Name: Hope Anne Svajonė
Nickname: Hope

Age: 15
Gender: female
Appearance: Hope has goldish, light brown hair and hazel eyes. Her face is soft and healthy looking and she has a slight, very light tan from always sitting by the window in the hallway. Most of the time, her hair is loose and hangs down her back over her hospital gown or white dress.
Personality: Hope has probably one of the purest and most innocent patients in the entire hospital because her dementia has taken most of her memories away so that she is experiencing life like that of a child.. Understanding nothing but wanting to know everything. She is curious and doesn't understand that she shouldn't be moving out and about or away from her room but, no matter how many times she is reminded by the nurses, she doesn't remember. She is fairly friendly to everyone, even strangers, having not had the caution installed in a child by its parents. She is a fast learner, but will never remember the events of the day before.
Condition : niemann pick type c - main symptoms : epilepsy, dementia, cerebellar ataxia.
Bio: When Hope was born, she was jaundice for the first week or so. Her stomach was swolen and she was very weak in comparison to other children. The doctor's first brushed it off as an unidentified liver disease though her parents suspected more. Their GP later recommended them to some specialists. Upon taking her to having skin, blood and bone marrow biopsies in an attempt to find out what was wrong with their child. She was diagnosed with Niemann Pick disease type C and was estimated to only survive to her next birthday.

Miraculously, Hope had survived her first few years and, though life was growing gradually harder what with constant memory loss, she remained their ever loving daughter, unaware that she might die one day. At the age of 12, her dementia gradually got worse as she forgot her friends and never really remembered any thing she learned. She forgot where she lived or who her parents were and her memory was reduced to that of a new born baby. Though she retained most of vocabulary and speech, there was nothing else she could truly recall.

Pained and heart broken, her parents delivered her child to the Red Band Society in the hopes that they could some how fix their child from an incurable disease.  Though they did not accept the minor at first, her parents had the money to persuade them to take her in. She has been at the hospital for almost 3 years now and still thinks it's her first day.
Sexuality : heterosexual
Crush/Relationship : If she had anyone important to her, she doesnt remember them anymore.
Likes: Sun, animals, nature
Dislikes: the dark, being alone, forgetting
Tattoos/Piercings/Markings : none.
How they feel about being here : Hope doesn't mind being in the hospital as it's been her home for the past year or so even though she doesn't really remember any of it. She quite likes it as it is quiet and there are always a lot of people around. She enjoys sitting by her little window and exploring when she feels like it.
Other : Deep downl Hope knows that she is forgetting her life, but the idea never truly sits in her mind. She somehow finds her way around the hospital. It's almost like the plan of the building was something her body remembered and not her mind. She is drawn to sitting by the window overlooking the hospital ground where the sun shines in from. The sun reminds her of something she used to remember, but she can't.

The nurses always make sure she is wearing a tag with her name, condition and ward number on her dress in case she wanders off or forgets where or who she is.

"I remember them crying... Two people I don't know, a man and a woman, who said they loved me very much. They always wondered whether it is better to die in peace or to suffer for the rest of one's life."
