Unfortunately, there is no way to turn off specifically Newsletter notifications. You can turn off Emails (if you have them on) through your Preferences page, as well as change other notifications settings. But that's for all on-site notifications.
Newsletter alerts come out only once per month, on the 1st of each month when the Newsletter is posted. This month was an exception because the first announcement contained incorrect link and I apologize for the inconvenience
I will make sure this won't happen again and only one alert will come out.
