorts if pieces are missing or removed. By doing so, over time the metal becomes indistinguishable from the creatures form, being converted entirely to fit with its design

Alturon have shown an impressive ability to adapt, as their bodies, unlike machines and most organics, are not a set form. Through their advanced control of their forms, they can cause their chassis and internals to move, disconnect, seperate, readjust, bend, turn, and alter to redesign themselves, allowing them to turn their bodies into a metephorical jacknife. Its hand can contort to produce a laser firing firearm, or pieces can change and disconnect, forming a throwable explosive.

Alturon have shown physically they can be vulnerable. If their Head, for example, is destroyed, they cease function. If they are damaged to a certain point and repair is deemed impossible, they will return to dormancy, and will not wake until brought back to prestine condition. If one IS repaired and reawoken, they will be, by all intensive purposes, dead. The alturon will have lost all prior memory, and often has an entirely different personality.

After it was recognized the Alturon were plentiful and were leaving the "rarity" department, united goverments began to impliment what was called the "Alturon Protocol", an introductory program of sorts. These programs usually came in file form, and allowed the Alturon to absorb large amounts of information quickly, so they could easily intergrate into society. With this, and a run down of social norms, The newly awakened Alturons were able to join their new societies quickly.

Company: Dexterous Manufacturers: Built out from Dextra, the company is well known in the outer worlds for cheap and good quality computers. After a PR incident about slavery on their home planet, they managed to survive by bribing every official they met, and generous donations to public works projects. They are on the down low for now, and while slightly vilified are seen as reformed by the people of the galaxy at large. They don't engage in the slave trade anymore, but have branched off into offshore banking and fraud schemes.

Planet: Dextra is a arid planet, 3rd from their sun. A small colony, it resembles a oasis all the way around the planet. With no major oceans, the colony is centered on the largest lake, and mostly gets it's foodstuffs from a few major farms in the north. It is located in the GTU, and is most noted for the factories and mining operations on the planet.

Alien Nation

The Representative Chithroi Administration. An oligarchical government, run by the most prominent monks of Enburki IV, and overseen by a high priest. Featuring high exports in artisan works, like pottery, art, music, and the sorts, the RCA has a reputation of being a non-official vassal of the surrounding powers, but in fact controls several surrounding planets, and quickly growing in technology. Often regarded as harmless, the RCA in fact has several military training facilities, specializing in utilizing their small stature to their advantage with swift melee attacks.

Planet

Enburki IV is the fourth planet in the Enburki system. Near the equator rests a climate similar to that of the mediterranean coasts of earth, and is where many Chithroi inhabit. The surrounding landmasses are much more temperate, and do not harbor suitable environments for colonization as of yet.

Illicit Substance

Tuiber, a hallucinogenic grass found endemically on Enburki IV,but is known to grow in other biospheres. Tuiber is often used by Chithroi for religious ceremonies, either smokes through pipes, chewed, or ground into a fine powder, diluted with water, and drank. Ingestion of tuiber causes nearly instant euphoria and vivid imagery of pleasurable stimulus. Exported from Enburki IV, but deemed illegal in most territories. Although highly addictive to other races, Chithroi have developed an immunity to the addictive affects over several generations.

The Kamarin Space Station was once a frontier bastion of the Earth Federation, defending against foreign invaders and pirates of the beyond, but when the borders expanded beyond it, it was converted into a trade hub, although it still held many of its old defenses it was a far cry of what it once was. The Kamarin trade hub served as a resting and refueling station for various cargo ships, but as the more and more hyperlanes were found the route that the Kamarin Trade hub was in grew more and more with traffic and importance. Naturally Kamarin grew with it, first hotels and apartments were made for the traveling crew, then markets opened up, and it all spiraled into the massive space station it is today. The core of the Kamarin Space Station are what remains of the bastion that it once was, now it has various extensions built out from it, from large corridors going to other sections, to ramshackle rooms and bobs jutting out of long underused air locks. Now the Kamarin Space Station acts more as a wealthy city state than a simple station made for trade and refueling.

Legal Smoking Alternative
DS-450, "Deathsticks". These are small tubular devices about 3-4 inches long. On one end is a light that glows when the button at the base is pressed, which ignites the chemicals inside and turning it into a vapor to be inhaled. This vapor is similar to the smoke from cigarettes, containing nicotine and other addictive chemicals. According to some research these can even be worse for your health, but there is no agreement that this is true.

Illicit Substance
Tripoli X (10). Very similar to other amphetamines, this substance can be snorted or smoked. The effects include: heightened focus, keeps the user awake for hours on end, heightened reaction time/reflexes. Tripoli X is beloved by users because it doesn't cause the usually jitters most other amphetamines will give you. The user feels in complete control for up to periods of 12 hours. However, the downside is that the come-down can be extremely hard and even lethal if too large of a dose is taken. Tripoli X was first designed by GTU scientists for use with pilots, but was phased out and outlawed once the lethality of the drug was fully uncovered.
