I'd be surprised if this was literally the first poem you ever wrote... It's decent though, so don't be too hard on yourself.
I would say however, that the rhythm between the words is much more important than rhyming. By that I mean when you read it allowed it should flow, reading it in my head this poem is decent; however, when it is read out loud it's somewhat clunky. I'd suggest reading your poem out loud often as you write it.
